5. The 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots in India
The 1984 Anti Sikh Riots in India
The Anti Sikh riots in the 1984 year of riots had been anything in particular. People
are aggrieved when they hear of the incident and narrate stories of how runaway
crime could have increased on Sikhs during the time. The main reason for the
advent of the riots was the shooting down of Mrs. Indira Gandhi in morning of 31
October 1984. The riots had started off in the evening just after her morning death.
The information of the riots was already taken by Giyani Jail Singhji that meeting
of congress leaders Arun Nehru, HKL Bhagat and Jagdish Tytler and more were
deciding to give a slogan called khoon ka badla khoon . The first riot took place in
the evening near Delhi market of INA, near south Delhi.
The riots were a challenge to the government to counter the overt insurgency effects,
people security and unplanned measures. In revenge for the army raid she (Mrs.
Indira Gandhi) had approved on Amritsar s Golden temple the center of Sikh faith,
occupied by major Sikh Nationalists, was the reason purported to be the fact on the
riots gaining more fire. Officially, the 492 civilians as well as 83 soldiers had got
killed in the operation.
Also CBI the main investigating agency has been of the opinion that many such
violence based riots might have also in this incident been supported with help of
police and Central government. Later on the Rajiv Gandhi government had come to
power and he had said about the incident as when a big tree falls,
6. The Youth Health Issue Of Bi Polar Disorder
This essay will critically evaluate contemporary approaches that address the youth
health issue of bi polar disorder. It will first explain what bi polar is, how it affects
young people and how it is different from similar disorders. It will then explore
contemporary approaches to treating and managing the disorder, going into detail
on how effective each is how they are best used and if they can improve or be used
in different ways. The approaches explored will not just be ones of medication, but
psychotherapy and activity based therapies as well. By doing this the essay hopes
to give a broad range of possible treatments for bipolar whilst critically evaluating
them so that the reader gets an understanding of what is most effective for their
target audience. It is also hoped that the illness is better understood and can be
more effectively managed by youth workers and the general public. Bipolar is a
disorder which affects a young person s mood, it also has a significant impact on
their lifestyle and daily choices. During bipolar young people have times of low
mood (downs) and extreme high mood (highs), these moods usually last at least one
week and completely change how a young person may think and act (Bipolar
disorder, n.d.). Because of these mood swings, bipolar youth suffer huge
psychosocial impairment (Goldstein et al., 2009). A similar mental illness relating to
Bipolar is unipolar. This illness is spoken about less, but has the same characteristics.

7. Traditional IRA Definition
After closing the safe deposit box, closing the traditional IRA was the next task on
the administrative plan. Earlier in the administration, while in the interim, I called
the custodian of the traditional IRA to inform them of my Uncle s death. We
talked about the account, but couldn t do anything at the time because I haven t
received approval to act as executor. So, at the end of the call, the representative
said, When you receive your approval letter call back and we ll discuss the IRA.
After the call, I put aside the matter of closing the traditional IRA to deal with later.
As a few weeks went by and since been approved as executor, the custodial bank sent
me a letter in early December, 2012. In short, the letter served as a reminder... Show

I knew a little about the 5 year rule. However, I didn t want to manage an inherited
IRA for five years and run up probate costs for each year. 2)The stretch rule. I knew
even less about the stretch rule, but knew I would have to manage the inherited
IRA for a length of time based on my Uncle s life expectancy factor. Since this
option may require keeping the estate open longer than the 5 year rule, it wasn t a
viable option. 3)The lump sum distribution. I knew a tax hit would result, but it s
the best option based on what I knew at the time. Once at the bank, with my
decision made, the representative took me to her office immediately. As we took
our seats, she said to me, Have you decided how you want the taxes handled for the
IRA? Even though I made a decision, I was kind of confused at the question
because I thought we were going to discuss the options. At this point, seeing my
stunned look, she explained, Typically, when the estate is the beneficiary, people
opt for the lump sum payout and handle the taxes later. I replied, Then let s do that.
The other options require keeping the estate open longer than required and I have no
interest in doing that. So, let s close out the IRA. The representative agreed and took
me back to the waiting area so she could get the paperwork ready. To

This paper will explore the association between Quebeckers and how much the
average Quebecker really likes Canada on a scale from really dislike (0) to really
like (100). This association is relevant because the history of division between
Quebec and the rest of Canada has resulted in many referendums and resentment
that thrives today as much as it did in the past. The results may not be shocking,
but the empirical data analysis shows that the average Quebecker does not really
like Canada when the threshold for really like is set at 80 or more out of 100. The
rest of this paper will thoroughly look at the steps that it took to reach this conclusion
including a descriptive summary of the methodological considerations, a detailed...

