A Narrative Essay On Cerberus
Stephanie looked the turian female over and did her best to work out just who she was looking at. The
metal implants on the side of her head, temporarily obscured by her long brown hair, they did assist
her in working with who was directly in front of her but with people like this mystery woman,
Stephanie didn t really need them. She could spot anxious a mile away and while the turian s
faceplates weren t as expressive as the average salarian or human, she could almost smell it on her.
Deciding to go for sickly sweet charming as opposed to the rough, gruff exchange she was going to
use for her, Stephanie relaxed against the hard plaster of the chair and she made a big show of crossing
her legs over one another, slipping so easily into the seductress ... Show more content on

What I m going to do is take down Cerberus, you ve heard of them right? Smart cookie like you must
have! Stephanie said, throwing a compliment into the mix as if she wanted to try and ease Vita into the
ease of what they were going to be doing. Continuing on, Stephanie reached over and placed a hand
on Vita s long, slim and bony arm, a reassuring rub against it while continuing. Stephanie tapped a
button on the padd and brought up the first real search location the two would need to go through. So,
me and you are going to head to the markets and see if we can find some of the tracker locations. We
shouldn t need any guns for that. If we do run into trouble though... Stephanie took a seat back and her
bright brown eyes flashed with blue and her whole body shimmered in the biotic light as if to reassure
the turian woman. You know what Vita, I think me and you are going to be an awesome team together.
Stephanie said with a smile, her teeth and eyes both shining so brightly underneath the flashing lights
of the hip nightclub. Placing an arm on the bar to the left of them, Stephanie took another swig of her
booze before casting a look over her shoulder at her gear. Turning back to face Vita, Stephanie took
her second chance after first noting Vita inside of the

empty Erlenmeyer flask and sealing it with the rubber stopper were practiced a few times before
conducting the experiment. 2. 5 ml of Sodium Hydroxide solution was measured using the graduated
cylinder. After, it was poured into the empty Erlenmeyer Flask. 3. 3 ml of Iron(III) Nitrate was poured
into the mini test tube. Next, the Erlenmeyer Flask was tilted and the mini test tube was carefully
inserted into it, without mixing the contents. Lastly, it was sealed with a rubber stopper. 4. The

Ronald Reagan s Reaganomics
Ronald Wilson Reagan was born on February 6, 1911, in Tampico, Illinois. He was the 40th President
of the US, and was a Republican party candidate that served for two terms (1981 1989). I believe
Ronald Reagan had a successful presidency because he ended the Cold War, developed Reaganomics ,
and revitalized the GOP.
Ronald Reagan was president during the Cold War era. During this era, communism was becoming a
major threat in the world, and the Soviet Union was a major communist power. Reagan did not like
the Soviet Union, calling them an evil empire , and he believed that the US not only had a foreign
policy duty to oppose but a moral duty to compete with the USSR as well. Reagan knew that if the
USSR could be weakened, that it could bring an end to the Cold war, therefore, he developed the
Reagan Doctrine. The Reagan Doctrine was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The economy at the end of Jimmy Carter s term was in a recession, as inflation was high and so was
federal spending. Reagan wanted to develop his own economic policy, as he claimed an undue tax
burden, excessive government regulation, and massive social spending programs restricted economic
growth. Therefore, Reagan develops a new tax program, at which is now referred to as Reaganomics .
This plan began with Reagan s Economic Recovery Tax Act of 1981, aggressively cutting income
taxes from 70 percent to 28 percent for the top income tax rate, and from 48 percent to 34 percent for
the corporate tax rate by the end of his term. Reagan did this because of his knowledge in Trickle
down economics, as he knew that the wealthy played a large role in that of the lower and middle class
economies. Reagan also began his work with employment, as he created 20 million new jobs and
Unemployment fell from 7.6% to 5.5% by 1988. His battle on inflation was also a success, as Inflation
dropped from 13.5% in 1980 to 4.1% by the end of his

Clayton County Population Health Case Study
Among all the factors that are attributed to population health, the environment is perhaps the greatest.
It is common knowledge in public health that if the physical environment is unhealthy, so is the
population that live there. Even though the many of the environmental issues are being addressed by
the State and County authorities, Clayton County is experiencing a slow rate of change. While the air
pollution particulate matter is declining, it is currently at 13.2, which is higher than the national
average of 9.5, and the 12.8 for the state s average.2 In addition, this county has drinking water
violations and severe housing problems. As a result of these and other environmental issues, Clayton
County ended up with a county ranking of 159 out of 159.1 This is not a good thing for the population
of Clayton County. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As with the environment, this health factor is also a great indicator of the health status of a population,
because if babies are not being born or are dying prematurely, this can have long term economic
consequences and population decline. Therefore, it is paramount that much efforts are put into
lowering infant mortality rates According to State of Health Report, Clayton County ranked high in
infant mortality in the State of Georgia. In addition, it ranked highly in premature births and low birth
weight. The most current data show the infant mortality rate to be 9.2, premature birth at 11.0 percent,
and low birth weight at 10.4 percent among all ages and races.6 These disparities are much greater
among the various age group and race. Because the issue of maternal and child health is such a major
factor in the overall health of the population of Clayton County, the focus will be centered on the
issues of infant mortality and the magnitude of the problem confronting the population of this

ease the process of learning new material and provide them with a sense of instant support and a
teamwork feel. Upon training, new team members also receive a bingo card (see attached) that must
be signed off every time a new objective is learned. Throughout the bingo card there are practices and
evaluations, and at the end there is a whirl pinning ceremony. At this ceremony the new team member
receives their whirl to wear on their apron signifying that they made it and are an officially informed

Case Study Of Theon Pharmaceuticals
Theon Pharmaceuticals is a manufacturing concern which does not sell its products directly in the
market. It manufactures products for third parties like Abott, Cipla, etc., and is therefore only involved
in Business to Business sales in the domestic market. Since the company is doing well with its
existing client base with timely deliveries and ever increasing revenues (as mentioned in the case), it
clearly indicates that its business model is doing just fine. The only improvement that it requires is in
terms of value addition which can be gained by company s expansion either by enhancing its
production capacity, adding to its product line or increasing exports. With its already sound reputation,

