HBL is a large commercial bank in Pakistan that provides corporate banking services. It has a history dating back to 1947 and now has over 1450 branches in Pakistan and 55 worldwide. HBL uses two main systems - a older manual batch system and a newer ERP system called MIsys. The ERP system integrates functions like supply chain management, finance, customer relations and human resources to help HBL manage its business more effectively. HBL is working to fully implement the ERP system to improve customer satisfaction and service quality.

HBL established operations in Pakistan in 1947 and moved its head office
to Karachi.
Their first international branch was established in Colombo, Sri
Lanka in 1951 and Habib Bank Plaza was built in 1972 to commemorate
the
bank’s 25th Anniversary.
With a domestic market share of over 40%, HBL was nationalized in 1974
and it continued to dominate the commercial banking sector with a major
market share in inward foreign remittances (55%) and loans to small
industries, traders and farmers

On June 13, 2002 Pakistan's Privatization Commission announced that the
Government of Pakistan had formally granted the Aga Khan Fund rights to
51% of the shareholding in HBL, against an investment of PKR 22.409
billion (USD 389 million

active Investment Banking arm.

•There are currently two systems are being used by HBL.
•Simax Batch System (Manual)
•MIsys ERP System (Automatic)
Batch System:
•It is the name of computer software that performs job
scheduling manually.
•Its primary task is to allocate computational tasks.
•It is often used in conjuction with UNIX enviroments.
•In Batch system all the members of the organziation
collect data and update data to the database system
manually .

It helps a HBL to manage the important parts of its
business.
