Irish music has its roots in oral tradition dating back to the 18th century and includes many genres that developed on the entire island of Ireland. It has kept traditional aspects while also influencing other forms of music and experiencing international success in genres like rock, popular music and traditional fusion artists like The Corrs, The Chieftains, Enya, and U2. The 20th century saw the rise of original Pinoy music genres and greater nationalism in musical forms and organizations.
