This document summarizes a project report on the design, fabrication and testing of a solar-biomass integrated dryer. The dryer was designed and built by three mechanical engineering students at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology to dry agricultural crops. It uses both solar energy for drying during the day and a biomass stove for backup drying at night. Laboratory tests were conducted drying 55g of fresh ginger in the dryer over two days, reducing the moisture content successfully. The dryer aims to provide a more effective and hygienic alternative to traditional open-air drying methods.
