Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.

2. Genre & Target Audience
• Crime fiction, comedy, drama. During the
opening sequence it will become very clear
what the genre is and who the target
audience is.
• Adults, older teenagers
3. Setting
• Office building. Mid-day. The camera will
follow someone round, showing very
expensive houses/locations/items. It will be
obvious that the character is very rich and well
known
• Themes and icons – wealth, power, leadership
4. Narrative
• It would begin with a short clip of the main section of the film, giving a
rough idea what will happen. It then gives a bit of background information
on the main character.
• It will then show the main characters lifestyle, what he owns, what he
does for a job etc.
• Next the main characters tells us about his drug issues, all the different
drugs he takes and why and then talks about his life goals and how money
is his drug.
• This then leaves questions for the audience like, how has he become so
rich at a young age? Why does everyone love him? How has he achieved
the lifestyle he lives.
• As the film would continues it delves deeper into his business and his drug
issues and focuses on the main parts of his life and his friends.
5. Character profiles
• Businessman
• - tailored suit, obviously expensive
• - body well taken care of – hair gelled back and
clear skin.
• - Expensive watch and other items on show
• He has built his earnings and believes he is the
most powerful man in the world, all due to his
wealth and fame and also lead on by the effects
of the drugs he takes.
6. Textual analysis
• Camera – close up shots of the main character. Long shots of the main buildings,
boats etc. Tracking shots on the main character as he walks around
• Clothing – very expensive suits, very well dressed casually also
• Sound – there will be no music, only narrating from the main character
• Editing – There will be transitions from one place to another, always focusing on
the main character however it will be mainly following the main character around
instead of using various shots. Footage of the estates and yachts will be edited in.
• Effects – no effects will be used. The only possible place for effects would be when
the characters use the drugs however acting will portray the effects of the drugs
rather than effects
7. Representations
• The man will be instantly portrayed as high class and very
wealthy, in his middle twenties. Looks like a role model to
younger people.
• As the film would progress into the main section it would
show how the man is at home when no one else can see him,
we see him become a drug riddled waste
8. Institutions
Above is a list of all of the main film institutions and how many films they
have produced for each genre. This is important to take into consideration
because I want an institution with experience with producing and
distributing my film.
9. Mood board
This is American Hustle. This film
also has similar ideas to my film,
such as money laundering and illegal
activities
Wall Street. This film is set where
I want to film my movie and I
could get ideas from it and also
