Film distribution involves all activities between a film's production and its exhibition, including securing screen time from exhibitors and marketing the film to audiences. Major film studios have the most control over distribution, deciding which films get distributed and implementing appropriate marketing strategies targeted at each film's audience to ensure the film makes a profit at the box office in its first three days of release. Some major film distributors in the UK include 20th Century Fox, Columbia Pictures, Universal Pictures, Lionsgate UK, and Paramount Pictures.