The former variables is ranked from 0 100 where 0 is really dislike and 100 is
really like, while the latter is simply a nominal variable used for filtering cases.
This means that the province variable was used to narrow the data into Quebec
only results to allow the comparison between the two. They were specifically
chosen because they best fit the direction of the research where I wanted to
explore the relationship between overall feelings towards Canada in a particular
province: Quebec. Neither variable was recoded because it showed to be
unnecessary, in the case of provinces, and illogical for the PES11_11, a scale
variable (highest level of measurement). Since this is a scale variable, I was able to
calculate all the measures of central tendency (measures that tell us the most typical
values) and dispersion (how typical these typical central values are). These statistics
are relevant to calculate because they allow for more meaningful calculations that
allow us to draw more specific and accurate conclusions about claims such as the
standard error, confidence intervals, z scores and statistical significance.
The bar chart in Figure 1 shows the frequency that each Quebecker chose their
feelings about Canada. It shows that a majority of respondents falls at 50 or above
with the most frequent value is 100. Table 1 shows a collection of all statistics

real world, we must learn to fight are own battles (Blanco 70). The bulling got even

10. Conflict Of Conflict Management Styles
Introduction Many people do their best to avoid conflict at all costs, but it is an
occurrence that everyone must deal with from time to time. Understandable, the
avoidance of conflict is glamorous, however learning how to handle the conflicts can
make them seem less bothersome. Learning how to manage conflictis a key factor in
becoming a manager and the execution of that learning can be very different from
manager to manager. Shanker (2013) describes conflict managementstyles as an
equation involving the disposition of the manager, range of situations the manager
finds themselves in, specific strategies, and individual intentions. Every manager is
different in their conflict managementstyle, but the act of confrontation is present in
most conflicts.
Confrontation
The confrontation style of conflict management can be seen in higher performing
organizations, but can be found in all situations, professional or personal (Goncalves,
et al., 2016). Confrontation is defined as the volatile face to face interaction regarding
a particular conflict, usually regarded as aggressive or argumentative. Cahn and
Abigail (2014) offer six steps to confrontation that can aid a manager in transitioning
through a conflict. These steps include Preparation: identify your problems/needs
/issues, arrange for a time and place to meet and talk, interpersonal confrontation: talk
to the other person about your problem, consider your partner s point of view: listen,
empathize, and respond with

13. Reaction Paper On The Armenian Genocide
Genocide is the intentional murder of a massive group of people, especially those
of a certain nation or pagan group. The word genocide comes from the Greek word
genos, which means race , or tribe , and Latin word cide, which means killing . The
Armenians were forced to suffer in 1915, April when the Turks decided to organize
genocide, which was the first of the 20th century. In 1915, chiefs of the Turkish
government organized a plan to remove and butcher Armenians living in the Ottoman
Empire.at that time there were about 2 million Armenians. In the early 1920s, when
the butchers and relegations were ultimately ended, some 1.5 million of Armenians

never recognized that a genocide took place. Armenians all over the world have

14. Rough Guide To Exoplanets
Alex s Rough Guide to Exoplanets
Intro
By exploring outer space, astronomers have found distant planets, called exoplanets.
Properties of these planets can be determined by using various techniques and
technology.
The definition of an exoplanet is a planet that orbits a star outside our solar system.
The first exoplanet was discovered in 1995.
Nowadays techniques are becoming more refined and by using them predictions can
be made based on the many data points that we have for these planets. For example
the presence of certain elements can be detected via spectroscopy and then that data
can be used to aid a prediction into a planet s climate. Because there are so many
factors that determine properties such as climate the more data gathered ... Show more

This is because for a planet to be detected it must have an orbit that transits between
the observation point and the star. This means that the planet must orbit in a very
specific plane and that the plane becomes smaller for planets that orbit at a greater
distance from their host star. So planets that are detected using the transit method
are usually planets known as Hot Jupiters . To break down this description it means
that these planets are comparable to Jupiter because of their size and density, and
are described as being hot due to their closeness to their host star (usually between
0.015 and 0.05 AU) and the high surface temperature that comes with that closeness.
Also if the host star is small such as a neutron star then the size of the plane that a
transit is visible in is also reduced.
Another drawback is that the amount of false positive candidates is higher than
many other methods and it s thought that, in some cases, as many as 35% of
detected planets from Kepler are false. This means that in some cases follow up
investigation is required before a planet can be confirmed. A common source of false
positives is caused by fluctuations in the star s brightness which are not caused due to
a transiting planet but are often hard to differentiate and so they can cause false
negatives

There is now a well established test derived from Campbell, in which one must

3THE LEVESON INQUIRY
In 2011, Lord Justice Brian Leveson carried out a 16 month inquiry into the
Culture, Practices and Ethics of the British Press, as ordered by Prime Minister
David Cameron under the Inquiry Act 2005. This became widely known as The
Leveson Inquiry . The inquiry was a result of the preceding phone hacking scandals
from the News of the World, into both celebrities and victims such as Mollie Dowler.
The inquiry, whilst being deeply intrusive into the businesses practices and attitudes
of the press, highlighted the issue of newspapers breaching phone owners private
lives, often not public figures. The phone hacking was an offence in itself under
Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA), and journalists such as Clive