The Impact Of Cultural Diversity On An Organization
Past experiences have demonstrated that cultural diversity in an organization can lead to issues. For
instance, the implementation of a strategy in a context different from where it has been created can be
difficult, conflicts between subsidiaries and the headquarters can exist, or management of intercultural
teams can be problematic. Walmart in Germany is a relevant example of the cultural context
importance when it comes to HRM. In fact, in 1997 and 1998, Walmart acquired two companies in
Germany but it was a failure. It can be explained by the fact that feedback of the employees was
ignored by managers. For example, in the morning they had to do exercise while singing the name of
the brand. This practice may be a morale booster in the United States but in Germany it was seen in a
really bad way, such as the practice of spying on colleagues, what can surely be related to the country
s history, among others examples. The US management practices was not in accordance with the
German cultural context. (Macaray, 2011)
That is why intercultural management cannot be ignored when it comes to the organization
performance, and the universal best practice approach to HRM have to be critically considered
because what is appropriate to a specific environment will not systematically be for another.
Before, intercultural management did not existed. The universalist approach, which is inspired by the
success encountered by Taylor and Ford s concepts until the 1950s, asserts that the

The Brown versus Board of Education Case
Does segregation of children in public schools solely on the basis of race, even though the physical
facilities and other tangible factors may be equal, deprive the children of the minority group of equal
educational opportunities? We believe that it does. quote from the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education
U.S. Supreme Court decision. To this day, Brown Versus the Board of Education is known as one of
the most significant Supreme Court rulings of the 20th century. Brown versus the Board of Education
stated that racial segregation of students disrupted parts of the 14 amendment. The outcome of this
case would end up causing a full racial revolution across the United States of America, (U.S.) and a
new way of schooling and acceptance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Along with this, the Brown versus Board of Education ruling gave hope to blacks and colored people
throughout Africa and Asia that in the U.S. regardless of your skin color, prosperity and equality are
possible. The end of equal but separate facilities is the most important outcome from the Brown versus
Board of Education ruling. During the late 1800 s many states declared that blacks and whites could
not use the same restrooms, ride the same buses, or attend the same schools. Even though this was a
state law, many people disagreed with this, and thought that the law was insane. Basically this law
permitted segregation amongst race. The law stated that the segregation amongst people was allowed
as long as the facilities, homes, or whatever was separated was equal. In most scenarios this was not
the case. Due to the pure outrage of this law the National Association for the Advancement of Colored
People (NAACP) was created in 1909. This organization s primary goals are to safeguard and secure
social, educational, political, and economic equality amongst all people. Also they attempt to destroy
racial disgust and discrimination. For years before the Brown versus Board of education case came
about, the NAACP was trying to persuade Congress on other laws to help protect blacks from
lynchings and other racist actions. The NAACP is linked to the Brown versus Board of Education case
in that they helped overturn the separate but equal law. At the time

Obsession In Two Literary Works Essay
Obsession is one of the greatest obstacles for mankind to overcome. In Naguib Mahfouz s Midaq
Alley and Gabriel Garcia Marquez s One Hundred Years of Solitude, the motif of obsession helps to
both characterize and even foreshadow the fates of the characters. Both novels illustrate that
obsessions with an object or person leads to demise, but the novels differ in how they portray the
effects of these obsessions on humanity. Before continuing this analysis, obsession will be clearly
defined. For the purpose of this essay, obsession will be characterized by three concepts: the character
is shown constantly contemplating the desired object or person, most of a character s actions or goals

When confronted with the obstacle of religion, Hamida yells I don t give a damn [about violating the

orients all of her actions around gaining money, and as she destroys religious obstacles in order to
attain money. Later, Hamida s obsession with money leads her into prostitution, emotional turbulence,
and misery as she undergoes a moral degradation in order to satiate her obsession. While Hamida is
obsessed with financial success and the luxuries that it brings, her fiancé Abbas is obsessed with his
love for Hamida. After the first time of being rejected by Hamida, Abbas refuses to leave her alone
because he is truly in love and [feels] certain his love for her would last a thousand years (Midaq
Alley, P44). Although Hamida rejects Abbas on numerous occasions, she is eventually convinced of
his love as Abbas promises to work for the Army to gain enough money to give Hamida anything she
desires. Once Abbas leaves for the army, Hamida looks to other men for financial stability instead of
waiting for her fiancé to return. When Abbas finally returns, he begins to drink in order to escape his
emotional pain. When Abbas notices the coquettish personality of Hamida as

Critical Analysis of The 5th Wave Essay
In a world where a mysterious alien race has besieged Earth survival is the ultimate goal. 95% of the
world s population was not able to achieve this goal; Cassie Sullivan is one of the lucky ones. The
others, as the humans call them, set up five waves to eradicate the human race. Surviving the first
wave wasn t too difficult, it was, after all, just an EMP strike. The second wave really shook the
world, literally. The aliens set the Earth s tectonic plates in motion, causing thousands of off the chart
earthquakes. The tsunamis that spurred from these quakes were detrimental; killing about 50 percent
of the world s overall population. The third wave proved to be the most emotionally devastating. A

smile that could charm anyone. But brilliance and charm alone can not get him out of his current
situation; sergeant and squad leader of a military unit assigned to eliminating alien infected persons.
While in training at the military s Camp Haven, Ben meets a very young boy named Sammy. Sammy
is the same age as Ben s now dead sister, five years old. He swore to himself that he would not let
anyone hurt Sam, like the others murdered his little sister. No matter what the stakes, Benjamin will
try to help Sam escape the alien compound that is Camp Haven.
Books that get published nowadays are usually intended for a specific audience. This often leads to a

walk, and few succeed. But Rick Yancey s wildly entertaining new novel, The 5th Wave, is such a
book (Cronin). Mr. Cronin states it quite well, the book is incredibly entertaining. From

Stereotypes In It Is Not Me It s You
Don t try to squeeze into a glass slipper. Instead shatter the glass ceiling. This quote, by Priyanka
Chopra, a successful Hollywood actress, is urging people to become nonconformists. Many people
often try so hard to be the stereotypes society places on them, even though that is not who they truly
are. However, Chopra wants people to do the opposite by breaking the mold, and be someone who
might stand out of the crowd. One might be able to greater express their individuality and uniqueness,
without feeling trapped within their stereotype. Yet, even though much attention has been brought to
this issue, stereotypes still exist. Many people make stereotypes because they do not have all the

