7. Raised Question
The current focus of eco fashion is on use of natural materials which have less impact on environment by fast decomposition.
But is that good enough?
8. Analysis of Koreans
Halloween Costumes Comparison
Koreans have more tendency to be led by dominating trend rather than to seek individual characters. Even if ‘Green’ becomes a anew hot icon, there will be no real green with current consumption oriented trend.
Diverse characters
= Foreigners
Chic and Black
=Koreans trend
9. Analysis of Koreans
Use of Eco friendly material can not bring an absolute decrease of environmental impact but only a decrease of increasing rate. Because it doesn’t replace current fabric uses
10. Solution
Then, do we need 100 percents reforming?
No,
survey shows people are less attracted to reformed costumes. Because it is thought to be second handed wastes.
Summer Exhibition survey
11. Solution
Key Points
Reforming Prestige Outdated Items
( ∵ we are not laundry shop )
Natural Fabric for well being driven consumers
Reforms for less environmental impact
12. Suggestion
M&S in Korea doesn’t play a big green role as much as they do in the U.K. By supporting newly born designers with sustainable moto will create new Green Creative Value for it.
13. Suggestion
No need of pesticides in growing (Environmental)
Rapid growth and therefore no running out ( Sustainable )
Unlike other eco-fabrics, no combination with chemicals(Genuine green)
100% Nettle Fabric-made costumes to be staged.
14. Climate Change Fashion Show with Ocean Theme
Since there were so many trials on Climate Change movements, we need more revolutionary approach with a new theme. Outfits will made within two concepts: Pret A Porter and Haute Couture.
15. Why Ocean and Climate Change
Two-third of the earth is water, mostly ocean and ocean will be the biggest asset for human civilization to lose. Ocean already absorbed 118billion metric tons of carbon dioxide which weight as much as 118billion compact cars. More importantly, acidification of ocean result in great changes. So we will tell the Climate Change story from ocean’s perspective.
