The renowned play of Othello was written by William Shakespeare in the 17th
century. The drama follows the life of Othello, a well respected and admired
Venetian general, and the lie he gets tangled up in. Othellois deceived by his
trustworthy friend, Iago, who confidently convinces Othello that his honest wife,
Desdemona, committed infidelity upon him with his honorable lieutenant, Cassio.
At the start, Othello doesn t quite believe Iago because he knew his wife would
never do such a thing. Although, as the play progresses so does Othello s trust in
Iago. The audience is able to witness Othello s mental deterioration and Iago s
personal motive for the deception. Towards the end of the tragic play Othello
confronts his wife and mistakenly smothers her. Everything starts to fall into place,
but not exactly the way Iago had in mind. Othello would be considered a tragic hero
due to the fact that he had his entire life ahead of him, but it unfortunately falls apart

She knows she may not be that wonderful at the beautiful woodwind that she
adores so much, but she practices and attempts to become a much better player.
This girl has practiced and tried to perfect her playing technique, hopefully gaining
some support in the process. Though, she does not need support even if it is

Anxiety In High School
Staring out above the clouds, my feet are warm and snug in the crafted italian
boots, with my skis supporting me on the snow; all the worries of high school and
its dysfunctionality are behind me. Strolling through the dark tunnels of high
school I walk with a defined strut as if trying to impress my peers. It s in these
halls where I feel the anxiety of the world crashing down on me, but up on the
fluffy, white, powdered slopes all of that anxiety is gone; it s just me and my skis.
The mountain feels as if it is my second home, when I m shredding the fresh
blanket of pow that just fell my body and mind are truly at peace. I don t have to
act a certain way or listen to anyone, alone I choose my own path and act as if
nobody is watching. Walking in the halls of high schoolI feel like just another fish
swimming to the same point as everyone else, I don t get to be who I want... Show
The feeling of fear excites me, an ecstasy of joy trickles into my veins. In a quick
moment I make a choice and the adrenaline surges as I boost off a massive cliff,
with a thud and a mushroom cloud of powder, snow drifts onto my face. With each
line persuading me towards the life of a ski bum, living in a van, going from mountain
to mountain, meeting new people and experiencing new thrills.
Driving to school brings thoughts of stress and anxiety to my mind, only thinking
of when papers are due, or when the next test is; almost as if I m a different person.
Knowing that the mountain will always be there helps me get through the day.
Precedence dictates that I have to act a certain way, as if I m top dog to keep my
rep up. It s not just me though seeing how everyone acts, most people are trying to
be someone else to impress my cohorts. Riding up on the plush snow is how I
wanna live, only wishing I could feel that back in the glossy passages of high