This can be seen in the article, It s Not Me, It s You , by Annie Murphy Paul (The New York Times).
This article talks about a phenomenon called stereotype threat . Stereotype threat is a situation where
people feel pressure to conform to negative stereotypes about their group. This article explores how
this mindset can easily affect how someone might think and act. Members of groups believed to be
academically inferior... score much lower on tests when reminded beforehand of their race or gender...
the performance of these students suffered because they were worried about confirming negative
stereotypes. If this problem is not addressed, then many people might become more self conscious
about themselves and their abilities. As seen in the quote above, even being reminded of negative
stereotypes towards their group, causes people to believe them, and lower their academic
performance. If these negative stereotypes are presented to someone constantly over time, they will
begin to think that they are those stereotypes. An individual s personality and character can be
changed due to these biases. This has terrible consequences to someone s everyday life. The lowered
self esteem, in addition with their mindset of, If I m always wrong, why should I even try? might
mean that someone doesn t take a risk or jump on opportunities. Negative stereotypes can result in
someone to believe something that is not always necessarily true about them, and damage one s

My Time Playing Grand Theft Aut
As of now I have put in somewhere around 30 days of gameplay time into Grand Theft Auto 5 and am

all time. This is a game that I really don t myself stop playing anytime soon as they keep releasing
more downloadable content to go along with the already large amount of replayability. Grand Theft
Auto 5 had a lot of hype surrounding its release and I would say that it did indeed live up to the what

Plato s Theory of Human Knowledge Essay
Plato s Theory of Human Knowledge
Plato contended that all true knowledge is recollection. He stated that we all have innate knowledge
that tells us about the things we experience in our world. This knowledge, Plato believed, was gained
when the soul resided in the invisible realm, the realm of The Forms and The Good.
Plato s theory of The Forms argued that everything in the natural world is representative of the ideal of
that form. For example, a table is representative of the ideal form Table. The form is the perfect ideal
on which the physical table is modeled. These forms do not exist in the natural world, as they are
perfect, and there is nothing perfect in the natural world. Rather the forms exist in the invisible realm,

is recollected.
However, in proving that what we call learning is actually recollection, Plato also proved that the soul
is immortal. As was stated, there is no example of true perfection in our world. Yet, we can imagine
the idea of perfection. Where could this idea come from if we have not experienced it in our world?
We must have experienced it at some point if the idea is within us.
Thus, Plato argued that the soul must have existed outside of the natural world. In order for this to be
so, it must be immortal, living before it came into this world. It only stands to reason, Plato contended,
that it must continue to exist after it leaves this world. How else would it have been in existence
before it came into this world? Plato believed that it was a rational assumption that our soul must
continue to exist even after our death.
Whether Plato believed that the soul migrates from one lifetime to another, one body to another, some
would say is unclear. However, I believe that the idea of recollection leans heavily on the assumption
that the soul is residing within the invisible realm before it comes into existence in the physical realm.
If the soul migrates from one body to another at one person s death and another s birth, then we would
still have no explanation for the soul s knowledge of the forms. For wouldn t the previous life have
been spent in the natural world, just as this life is? As has already been argued,

It is a particular sensation, this double consciousness, this sense of always looking at one s self

Gregory and Mike questioned the reason for the violence. An African American boy gave then a sharp

The Importance Of Female Careers In Liberal Arts
Although I m not happy with my result, it doesn t surprise me. Being a female currently studying
liberal arts, while my fiancé studies Aquarian Science the implicit association with Science and
Liberal Arts in my household strengths my results. Majority of my female friends either have or are
working towards a degree in the liberal arts field, so naturally I associate topics such as literature,
history and art to females. This isn t to say females are incapable of careers in the field of science, just
as males are not incapable of careers in liberal arts. One thing that comes to mind is female and male
nurses. A nursing degree is considered a degree in science, which based on my results would mean I

Picasso Vs Velazquez
ZOOM
Velazquez and Picasso painted many of the same things. They have similarities as Picasso s are simply
new renditions of the original ones that were made by Velazquez. They also have differences because
Picasso had a very different art style from Velazquez. They had many paintings that were remade by
picasso years after to bring back the art of Velazquez the royal painter. That was just kind of Picasso s
style.Their paintings had a lot of differences. For example Velazquez painted many people helping out
the young princess. Picasso only had a one maid helping her with tasks. Velazquez has a very realistic
rendition while Picasso s is more abstract. Velazquez s looks almost like it was a picture of the event
taking place but Picasso s is very polygonal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two of them are of the same event taking place. They are also both supposed to get the same
thought across in their respective styles of doing so. Both paintings are named exactly the same thing.
Although their specialties may be different both artists painted this painting at their best with their
special strategies.I think that Velazquez was just trying to do his job and portray the real scene of
maids helping the princess with some tasks as he was supposed to. I think that Picasso was trying to
portray the same thing that Velazquez was trying to portray and he just wanted to put his own classic
abstract spin on the realistic painting by painting it in the style of his own paintings.. I think that
Velazquez decided that he was going to make this painting because it was his job and he liked to paint
portrayals of certain events happening with the royal family in their life. he just enjoyed his job it

part of what he does is repaint old paintings from past painters. He just liked to take something that

4.1 Research Approaches
One of the questions that an organization must decide before conducting research is which research
approach will be most appropriate. The approach chosen will depend on the research question and the
type of information is seeking. There are three general research approaches; descriptive, exploratory
and causal (Kolb, 2008).
.
Descriptive research
Descriptive research is used when statistical data are needed on a fact. The tool used to conduct
descriptive research is almost always surveys (Kolb, 2008).
Exploratory research
Researchers should use exploratory research when a research question deals with finding information
on consumer attitudes, opinions and beliefs. Such exploratory research can be useful even when ...

Up to this point, we have discussed various aspects of sampling as though they were discrete and

called the sample plan, which the researcher goes through to draw and ultimately arrive at the final
sample. These steps are listed and described in Table .