20. My Critique Of A Concert Experience
As you have most likely already read on my data sheet, I listened to Dr. Joe and
Friend play at Ayuthai Restaurant on November 12th. The venue features jazz
ensembles pretty often, although I am not sure why... Are the Thais even bigger
fans of jazz than the French, or is it a personal preference of the venue owner? My
first concert experience was overall pretty good. I had a difficult time recognizing
selections so I had to stay for the full two hours. I ate a lot of Thai food. Appetizer,
entree, and dessert... I would have felt like a pig if the couple seated next to be hadn
t order over double the amount of food I did. Point being, I highly recommend
Ayuthai Restaurant, and now onto my critique.
The vocalist was no Billy Holiday or Ella Fitzgerald, but she was not half bad
either! I was overjoyed whenever she joined the group. She sang two songs at the
end of the first hour and then another two at the end of the second. I was finally
able to recognize and write down some selections! I had not been able to recognize a
simple musical piece played without her accompaniment. They were not playing any
of the jazz standards that I knew. No Ain t Misbehavin , My Favorite Things, or
Body and Soul... The first song she sang was one whose instrumentation I would
have recognized, though. Orange Colored Skies is one of my favorites. I know the
words by heart, so I immediately noticed something different.
The lyrics had been trimmed a great deal, with more favor being shown to the
choruses

inner conflict; the troubles they face are for distinct and similar reasons; they want an
escape to their present state. The interpretation received when analyzing Piano was
that the narratorhimself was having a troublesome time because he aspired something
that was nostalgically unreachable for him, his childhood. What caused this
inclination to be unreachable was due to the time passing which resulted in him
becoming an adult and conforming to the constitutional systems. Snakes narrator s
inner distress came from the need to break down the structural voices and principles
that educational systems had constructed upon him. Both narrators have heavily built
up emotions for the want of liberation from the prisons that confine them to the
structures meant for them; their desires although differing in context are similar in
topic matter. There are in fact differences in what they long for, but there is no doubt
that they do desire something different from what they presently have. Both Poems
are faced with the problematic situation of inner hassle. Piano s narrator struggles
with his oppression of his emotions in sentimentality. When he is listening to the

American security has always been changing, but after the September 11, 2001
attacks, American security has never been the same. A brief explanation of what
happened is that 19 terrorists hijacked 4 planes, 2 of them hit the south and north
world trade centers and both towers collapsed killing about 2000 Americans, 1 of
the planes crashed in the pentagon killing 125 people, and in the last plane the

24. The Same Canadian Laws For Sex Work
The existing Canadian laws for sex work have recently undergone a change with the
Conservative government s new implementation of a bill to effectively decriminalize
the existence of brothels and indoor prostitution while illegalizing the advertisement
of said service and/or the purchase of said service.
This new law was originally created as a response to a Supreme Court of Canada
ruling stating that certain sections of the Criminal Code were unconstitutional in the
sense that they were being used in a way to make sex work more dangerous. Those

and film) and will serve to conclude as to why this is the case.
Canadian T.V. Serials
Now sex workers are commonly represented in the fictional universes created in
Canadian T.V. and film as women who are down on their luck and who have found
their way into the trade because they had to. Canadian T.V. has traditionally not
incorporated prostitution into very many of our programs just due to the sheer nature
of why Canadian T.V. is produced.
CBC, Rogers, and Bell CTV effectively own all national Canadian T.V. channels. The
entertainment based fictional television programs they produce generally appeal to
the widest audience possible. Because of that, lewd or profane subjects and/or
language are generally not included in these presentations.
It is rare to see an exploration of prostitution in any sort of realistic way in Canadian
television however that doesn t mean they aren t incorporated into programs now
and again. When they are however, they are generally played up cute and in a way
where the nature of their trade isn t explicitly defined but rather merely implied.
One example of this is evident in a recent episode of CBC s Murdoch Mysteries
where he enters a brothel to seek information on a train robbing duo suspected to be
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. The ladies here hint and flirt with the detective
present but nothing more is hinted at beyond this.
This isn t the first time that the title character, Detective William Murdoch, has come

25. Women In The Tang Dynasty
Throughout the long history of mankind, women s status has been through a huge
historical evolution. Ancient Chinese feminism is obviously more noticeable than
other cultures due to its feudal and conservative society. Yuan Zhen, who is a famous
Chinese writer and politician in Tang Dynasty, has written one of the greatest
masterpieces in that time period called The Story of Yingying. In the story, he reflects
the awakening of feminism in the Tang Dynastyby describing the love tragedy about
Zhang and Cui Yingying as well. However, there are a lot of different distinctions
on people s opinions on this story, and many people believe that Cui Yingying is
just simply a woman who does not know how to protect or respect herself. As time
goes by, people start to change their views as women are getting treated better and

