primary school. 80-minutes a week. There are fifteen students in the class (7 girls
and 8 boys). One of them is absent most of the classes because of her psychological
problems. Students’ age: 11-12-13 years old.
Timetable: Tuesday, 13:10 - 13:50 hs and Wednesday, 13:10 - 13:50
Lesson 1, Tuesday 27th:

Warm-up In order to present the new topic you will
need a box. Take out the box in front of
the class. Rattle the box and have your
students try to guess what is inside.
Take out the ball and show it to the
class. Tell them that they are going to
learn about prepositions. Tell them that
prepositions are words that we use to
say where things are. Teach each
preposition by placing the ball in
different positions in relation to the box,
for example: The ball is behind the box.
Write all the prepositions on the board.
Practicing prepositions: Simon says
Have all of the students stand. They will
use the objects available in the class to
play, such as the desks and the chairs.
Play the game as you normally would,
but with each instruction use a
preposition to describe where they
4. should be in relation to the object they
are using. For example, you can give
instructions like the following:
Simon says stand on your chair.
Simon says hid under your desk.

Warm-up â—Ź Brief revision of previous class:
ask students to recall the
prepositions learned and write
them on the board.
Treasure hunt â—Ź 20 Pieces of a puzzle will be
hidden around the classroom so
that students have to follow some
specific instructions, which are
written on a map, to find them in
6. order to get all the pieces
together and solve the puzzle.
For example: “One piece is
under the chair”.
â—Ź The class will be divided in two
groups to look for the pieces and
get together to solve the puzzle.

with unknown words and will get
familiar with the song that
features prepositions and parts of
the house.
â—Ź The song will be played twice or
three times and the students will
try to fill in the blanks.
â—Ź The song will be paused after
each blank to check if all the
students have got the correct
answer. This process will be
repeated until the end of the song

along with the trainees.