Readiness Audit For Gulliver Academy
Readiness Audit for Gulliver Academy
A curriculum management audit is an examination of a schools curriculum including the way it is
written and delivered to students (Phi delta kappa international: Growing and connecting leaders in
education, n.d.). The auditing team will compare 5 standards to the schools curriculum (Phi delta
kappa international: Growing and connecting leaders in education, n.d.). A team of auditors will use
the 5 standards to evaluate the effectiveness of a curriculum. The auditing team is usually comprised
of administrators, lead teachers, and a curriculum specialist. The audit team will conduct site visits,
interviews, and use documents to determine if the curriculum was written correctly, taught properly,
and tested effectively (Phi delta kappa international: Growing and connecting leaders in education,
n.d.). After a curriculum audit is completed a list of findings is given to the person who ordered the
audit (B. Poston, personal communication, July 30, 2014). The school will then have to make
adjustments to the curriculum; this can include eliminating programs or practices completely,
adjusting them, or improving upon them (English, 2008). An audit team is usually put in place to
conduct an audit but this time only one person was used. Bret Ginsberg who is an administrative
assistant was chosen to use one of 5 curriculum audit standards against the 5th grade English
curriculum. Standard 2 was chosen for the audit. Standard 2 states: a school system

American Exceptionalism And Manifest Destiny
The United States had the belief that American settlers were meant to stretch from coast to
coast. In the 1840s, Manifest Destiny enhanced the western settlement and provided a motivation
for continued territorial expansion. It formed war with Mexico and Native Americans were removed
from their territory.
Manifest Destiny is belief the United States was destined by God to expand throughout
the continent. Manifest Destiny was caused by the fact that the American people were
historically connected to English civilization. This made them feel superior in America because
they had power and control over the other people that lived there. The Americans were white and

wanting to grow. For America to get bigger, they have to control as much as possible to concur

Manifest Destiny continues to have significance for the United States and the rest of the
world. We continue to try to see the world in our image. Everyone has their own perspective on
the world. One aspect of Manifest Destiny was the idea that we had the best culture and
government in the world. This thought made us want to spread out and take more territory. It is
as we want most of the world under our culture and government. Today, we don t have the right
to more land, but we still have the best culture and government. We influence all other countries
to be more like us. This is one of the reasons many immigrants come from different countries to
be under the best. This can be seen as evidence that the idea of Manifest Destiny remains with
us today. Many countries will not have as much land as we do, but they can try to get as good as

Colonialism By Hernan Cortes Summary
Colonialism, according to Webster s dictionary, is the policy or practice of acquiring full or partial
political control over another country, occupying it with settlers, and exploiting it economically (1).
Hernan Cortes was a Spanish conquistador, who against the wishes of the crown, set out on an
expedition in 1519 to conquer a new world. Hernan Cortes came with the sole intent to conquer and
economically exploit the new world he intended to conquer. Wikipedia does a decent job at providing
reliable information, but I would argue that there are multiple areas the author can expand on to help
expand the perspective beyond that of a bias. The first suggestion that I would make in this Wikipedia
article would be to provide a more objective view of the native allies/allies, to get an all encompassing
idea of what actually happened. The perspective of this article is that of the Spanish conquistador,
while acknowledging that the author gives nods to various indigenous groups. This is shown through
the authors use of providing only surface level claims, not revealing the true intentions of Cortes
Expedition. In the text, there is a claim made by Cortés that stated the natives think of us as gods, or
godlike beings because the Aztecs and Montezuma thought Cortés was the Aztec god Quatizquatoal
returning. The description of the interaction is mentioned when the author states that Cortes attempted
to frighten the Aztec delegation with a display of his firepower (), this use

Wide Open Spaces Rhetorical Analysis
Transcendentalism is to understand who oneself is by having confidence, free thought, and self
reliance. It is to isolate themselves from society and find themselves through nature, to find what they
want and who they are. They must have self reliance and leave the people they know, and isolate
themselves from society, so they will not be told who they are or who they should be. Going into
nature without the luxuries and only the essentials, confidence is imperative. They have to be
confident in themselves to know they can survive on their own. Free thought is also crucial because

Transcendentalists believe that they have enough. They don t need nice items, as long as it works, then
it is good enough for them. Three meals are not necessary. People tell one to eat three meals a day, but

Emily Dickinson 409 Analysis
Emily Dickinson is one of the most influential figures in American literature. Her unusual character
and style has made her become one of America s best and most original poets of all time. She
composed almost 1800 poems, but fewer than a dozen were published in her lifetime. In her poems,
she expresses her feelings about identity, religion, nature, love, and death. Her poems tell us a lot
about her lifestyle, which was very private and reserved from society. In poems 260 and 409 it talks
about the theme of identity. Although they consist of the same theme, there are differences in meaning,
tone, and narration.

Process Essay On How To Pitch A Four-Seam Fastball
Pitching is an artwork, the velocity, accuracy, and curve of the ball determines the success of a pitcher.
Just like every professional athlete in order to be a good player you have to know the fundamentals
such as, how to throw a pitch. In order to throw a pitch one has to follow three key steps: First, grip
the ball; afterward, get ready to throw a pitch; and finally, throw the pitch.
There are several ways to through a baseball, the various grips of the ball determines how your pitch
will curve whether it be diagonally, vertically or even horizontally. There are numerous grips, but the
most basic ones are the four seam fastball and curveball. In order to grip a four seam fastball, spread
the index and ring finger slightly, place the tips of the fingers barely over the laces of the ball, and use
the other fingers to hold the ball firmly. Four seam fastball is a pitch that provides for great location
and velocity. But if one feels the need to trick a batter and add more curve into a pitch, the curveball is
the best choice. In order to throw a curveball, place the index and middle fingers, close and tight next
to each other on the seams, and use the other fingers to grasp the ball firmly. Keep the ball inside the

Computer Engineering At Shanghai Jiao Tong University

I was honored to be admitted to the dual degree program of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the

different kinds of microprocessors. Writing software that is so close to hardware made me curious
about how these microprocessor s internal architecture works. Therefore, I declared my major in
Computer Engineering when I started my junior year at the University of Michigan. However, what
really got me excited about the field of computer architecture was the Computer Architecture course.
The course gave me the opportunity to build a synthesizable two way out of order MIPS R10K based