This event makes the status of women improved a lot, and it also leads a lot of
litterateurs to start changing their view on the famous female character Cui
Yingying. Many female roles can be able to pursue their own love which
represents one aspect of feminism (DeBlasi 39 40). From many literary works,
Women in the Tang Dynasty can now fully displayed their confidence and beauty.
Feminism is the belief that woman have equal political, social, sexual, love,
intellectual and economic rights to men (Holdsworth8). Though Yingying is not
completely fitted to the whole standards, but she has chased her love and what she
does has become a progress of awakening feminism. Also her bold act to pursue
their love becomes a symbol of the awakening of feminism. The author Yuan Zhen
describes Yingying as expressions of either joy or misery seldom showed on her face
(1055). This is an expression of noble girls personality. She loves Zhang, but the
feelings are not revealed, and she tries to
26. The Short Term Mission Trips
Think about the poverty and problems that all countries around the world are facing
today and every day. As Americans we have an urge to go into these countries to
help as much as possible because of that we have begun a revolution. Americans
began going on mission trips around the 1960s but did not really pick up until the
1990s. The trend grew after multiple natural disasters, Americans saw and need and
went, since then short term missiontrips show no sign stopping anytime soon. As the
popularity of leaving our comfort zones, many people have found issues with the way
the trips are led to the extent of questioning whether or not these trips are really worth
the amount of money and time that they consume. Through periodicals, interviews,
narratives, and articles, I will show the issues and improvements that could be made
to the living situations, attitude of the Americans, and relationships that are acquired
during the short term mission trips.
In October of 1998, Hurricane Mitch slammed onto the coasts of multiple South
American countries. Countless people lost their homes, over eleven thousand
people lost their lives, and the hurricane left five billion dollars worth of damage in
its wake ( Hurricane Mitch ). This event caused a new wave of events also of short
term mission trips. Americans seeing the cities torn to shreds decided to act. For a
couple of weeks at a time, different groups would go clean up, rebuild, and show

27. Physical And Treatment Of Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy is one of the most important medical health related fields out
there. Physical Therapists play a crucial role in their patient s overall health.
However, the main goals of a Physical Therapist is to aid in recovery, rehab,
increase range of motion, and reduce pain for their patients. During a normal work
day, they will typically see a variety of patients whose age can range from an eight
year old to an 85 year old, and each one with a challenging and unique health issue.
These issues can be anything from a post surgical athlete trying to get back on the
playing field to a 65 year old grandma who has hip and knee problems and needs
exercises to strengthen those areas. In order for their patients to strengthen or
rehabilitate a certain area, a treatment plan needs to be developed. Here, PT s select
exercises, stretches, and other techniques which they think will help their patient s
recovery process and get them back to normal. Therefore, treatment plans are one of
the most important aspects of the job description. Although these Physical Therapists
are medical professionals, they cannot include everything in their treatment plans. For
example, they cannot perform surgery or give prescription medications because they
are not technically specialized or fully qualified to do so. But instead, they can
recommend their patient s to a doctor who can perform surgery on them or suggest a
medication a Physician can prescribe to them. Typically, Physical Therapists

women. Italy surpasses the United States in the Uncertainty Avoidance dimension. In
the United States we do not like change, but in Italy it is something they thrive on.
When it comes to the Long and Short Term Orientation, both Italy and the United
States are low. Italy leads by a slight percentage. Both countries have a short term
when it comes to business planning. These cultural differences are not extreme. This
does not seem like a big enough threat for the FiatChrysleralliance or merger. In
many ways Italy and the United States appear to be similar countries. In many ways
they are different too. Fiat and Chrysler still have to be cautious of even the smallest
cultural difference because it can be the difference between success and failure.
III. Internal Environment The internal environment is important to all businesses as
it directly makes impacts on the business. These factors can include resources,
management values, stakeholder goals, strategy, corporate culture, employees, and
capabilities. Fiat and Chrysler respectively have strengths and weaknesses which can
improve, or hurt, what they bring to the global auto industry.
Fiat Strengths Fiat has a strong brand, production, and marketing. Fiat started their
brand in Italy which has allowed them to grow their global business. The brand is

In life, the mind is a useful tool that helps one get things done efficiently. The way
our minds work is truly fantastic and it makes one have abilities to perform in
certain areas. Nonetheless, even though everybody has a mind of their own it is
hard to identify or explore problems and ideas. The mind is always full of things
and it makes one only focus on certain things in their lives. Most of us do not even
stop to think about things and or analyze because there is something that always
comes up. In the article, On Habit by Alain de Botton it talks about how things are
not seen in a more in depth perspective. De Botton wants people to stop and focus on
things in a different manner that can be further explored or obtained and share

The story White Tiger by Aravind Adiga follows the protagonist Balram in his
gradual journey of being powerless to being a powerful and wealthy entrepreneur
in India through a letter that he writes to the Premier of China. The struggle to
wealth is especially challenging in India and is constantly compared to the
metaphor of the Rooster Coop. The metaphor of the Rooster Coop compares
rooster in a cage to servants to their masters. Roosters are stucked in a cage and
faces grave consequence if they dare to escape similarly to servants as the can not
leave their masters and if they dare to challenge their masters and leave they will
also face grave consequences. The Rooster Coop of India perpetuates the division
of the rich and the poor. Most lower class people do not dare to challenge the way
that India is structured except for Balram. Balram s ability to... Show more content on

