FILM DISTRIBUTION
What is a film distributor?
20th Century Fox, Lionsgate, Paramount...All of these companies
are easily recognisable as being related to film; but what do they
do?
These companies are all responsible for the distribution of films
from the producers to the consumers who are, in this case, the
audience.
Film distribution is the final crucial step in making a film as without
it, it would be impossible for films to be enjoyed by people either at
home or in the cinema.
What do they do?
Film distribution companies can be responsible for a large number of things, such as;
■ Coming up with a marketing strategy for a film
■ Deciding on the for through which the film will be available
■ Choosing the release date
■ Devising the best method for film promotion