In this context, the role of writing is little different from its role in any other subject; it allows students
to see how they are progressing and to get feedback from the teacher, to monitor and diagnose
problems. Successful writing depends on more than the ability to produce clear and correct sentences.
Writing tasks which have whole texts as their outcome relate appropriately to the ultimate goal of
those learners who need to write English in their social, educational or professional lives. Some
students know already what they need to be able to write in English. Others may be uncertain about
the nature of their future needs. Our role as teachers is to build communicative potential. Many
students have to prove their competence in English and sometimes in other subjects by producing
compositions for examinations. [1; 25]
Classroom writing tasks should reflect the ultimate goal of enabling students to write whole texts
which form connected, contextualized, and appropriate pieces of communication.
One approach to writing is to look at instance of writing and to analyse the features of the written text.
This will tell us something about what students have to produce. It is possible to build up a list of
skills that writers need:
getting the grammar right;

aspects, angels, and ideas, come into play. When choosing a product by the form of advertisement, the
viewer chooses the best ad that appeals to his/her needs/wants. This requires the advertisement
producer to analysis the target audience. In Motor Trend Merica, there are two advertisements for two

These ads are completely different because they have diverse audiences. When determining who the
target audience is for these two products, it is essential for the analyzer, to search outside of the box.
First thing to consider is the magazine. The name alone can shed light onto the two targeted audiences.
The first part is Motor Trend and this can shrink the audience to, car enthusiast. The second is Merica .
The online Urban dictionary describes Merica as, [a] whole new way of saying America. ... Merica is
the whole experience of America summed up in a stereotypical way. Eating anything deep fried,
shooting shotguns, getting so fat you attempt to use the force to levitate [something] off the coffee
table.... It is often expressed in a proud and commonly exaggerated manor. This phrase is one to be
only used when the time comes to say it, like at a[n] eating contest or at a mud pit wrestling match. (*)
This demonstrates that the audience for this magazine is also countrified and patriotic individuals.
When analyzing each individual ad, the audiences veers off into two completely different directions.
In an interview with a Delta College student named Tyler Sanford, he expressed how the Toyo Tires
advertisement snatched more of his attention because of its masculinity. The question that follows is,
was this a hidden message to reel the viewer in and in result, the viewer would search for the meaning
behind the advertisement? In a different interview with Larry

Symbolism In Boxes By Raymond Carver
What is the importance of a title? Every author carefully chooses a name for their story as a means of

in the case of Boxes by Raymond Carver, which tells the story of a son and his relationship with his

inability to find contentment becomes the main focus. Unfortunately, the mother believes that the

Sadly, within the first few paragraphs of the story, the author presents Jill s frustration with the mother,
God, we been over there to eat two or three times in this last month alone. Is she ever actually going to

Finally, the narrator seems to suggest that Jill is free from any psychological boxes Jill always says
what s on her mind (582). The son states this as if to suggest that she does not hide or conceal any
thoughts, unlike the son who has to conceal certain thoughts and feeling as not to hurt his mother s

The Intelligence Of The Cia Triad Network Security
Introduction
Over the last few years the amount of security breaches that have been reported have had one factor
that has been prevalent in majority of the attacks. That factor is the employee s and how they are
manipulated into giving the intruder/hacker exactly what they needed without realizing it. The use of
social engineering in data breaches and fraud has been steadily increasing over the years.
Confidentiality, integrity, and availability the three components of the CIA triad in network security
can all be compromised by the risk of social engineering.
Definition of Social Engineering
Social engineering also known as people hacking is the art of utilizing human behavior to breach
security without the victim even realizing that they have been manipulated. Social engineering can be
further broken down to three methodologies.
1. Phishing The sending of emails appearing to be from a reputable source with the goal of gaining
personal information from the victim(s)
2. Vishing This is the practice of getting information from the victim or attempting to Influence
actions by the use of a telephone.
3. Impersonation This is the practice of pretending to be another person with the goal of obtaining
information or access to a person, company, or computer system.
Categories of Social Engineering
Social engineering attacks fall under to main categories:

Tax Policy in Nigeria
INTRODUCTION
A tax policies represent key resource allocator between the public and private sectors in a country. It is
usually imposed on individuals and entity that make up a country. The funds provided by tax are used
by the states to support certain state obligations such as education systems, health care systems,
pensions for the elderly, unemployment benefits, and public transportation. A nation s tax system is
often a reflection of its communal values or the values of those in power. To create a system of
taxation, a nation must make choices regarding the distribution of the tax burden who will pay taxes
and how much they will pay and how the taxes collected will be spent.
In Nigeria, the taxation system dates back to 1904 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
CHALLENGES OF THE DRAFT NATIONAL TAX POLICY
A thorough examination of the current national taxation policy reveal that it is comprehensive when
compared with earlier attempts at designing a policy. However, there are some perceived challenges
that this draft is likely going to face because of the experiences of past taxation laws. These challenges
are as follows:
Administrative Challenge. Experience has shown that the institutional capacity to administer taxes
effectively is woefully lacking in this country. Procedures, reinforced by third party audits, appear to
ensure that taxes are paid and received albeit with potentially serious and costly internal lags.
However, Nigeria lacks capacity to assess the reasonableness of the returns submitted by taxpayers,
including costs and staffing, skills, pay scales, and other funding, and computer and Information
Technology (IT) infrastructure. Meanwhile the current draft has not put in place an administrative
strategy.
Compliance Challenges. A recurring problem with PIT Nigeria is the non compliance of employers to
register their employees and to remit

How Does Captain Nemo Show Honor
Captain Nemo: The Man Who Demonstrates Honor Perhaps one of the most superior personality traits
honor is sometimes overlooked. In Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, Brutus honor lives even
when he doesn t. After Brutus dies at Marc Antony s feet, he reminds people Brutus legacy was the
most honorable. This was the noblest Roman of them all: All the conspirators, save only he
[Brutus]...and common good to all, made one of them. (act 5, scene 5, lines 74 78) Similarly, in the
novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Captain Nemo exhibits a compelling persona through his arcane
history and honorable personality. Much like the classic green thumb farmer, diesel breathing gear
heads, or friendly, salty surfers of the west coast, Captain Nemo is the archetypal nautical equivalent
of honorable characters seen in famous movies such as Quint from Jaws and Santiago in The Old Man
and The Sea. With rigidity and an unknown past, Captain Nemo expresses positive characteristics that
almost everyone can learn from. In the late 1800s sailors and explorers used sea monsters and other
myths as an answer for the unknown. However, quite contradictory to a Leviathan or enormous
cetacean, (Verne, 23) Jules Verne brought a colossus of a submarine into the novel. This is the first
glimpse we get of Captain Nemo, the man behind the underwater vessel. Sophistication has been and
always will be something admired by society. Understanding Jules Verne s futuristic style of writing,
the audience as well as characters in the novel, for example Pierre Arronax honor Nemo, Monsieur, I
said to Captain Nemo, The honour of being the first to set foot on this land [Antarctica] belongs to
you, (Verne, 132). Having shortcomings to some magnitude, all humans try to strive to be better.
Captain Nemo shows this by taking Pierre as a world traveling companion. Honor is related closely
with admiration, because people respect others who overcome low points in life. Captain Nemo has an
arcane history granting him with experience and wisdom. The objective lens Captain Nemo uses to
evaluate every scenario is present throughout the novel. I am the law, I am the justice. (Verne, 197)
This quote refers to when Captain Nemo sunk a ship that had