33. Aristotle Analysis
An examination of Aristotle s critique of the different claims to rule reveals that
because of our nature as political animals, living the good life is most practicable
under the regime of the polity. Therefore, by separating the utopian theory of a
regime and the practicable application, Aristotle shows that we can live in a state
where our virtuecontributes to the being of the city, and in the process, bring forth the
ultimate goal of the city: achieving happiness through the good life.
By laying out the case for a ruling oligarchy, Aristotleclaims the wealthy regard
justice in strictly monetary terms, saying, [oligarchs] think if they are superior in one
point, for example in wealth, they are superior in all (Aristotle 103). In other ... Show

In the ideal polity, the middle class is the binding glue of moderation among the
excess ( the very rich ) and the defect ( the very poor ). It is essential to understand
that by applying his ethics to his politics, Aristotle is claiming that we can find the
mean between the god like virtue of his perfect state through the more practical
application of moderation. True, the majority of men who rule in a polity will not
be of the most excellence, but they will be the second best excellence, which is
those in possession of much moderation. By acting as a voice of reason amidst the
excessive and defective, the middle can serve as a barrier against those who would
overstep the mean, and therefore act against virtue. This mean of moderation in
cities offers the best chance for the most people to live the good life, as Aristotle
reaffirms when he says, [in cities] moderation and the mean are always best (Aristotle

Novel...
In Daron Acemoglu and James A. Robinson s novel Why Nations Fail, they describe
the two different types of institutions in which a government correlates, inclusive and
extractive. Inclusive nations are exceedingly democratic and create legislation to
benefit the majority, while extractive institutions are authoritative and limit the
benefits to a small minority (84 89). A country s political institutionaffects the
accessibility to digital literature because of the improvement it enables. Digital
literature provides an accessible form of education that allows for people to not only
research, but it also makes it easier to come upon a sense of self identity. Additionally,
it sets a foundation for the use of new technology and provides room for change. An
education, an enlightening encounter where one gains information they had not
known prior to the experience, is ordinarily associated with receiving a degree from a
university. However, during the modern era a breakthrough resource has been
brought to life, one that allows for the massive consumption of wisdom without the
consternation that comes with spending thousands of dollars, the World Wide Web.
The popularization and practicality of the Internet has thus inevitably coined the
present period the Information Age. Among the different elements of the Internet,
digital literature, which consists of works that take advantage of the proficiencies a
computer and other sources of digital media offer, continues to become more

Needed...
The Transportation Revolution began in the early 1800 s as an effort to dramatically
improve transportation in America. The Transportation Revolution included greatly
improved roads, the development of canals, and the invention of the steamboat and
railroad. In 1800, there were only 23 cities with over 100,000 citizens by 1900 there
were 135 cities with over 100,000 citizens. There were several types of cities: cities
that focused on the textile industry, cities that produced whiskey and hemp, and other
southern cities that produced agriculture crops. The Industrial Revolution is one of
the major causes of the Transportation Revolution; each of the three economic
regions needed an affordable yet fast means of transporting their goods to... Show

The road initially was a free road but soon became a toll road. Although these roads
helped, shipping freight across them was expensive.
Next introduced were steamboats. Shipping by steamboats was cheaper and faster.
If one used a wagon, there was the cost of lifting the cargo off the ground and
keeping it there as well as the cost of moving the vehicle forward. A water vessel
had the advantage of only having the cost of moving forward because the water
lifted the cargo. The shallow draft steamboat, however, could carry large amounts
of cargo even against the flow of a river. Robert Fulton s Clermont proved the
practicality of steamboats in 1807. The Enterprise was introduced by Henry Shreve
in 1814 and proved to be the answer to transportation across shallow western waters.
By 1820, there were 60 steamboats on the Ohio and Mississippi rivers and countless
others elsewhere.
Steamboats could ply the waters of lakes and rivers but could not go where there
was no waterway so people built canals. The first successful canal was The Erie
Canal in New York stretching from the Hudson Riverat Albany, New York westward
to Buffalo, New York. The canal on Lake Erie stretched 364 miles and operated
twenty four hours a day seven days a week, opening the old Northwest and
connecting it to New York Harbor. Its production started in 1817; it turned a profit
long before it was finished in 1825. It sparked a canal boom as others tried to mimic

Common App Prompt 4 When I saw him collapse, I knew there was a problem. I
am on my high school s wrestling team, and I have been for years. However, there
is one aspect of the culture that greatly affects both me and my teammates: the
rapid weight loss techniques that are accepted in wrestling. Wrestling as a sport
operates under a weight class system. This means that in a competition, each player
only faces another person within a specific weight range. This is done to ensure
that the competition has more to do with individual skill and technique than
natural size. However, this system ensures that every player will attempt to go in
the lowest weight class that is available to him, as he would be facing smaller
opponents and thus would have an advantage. The problems arise when
competitors attempt to lose large amounts of weight in a short period of time in
order to qualify for a lower weight class. They do this by removing all the excess
fluids from their bodies through sweating, spitting, or vomiting in order to lose water
weight and qualify for a weight class. The effects of this are extremely detrimental. In
the short term, they include weakness, fatigue, headaches, and a loss of motivation.

