Solange reflects on her expectations at the start of her teaching practicum and what she learned. She hoped to acquire the skills needed to be a successful teacher and make lessons meaningful for students. During the year, she learned many practical teaching concepts and theories but recognizes that experience is also needed to adapt them to different classrooms. She has also learned the importance of making lessons relevant to students' lives rather than just repetitive exercises. While she was initially nervous about being in front of a class, the experience improved her self-esteem and public speaking skills. Overall, her expectations of gaining teaching skills and creating meaningful lessons were fulfilled.