Intermolecular Forces
Oakland Schools Chemistry Resource Unit Intermolecular Forces Brook R. Kirouac David A.
Consiglio, Jr. Southfield‐Lathrup High School Southfield Public Schools Bonding: Intermolecular
Forces Content Statements: C2.2: Chemical Potential Energy Potential energy is stored whenever
work must be done to change the distance between two objects. The attraction between the two objects
may be gravitational, electrostatic, magnetic, or strong force. Chemical potential energy is the result of
electrostatic attractions between atoms. C3.3: Heating Impacts Heating increases the kinetic

Now we will focus on intermolecular forces. The Nature of Intermolecular Forces: The Intermolecular
Forces (forces between molecules) are weaker than Intramolecular Forces (The Chemical Bonds
within an Individual Molecule). This distinction is the reason we define the molecule in the first place.
The properties of matter result from the properties of the individual molecule (resulting from chemical
bonding) and how the molecules act collectively (resulting from intermolecular forces).
Intermolecular Forces are longest ranged (act strongly over a large distance) when they are
electrostatic. Interaction of Charge Monopoles (simple charges) is the longest ranged electrostatic
force. Charge Charge forces (found in ionic crystals) For like charges (+,+) or ( , ), this force is always
repulsive. For unlike charges (+, ), this force is always attractive. Charge Dipole Forces: An uncharged
molecule can still have an electric dipole moment. Electric Dipoles arise from opposite but equal
charges separated by a distance. Molecules that possess a dipole moment are called Polar molecules
(remember the polar covalent bond?). Water is polar and has a dipole moment of 1.85 Debye. The
Debye is a unit of dipole moment and has a value of 3.336 x 10 30 Coulomb meter. When salt is
dissolved in water, the ions of the salt dissociate from each other and associate with the dipole of the
water molecules. This results in a solution

The Philosophical View Of Mathematics
Many philosophers use pure mathematics and/or mathematical truths as a basis for their philosophical
claims. Saying that beliefs and concepts are possible because of mathematics is possible due to the
unchanging nature of the subject. Mathematics is known to be an absolute truth that is not doubted,
allowing it act as a fixed truth for new ideas. However, what would life and philosophy be like if we
did not have a basis of pure mathematics and/or mathematical truths to rely on?
Descartes based almost all of his claims on the fact that mathematics, was what he called the most
certain truth (Descartes). Without that basis of mathematics, many of his claims of what does and does
not exist would have no meaning. Descartes claims that because mathematics exists as something
clear and certain, it must be possible for other things to exist in this same manner. He uses this
argument to defend more conceptual and philosophical beliefs like his belief in God. Descartes says I
no less find the idea of a God in my consciousness, that is the idea of a being supremely perfect, than
that of any figure or number (Descartes). When analyzing this quote, Descartes is saying that he finds
the idea of God just as plausible as that of the reliable figures and numbers that are present in
mathematics. However, if mathematics wasn t plausible, would that mean that God is henceforth
implausible by association? This seemingly necessary association is shown more clearly when
Descartes