The North began industrialization first by processing raw materials, but soon the

transform how factory work evolved forever, because with this more efficient way of
working, competition from cheaper less skilled workers... created job insecurity and

HOW THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE BLESSING HAS CHANGED MY LIFE
INTRODUCTION
The understanding of God s blessings has changed my life and has caused me to rise
above every negative circumstance that I have faced. As the years goes by I began to
reflect of God s blessings upon my life. How much He loves me and wants to bless
me, otherwise He would not have invested the life of His only Son to redeem me,
and He would not have given me so many opportunities to be develop my full
potential in Him. There have been times when I have go around thinking that God
has been so disappointed with me, and that He doesn t want to bless me. That s
simply not true at all. I believe that God has high hope and expectations for me and
He will continue to change me as I stay in his word. (2 Corinthians 3:18)
I believe in the blessings God speak over my life in His word and I m faithfully
expect to see the full manifestation of those blessings. Isaiah 30:18 says, And

Contingency Theory of Leadership The most popular and extensively researched

consist of(l) iden tifying the leadership orientation of the leader and developing a

and developing a method of measuring them Leader orientation. Fiedler s definition

Negating the Profane and Connecting Everything In The Way of the Earth, T.C.
McLuhan draws attention to the insightful writings of Amadou Hampate Ba.
Known as the Sage of Marcory, 1 Ba endeavors to present the oral religious
traditions of Africa in writing. Through the lens of African religious tradition, Ba
asserts that, It can be seen that there is little or no room for the profane life, in the
modern sense of the word: there is no such thing as the sacred on one side and the
profane on the other. 2 This recognition is embraced by Ba s conclusion that,
Everything is connected, everything brings the forces of life into play. 3 Ba
recognizes these ideas as, manifold aspects of Se, the sacred primordial force, which
is itself an aspect of God. 4 It is my contention that Ba s observation is consistent
within the context of the African religious traditions. Within the framework of a
discussion, and explanation of the presence of the sacred in all aspects of African
life, it is my intent to reveal the actuality of Ba s claim that, there is little or no room
for a profane life... .5 Moreover, I intend to broaden the discussion by asserting that
Ba s claim has equal validity in other cultural religious traditions viz., those of the
Native North Americans. Using the example of Native North Americans, will also

Colonization and Views on Wealth in Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness and Chinua
Achebe s Things Fall Apart
The novels Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad and Things Fall Apart by Chinua
Achebe share a common theme; both deal with the colonization of Africa by settlers
from Europe. When one examines the motives for this imperialist attitude in each
book, one notices that in both books the motivation for colonization revolves around
the gaining of wealth. However Conrad and Achebe define wealth differently. In
Heart of Darkness the Europeans view wealth economically, such as the trading of
ivory. In Things Fall Apart the idea of wealth is viewed by Europeans as belonging
to and spreading the European culture and religion. Despite these ... Show more

You would think they were praying to it (Conrad 39). Marlow s words demonstrate
the colonists love of ivory and shows that it has been elevated in importance almost
to a position of a god. From this extreme want of the ivory, one can say that ivory is
wealth in the minds of the settlers in Heart of Darkness.
As stated above, the main reason for colonization of Africa is for the settlers to
gain wealth. However, each type of society can define wealth in different ways. In
Heart of Darkness wealth was ivory, but in the book Things Fall Apart one can see
that the settlers define wealth as the degree to which their religion is accepted by
the Africans. This is evident when Mr. Smith says, He saw the world as a
battlefield in which the children of light were locked in mortal conflict with the
sons of darkness (Achebe 184). From this statement one discovers that Mr. Smith
sees his purpose in Africa is to convert the sons of darkness into children of the
light. One can also see that Mr. Smith has adopted a Manichean allegorical view of
the members of each of the religions. According to Mr. Smith The children of the
light are the Christian members and the sons of darkness are the Africans who cling
to their traditional religion. Using this term to describe the Christians puts a positive
light on them, while it also points out
45. Armenian Genocide and Holocaust Comparison
More than thirteen million people from over four different religions and races were
killed during the Holocaust and Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire. That is
more than half the number of people that died in World War I. The book Maus by
Art Spigelman tells the story of a man who was a victim of and lived through the
Holocaust. The Holocaust and Amenian Genocide are indistinguishable because of
not only the amount of people that died but also for three more main reasons. These
reasons are the gruesome leaders of both genocides, the merciless dehumanization
that was forced upon the Armenians, Jews, and Lebanese, and the unreasonable
murder tactics. ! First of all, there were many people that were part of the

