 First aid is the immediate aid
that is given to any person
who suffer accident or any
sudden diseases., by those
who are near to home before
taking to the patient to the
hospital or to the doctor.

1) To save life.
2) To ease the pain.
3) To avoid further
injury.
4) To prepare for
medical treatment.
5) To assist the

PRINCIPLES OF EMERGENCY
CARE
 Obtain a correct and detail history
of accident and incident.
 Examine the injured person
thoroughly
 Take note of all symptom and make
diagnosis.
 Treat the casualty as per his
diagnosis until the doctor reach or
the patient is shifted to the hospital.
 Shift the patient to hospital as soon
as possible.
GOLDEN RULES OF FIRST AID
1) Be calm , quick and methodical
. Note all major injuries and
give first aid accordingly.
2) In case of stoppage of
breathing, start artificial
respiration.
3) Try to stop bleeding as early as
possible.
4)Do not allow a patient to go with
shock. If it is not possible, transport
the patient to a near by hospital as
quickly as possible.
5) Keep the patient warm and do not
move him unnecessarily. Keep him
in a comfortable position.
6) Do only what is
necessary.
7) Reassure the casualty by
using encouraging words
and obtain the help of his
relatives.
8) Do not allow people to
crowd around the
casualty. Allow fresh air.

not cause injury.
10) Keep the body warm and avoid
shock.
11) Send the patient to hospital
immediately by quickest means of
transport.
12) When serious accident takes place
inform the police.