The metal implants on the side of her head, temporarily obscured by her long brown hair, they did assist her in working with who was directly in front of her but with people like this mystery woman, Stephanie didn t really need them. She could spot anxious a mile away and while the turian s faceplates weren t as expressive as the average salarian or human, she could almost smell it on her. Deciding to go for sickly sweet charming as opposed to the rough, gruff exchange she was going to use for her, Stephanie relaxed against the hard plaster of the chair and she made a big show of crossing her legs over one another, slipping so easily into the seductress ... Stephanie tapped a button on the padd and brought up the first real search location the two would need to go through. So, me and you are going to head to the markets and see if we can find some of the tracker locations. We shouldn t need any guns for that. If we do run into trouble though... Stephanie took a seat back and her bright brown eyes flashed with blue and her whole body shimmered in the biotic light as if to reassure the turian woman. You know what Vita, I think me and you are going to be an awesome team together. Stephanie said with a smile, her teeth and eyes both shining so brightly underneath the flashing lights of the hip nightclub. I believe Ronald Reagan had a successful presidency because he ended the Cold War, developed Reaganomics , and revitalized the GOP. Ronald Reagan was president during the Cold War era. During this era, communism was becoming a major threat in the world, and the Soviet Union was a major communist power. Reagan did not like the Soviet Union, calling them an evil empire , and he believed that the US not only had a foreign policy duty to oppose but a moral duty to compete with the USSR as well. Reagan wanted to develop his own economic policy, as he claimed an undue tax burden, excessive government regulation, and massive social spending programs restricted economic growth. Therefore, Reagan develops a new tax program, at which is now referred to as Reaganomics . This plan began with Reagan s Economic Recovery Tax Act of 1981, aggressively cutting income taxes from 70 percent to 28 percent for the top income tax rate, and from 48 percent to 34 percent for the corporate tax rate by the end of his term. Reagan did this because of his knowledge in Trickle down economics, as he knew that the wealthy played a large role in that of the lower and middle class economies. Reagan also began his work with employment, as he created 20 million new jobs and Unemployment fell from 7.6% to 5.5% by 1988. • 8. The Impact Of Cultural Diversity On An Organization Past experiences have demonstrated that cultural diversity in an organization can lead to issues. For instance, the implementation of a strategy in a context different from where it has been created can be difficult, conflicts between subsidiaries and the headquarters can exist, or management of intercultural teams can be problematic. Walmart in Germany is a relevant example of the cultural context importance when it comes to HRM. In fact, in 1997 and 1998, Walmart acquired two companies in Germany but it was a failure. It can be explained by the fact that feedback of the employees was ignored by managers. For example, in the morning they had to do exercise while singing the name of the brand. This practice may be a morale booster in the United States but in Germany it was seen in a really bad way, such as the practice of spying on colleagues, what can surely be related to the country s history, among others examples. The US management practices was not in accordance with the German cultural context. (Macaray, 2011) That is why intercultural management cannot be ignored when it comes to the organization performance, and the universal best practice approach to HRM have to be critically considered because what is appropriate to a specific environment will not systematically be for another. Before, intercultural management did not existed. The universalist approach, which is inspired by the success encountered by Taylor and Ford s concepts until the 1950s, asserts that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Along with this, the Brown versus Board of Education ruling gave hope to blacks and colored people throughout Africa and Asia that in the U.S. regardless of your skin color, prosperity and equality are possible. The end of equal but separate facilities is the most important outcome from the Brown versus Board of Education ruling. During the late 1800 s many states declared that blacks and whites could not use the same restrooms, ride the same buses, or attend the same schools. Even though this was a state law, many people disagreed with this, and thought that the law was insane. Basically this law permitted segregation amongst race. The law stated that the segregation amongst people was allowed as long as the facilities, homes, or whatever was separated was equal. In most scenarios this was not the case. Due to the pure outrage of this law the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) was created in 1909. This organization s primary goals are to safeguard and secure social, educational, political, and economic equality amongst all people. Also they attempt to destroy racial disgust and discrimination. For years before the Brown versus Board of education case came about, the NAACP was trying to persuade Congress on other laws to help protect blacks from lynchings and other racist actions. • 18. Plato s Theory of Human Knowledge Essay Plato s Theory of Human Knowledge Plato contended that all true knowledge is recollection. He stated that we all have innate knowledge that tells us about the things we experience in our world. This knowledge, Plato believed, was gained when the soul resided in the invisible realm, the realm of The Forms and The Good. Plato s theory of The Forms argued that everything in the natural world is representative of the ideal of that form. For example, a table is representative of the ideal form Table. The form is the perfect ideal on which the physical table is modeled. These forms do not exist in the natural world, as they are perfect, and there is nothing perfect in the natural world. Rather the forms exist in the invisible realm, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... is recollected. However, in proving that what we call learning is actually recollection, Plato also proved that the soul is immortal. As was stated, there is no example of true perfection in our world. Yet, we can imagine the idea of perfection. Where could this idea come from if we have not experienced it in our world? We must have experienced it at some point if the idea is within us. Thus, Plato argued that the soul must have existed outside of the natural world. In order for this to be so, it must be immortal, living before it came into this world. It only stands to reason, Plato contended, that it must continue to exist after it leaves this world. How else would it have been in existence before it came into this world? Plato believed that it was a rational assumption that our soul must continue to exist even after our death. Whether Plato believed that the soul migrates from one lifetime to another, one body to another, some would say is unclear. However, I believe that the idea of recollection leans heavily on the assumption that the soul is residing within the invisible realm before it comes into existence in the physical realm. If the soul migrates from one body to another at one person s death and another s birth, then we would still have no explanation for the soul s knowledge of the forms. For wouldn t the previous life have been spent in the natural world, just as this life is? As has already been argued, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Colonialism By Hernan Cortes Summary Colonialism, according to Webster s dictionary, is the policy or practice of acquiring full or partial political control over another country, occupying it with settlers, and exploiting it economically (1). Hernan Cortes was a Spanish conquistador, who against the wishes of the crown, set out on an expedition in 1519 to conquer a new world. Hernan Cortes came with the sole intent to conquer and economically exploit the new world he intended to conquer. Wikipedia does a decent job at providing reliable information, but I would argue that there are multiple areas the author can expand on to help expand the perspective beyond that of a bias. The first suggestion that I would make in this Wikipedia article would be to provide a more objective view of the native allies/allies, to get an all encompassing idea of what actually happened. The perspective of this article is that of the Spanish conquistador, while acknowledging that the author gives nods to various indigenous groups. This is shown through the authors use of providing only surface level claims, not revealing the true intentions of Cortes Expedition. In the text, there is a claim made by CortĂ©s that stated the natives think of us as gods, or godlike beings because the Aztecs and Montezuma thought CortĂ©s was the Aztec god Quatizquatoal returning. All aspects, angels, and ideas, come into play. When choosing a product by the form of advertisement, the viewer chooses the best ad that appeals to his/her needs/wants. This requires the advertisement producer to analysis the target audience. In Motor Trend Merica, there are two advertisements for two identical products, tires. However, both of these ads are effective to two separate audiences. One ad aims to the countrified side of men and the other towards urbanized men. However, both of these ads can attract female individuals. So ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These ads are completely different because they have diverse audiences. When determining who the target