During the Holocaust, they were willing to spend great amounts of money to kill
the Jews just as long as they were all dead. The Jews were killed in gas chambers,
shot down oneby one into mass graves, and tortured for no good reason (Maus 241

reasons. The leaders were Adolf Hitler and Enver Pasha. They were both very
uncaring and wanted to exterminate many different groups of people. The merciless
dehumanization of the Jews and Armenians included taking their names, homes, and
belongings away from them. The unreasonable murder tactics in both genocides
included burning, shooting, and gassing the victims. More than thirteen million
people died during these two genocides and there are some people that deny that it
ever even happened. Kamberling 4 Works Cited Adolf Hitler Quotes. Adolf Hitler

types of windows that are currently in use in the low and high frequencies. The two
lowest subbands are processed using a normal window and the remaining 30
subbands are processed using the window given by the block_type_variable.
table_select There are various Huffman coded tables that are encoded during the
encoding process of MP3. table_select selects the correct Huffman table for each
region, granule and channel based on the maximum quantised value and local
statistics of the 576 frequency lines of the audio signal. However, the table_select

Benefits of data warehouse
Data warehouse helps in solving and managing the data from various sources and
transactional systems with more speedy and efficiently, and converts those data into
practical information. Along with, data warehouse serves in processing of large and
complex queries in a highly efficient manner.
Here are some benefits of data warehouse after the successful implementation:
I.Data warehouse helps in the Enhancement of Business Intelligence: Managers and
executives will be able to make business decisions on the basis of the data gathered
from various sources with more accuracy. Data warehouse stockpiles different facts

poor quality result to the loss of the very enthusiastic good data warehouse (
Disadvantages and Limitations of Data Warehouse ).
Lack of analytics understanding: The business users must be clear enough to analyze
the required type of data, also should know about the analytical inputs that help in the
improvement of the company s performance. Lacking awareness about the
requirements and the importance of data warehouse lessen the capability of the
business users( Disadvantages and Limitations of Data Warehouse ).
All in all, a dataware housng being subject oriented, cohesive and time variant, it
provides electrical centralization of all the data into one database. It provides
integrated company wide information and helps in separating operational and
informational systems in an organization. Though, it carries some disadvantages like
lack of scalability and lack of data integrity, an organized use of data warehousing
has got a lot of benefits which helps the organization in proper management of the all

A pro forma statement is a financial statement prepared on the basis of some assumed
events and transactions that have not yet occurred. (Rollins, 2011) Pro forma
statements are historical statements that provide statements; the most common are
the income statement, balance sheet, and the statement of changes in financial
position. They give management the opportunity to show the progress a company has
made from each financial planning cycle to the next financial planning cycle. They
also help to forecast what the company will need in upcoming cycles. In the
Marketplace simulation, I used my income statement (an example of a pro forma
statement) to analyze my company s inventory, and how much it was costing when I
created too much inventory. For example, in quarter 2, it was costing me $61,969 for
inventory holding costs, and in
49. The Effect Of Various Drugs On The Heart Rate Of
Daphnia...
This laboratory exercise was performed to visualize the effects of various drugs on
the heart rate of Daphnia magna. The four drugs tested consisted of: Lidocaine,
Acetylcholine, Caffeine, and Nicotine. These drugs were designed to have an
apparent effect on the average heart rate of the Daphnia. The laboratory exercise was
divided into two parts and procedures: measuring the basal heart rateof Daphnia, and
measuring the druginduced heart rate of Daphnia. In order to measure the basal heart
rate, various Daphnia were obtained and observed under a microscope at 40x
magnification for two separate trials. Using the same technique, the drug induced
heart rate with each drug (Lidocaine, Acetylcholine, Caffeineand Nicotine) was
measured and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These drugs were utilized in order to demonstrate the positive and negative effects on
cell communication. Cell communication consists of three steps: reception,
transduction, and response. Reception involves the binding of a ligand and a
receptor; transduction is a cascade of actions between molecules and their proteins,
and response is the change that occurs afterwards (1). The goal of this laboratory
exercise was to observe and determine the effects of chemical agents on Daphnia s
cell communication receptors. Different drugs have different effects on the
circulatory system, and with higher concentrations of each, come more serious
effects (3). The hypothesis for this laboratory exercise was: if Daphnia were placed
into Caffeine or Nicotine, then their heart rate would increase. In comparison, if
Daphnia were placed into Acetylcholine or Lidocaine, then their heart rate would
decrease.
Methods and Materials:
In order to complete this exercise, two different procedures were conducted; one
measured the basal heart rate, and the other measured the drug induced heart rate. A
sample s basal heart rate can be defined as the resting heart rate. This is when no
drugs or altering substances are applied. In comparison, the drug induced heart rate of
a sample can be defined as the heart rate after the drug was administered to the
surrounding environment. The four drugs tested on the Daphnia specimens were