audience is for these two products, it is essential for the analyzer, to search outside of the box. First thing to consider is the magazine. The name alone can shed light onto the two targeted audiences. The first part is Motor Trend and this can shrink the audience to, car enthusiast. The second is Merica . The online Urban dictionary describes Merica as, [a] whole new way of saying America. ... Merica is the whole experience of America summed up in a stereotypical way. Eating anything deep fried, shooting shotguns, getting so fat you attempt to use the force to levitate [something] off the coffee table.... It is often expressed in a proud and commonly exaggerated manor. This phrase is one to be only used when the time comes to say it, like at a[n] eating contest or at a mud pit wrestling match. (*) This demonstrates that the audience for this magazine is also countrified and patriotic individuals. When analyzing each individual ad, the audiences veers off into two completely different directions. In an interview with a Delta College student named Tyler Sanford, he expressed how the Toyo Tires advertisement snatched more of his attention because of its masculinity. The question that follows is, was this a hidden message to reel the viewer in and in result, the viewer would search for the meaning behind the advertisement? In a different interview with Larry ... • 40. Symbolism In Boxes By Raymond Carver What is the importance of a title? Every author carefully chooses a name for their story as a means of interesting the reader and stating a theme or symbol that is used throughout the story. That factor is the employee s and how they are manipulated into giving the intruder/hacker exactly what they needed without realizing it. The use of social engineering in data breaches and fraud has been steadily increasing over the years. Confidentiality, integrity, and availability the three components of the CIA triad in network security can all be compromised by the risk of social engineering. Definition of Social Engineering Social engineering also known as people hacking is the art of utilizing human behavior to breach security without the victim even realizing that they have been manipulated. Social engineering can be further broken down to three methodologies. 1. Phishing The sending of emails appearing to be from a reputable source with the goal of gaining personal information from the victim(s) 2. Vishing This is the practice of getting information from the victim or attempting to Influence actions by the use of a telephone. 3. • 42. Tax Policy in Nigeria INTRODUCTION A tax policies represent key resource allocator between the public and private sectors in a country. It is usually imposed on individuals and entity that make up a country. The funds provided by tax are used by the states to support certain state obligations such as education systems, health care systems, pensions for the elderly, unemployment benefits, and public transportation. A nation s tax system is often a reflection of its communal values or the values of those in power. CHALLENGES OF THE DRAFT NATIONAL TAX POLICY A thorough examination of the current national taxation policy reveal that it is comprehensive when compared with earlier attempts at designing a policy. However, there are some perceived challenges that this draft is likely going to face because of the experiences of past taxation laws. These challenges are as follows: Administrative Challenge. Experience has shown that the institutional capacity to administer taxes effectively is woefully lacking in this country. Procedures, reinforced by third party audits, appear to ensure that taxes are paid and received albeit with potentially serious and costly internal lags. However, Nigeria lacks capacity to assess the reasonableness of the returns submitted by taxpayers, including costs and staffing, skills, pay scales, and other funding, and computer and Information Technology (IT) infrastructure. Meanwhile the current draft has not put in place an administrative strategy. Compliance Challenges. A recurring problem with PIT Nigeria is the non compliance of employers to register their employees and to remit ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. How Does Captain Nemo Show Honor Captain Nemo: The Man Who Demonstrates Honor Perhaps one of the most superior personality traits honor is sometimes overlooked. In Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, Brutus honor lives even when he doesn t. After Brutus dies at Marc Antony s feet, he reminds people Brutus legacy was the most honorable. This was the noblest Roman of them all: All the conspirators, save only he [Brutus]...and common good to all, made one of them. (act 5, scene 5, lines 74 78) Similarly, in the novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Captain Nemo exhibits a compelling persona through his arcane history and honorable personality. Much like the classic green thumb farmer, diesel breathing gear heads, or friendly, salty surfers of the west coast, Captain Nemo is the archetypal nautical equivalent of honorable characters seen in famous movies such as Quint from Jaws and Santiago in The Old Man and The Sea. With rigidity and an unknown past, Captain Nemo expresses positive characteristics that almost everyone can learn from. In the late 1800s sailors and explorers used sea monsters and other myths as an answer for the unknown. However, quite contradictory to a Leviathan or enormous cetacean, (Verne, 23) Jules Verne brought a colossus of a submarine into the novel. This is the first glimpse we get of Captain Nemo, the man behind the underwater vessel. Sophistication has been and always will be something admired by society. Understanding Jules Verne s futuristic style of writing, the audience as well as characters in the novel, for example Pierre Arronax honor Nemo, Monsieur, I said to Captain Nemo, The honour of being the first to set foot on this land [Antarctica] belongs to you, (Verne, 132). Having shortcomings to some magnitude, all humans try to strive to be better. Captain Nemo shows this by taking Pierre as a world traveling companion. Honor is related closely with admiration, because people respect others who overcome low points in life. Captain Nemo has an arcane history granting him with experience and wisdom. The objective lens Captain Nemo uses to evaluate every scenario is present throughout the novel. I am the law, I am the justice. The attraction between the two objects may be gravitational, electrostatic, magnetic, or strong force. Chemical potential energy is the result of electrostatic attractions between atoms. C3.3: Heating Impacts Heating increases the kinetic (translational, rotational, and vibrational) energy of the atoms composing elements and the molecules or ions composing compounds. As the kinetic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now we will focus on intermolecular forces. The Nature of Intermolecular Forces: The Intermolecular Forces (forces between molecules) are weaker than Intramolecular Forces (The Chemical Bonds within an Individual Molecule). This distinction is the reason we define the molecule in the first place. The properties of matter result from the properties of the individual molecule (resulting from chemical bonding) and how the molecules act collectively (resulting from intermolecular forces). Intermolecular Forces are longest ranged (act strongly over a large distance) when they are electrostatic. Interaction of Charge Monopoles (simple charges) is the longest ranged electrostatic force. Charge Charge forces (found in ionic crystals) For like charges (+,+) or ( , ), this force is always repulsive. For unlike charges (+, ), this force is always attractive. Charge Dipole Forces: An uncharged molecule can still have an electric dipole moment. Electric Dipoles arise from opposite but equal charges separated by a distance. Molecules that possess a dipole moment are called Polar molecules (remember the polar covalent bond?). Water is polar and has a dipole moment of 1.85 Debye. The Debye is a unit of dipole moment and has a value of 3.336 x 10 30 Coulomb meter. When salt is dissolved in water, the ions of the salt dissociate from each other and associate with the dipole of the water molecules. This results in a solution ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. The Philosophical View Of Mathematics Many philosophers use pure mathematics and/or mathematical truths as a basis for their philosophical claims. Saying that beliefs and concepts are possible because of mathematics is possible due to the unchanging nature of the subject. Mathematics is known to be an absolute truth that is not doubted, allowing it act as a fixed truth for new ideas. However, what would life and philosophy be like if we did not have a basis of pure mathematics and/or mathematical truths to rely on? Descartes based almost all of his claims on the fact that mathematics, was what he called the most certain truth (Descartes). Without that basis of mathematics, many of his claims of what does and does not exist would have no meaning. Descartes claims that because mathematics exists as something clear and certain, it must be possible for other things to exist in this same manner. He uses this argument to defend more conceptual and philosophical beliefs like his belief in God. Descartes says I no less find the idea of a God in my consciousness, that is the idea of a being supremely perfect, than that of any figure or number (Descartes). When analyzing this quote, Descartes is saying that he finds the idea of God just as plausible as that of the reliable figures and numbers that are present in mathematics. However, if mathematics wasn t plausible, would that mean that God is henceforth implausible by association? This seemingly necessary association is shown more clearly when Descartes ...