50. The Basic Tools Of Sociology And Sociology
Argument:
In this piece, Weber outlines the basic tools of sociology and distinguishes
sociology as a social science. Weber s main message in this piece is that that social
sciences should be equivalent to natural sciences, and in order to do so, laws should
be made within the field. Secondly, he wanted to bring history and sociology
together with causal relationships, in doing so he would also analyze the individual s
social action. He mentions that action is only social when it is oriented to the
behaviour of others.
Quotations:
Action in the sense of a subjectively understandable orientation of behaviour exists
only as the behaviour of one or more individual human beings (pg. 284).
This is Weber s ninth mythological foundation. In this quote, Weber argues that
studying the individual, as a complex bio chemical reaction/collection of cells is
interesting, but does not lead to subjective understandings. Rather, action relates to
how an actor attaches subjective meaning to his/her behavior and it is social to the
extent that its subjective meaning takes account of the behavior of others.
Weber then goes on to describe the three important relations for the subjective
interpretation of action
1.Thinking on simpler levels will not lead to subjective understandings.
2.Social collectivities must be treated as modes of organization resulting from actions
of individuals.
3.Weber leads away from the organic school of sociology. Organic sociology focuses

After being released, the drop boxes are directly stored into so called carts which
again are being secured in a padlock. Once secured in these padlocks nor the pit
boss nor the security have access to the drop boxes anymore. This is clearly a type
of behavioural (physical) constraints which makes this type of control very tight
(because behaviour constraints can be considered as the tightest form on control).
Next to these examples there are multiple other standard procedures mentioned in
the case. Just as the Blackjack dealers these actions are controlled by all the
cameras (action tracking system) which tightens the control. However, comparing
the tightness of control with the blackjack dealers, pit bosses are a little bit more
loose controlled. This is mainly because a part of their work also consist of
paperwork which isn t controlled directly, whereas all of the actions of the
blackjack dealers are physical actions which are monitored and controlled all the

52. How Odyssey Has Changed My Life
I am Elektra, the daughter of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra.
Thousands of years has passed by since I am here. In the world of the dead, there
isn t much going on, the world is silent and dark, and there isn t much you can do.
After all these years, I ve been here, wondering and reflecting on myself and my life.
I meet new people here sometimes and try to communicate to them, but this is a world
without sounds. My favorite thing to do would be those rare moments, the frogs
apart, and I can peek through the world of living and see how much the life of
people has changed. And then, I reflect because of my life. I know that the story of
my family has been told by so many different people as warnings of the precedents.

Isn t that funny? I would used to think that way. Maybe because I am Elektra, the

Orestes is not weak nor coward. He thinks that it would be just to kill Aegisthus
who took over the place of our father. But Clytemnestra, our mother that we should

madness and fear. An eye for an eye, and there would be no end. No end of killing
till the end of the blood of Tantalus we bear. Should I forgive? should things be
different if I had forgave our mother and had not killed her? Through the glimpse I
had about the upper world now, there is something call law and order. Even the
most high ups are bid by the law. If we had it in my old days, if I could be more

53. How Did Raphael Influence The School Of Athens
In 15th century, during the height of the Italian Renaissance, new artist were
maturing with their vast understanding of philosophy and humanism. This period of
the Renaissance would produce some of the most dynamic artist the world has ever
seen, such as; Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. Of the three central
Italian Renaissanceartist, Raphael is accurately the most fascinating of the group.
Born in a small town in Umbria near Urbino, Raphael would learn most of his basic
skills from his father, Giovanni Santi, who was a painter himself. However at a young
age he would enter in an apprenticeship with Pietro Perugino at the Umbrian school.

54. Household Debt
In order to accurately examine the effect of household debt on Canadians and the
national economy, a historical perspective must be considered. In the past 20 years,
household debt has fluctuated immensely and has demonstrated a significant impact
on the Canadian economy.
Beginning in the twentieth century, household debt levels were increasing as the
standard of living was rising. As technology and innovation was becoming a large
part of industrial growth and new commodities were becoming available to
consumers, households began demanding a wider array of goods and services. These
commodities included vehicles, appliances and other modern devices were heavily
demanded by North American and European consumers. These commodities were
purchased on credit and were considered easy credit . This allowed the mindsets of
consumers to shift from saving to spending.
An especially important period of time for household debt was from 1980 to 2007. At
this time, households were incurring a copious amount of mortgage and consumer
debt. As stated above, this shift from saving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Highly indebted Canadians were not able to spend in the way that they used to and
instead were spending their savings and disposable income trying to pay off their
household debt. This lead to high unemployment due to the lack of demand for
commodities and subsequently a depressed economy.
Economists have determined that severe economic downturns such as the 2008
financial crisis are almost always preceded by a sharp increase in household debt. As
well, economists found that when housing prices fall, lower income homeowners are
affected the most and reduce their consumption relatively more than wealthier
homeowners. Declines in real estate investments also preceded the recession and
were followed by reductions in household spending and then nonresidential business
investments as the recession
