Background Information:
The kidneys are dark red bean shaped organs that are a very important pair of
organs that perform many functions. The kidneys have a convex side and a
concave side. They are each about the size of a fist. The kidneys are located near
the middle back of a human, just below the rib cage, one on each side of the spine.
One kidney is located below the spleen on the left side of the body, whereas the
other kidney is located just below the liver. The kidneys receive blood from the
paired renal arteries and the blood is drained into the paired renal veins. In a human

In real life the underdog is hardly ever victorious so movie writers create these
underdog heroes to fulfill the audiences desire to see the underdog actually win
once and a while. Movies that show the underdog as triumphant give real people
hope that even though one may be up against a much more powerful foe, it is
possible to come out on top. Superheroes first became extremely popular within the
pages of comic books so it was only natural that film makers adopted the idea of

Once you re in, there are only two ways to get out: by dying or running (Martinez
Pg 33). Therefore, sometimes young adults or even adults feel pressured to be
involved or to continue being involved in gangs because they have the fear of being

I decided to view the episode, The Killer at Thurston High on Frontline, where we
follow the life of Kip Kinkel and how he came to shoot and kill both his parents
and two students and injure 25 others. It begins with William Kinkel and Faith
Zuranski, who give birth to Kip s older sister, Kristin and then himself, named
Kipland. His parents were both Spanish teachers and very respected within the
community. Their daughter, Kristin, describes them as nonviolent but with high
expectations for their children. As Kip began school, he struggled with learning
and was held back in the first grade. Turns out in the third or fourth grade, Kinkel
was diagnosed with dyslexia, which made writing and reading more difficult for
him. His sister and friends explain how Kip felt frustrated with being separated

The past four years of high school have been full of change, development, and

Analyzing Cyclical Steam Injections Of A Heavy Oil
Reservoir
For our senior project, we analyzed cyclical steam injections in a heavy oil reservoir
using reservoir simulations. We began the project as though we had been contracted
to analyze a cyclical steam injection project in a pay zone similar to the Clearwater
formation in Cold Lake, Alberta. In this heavy, dead oil reservoir the facilities,
injectors, and producer are already set up in the field with a seven spot orientation.
The company wants further analysis on the project once the market declined,
requesting reservoir simulations be conducted over a six year period before
proceeding. Through the program CMG STARS, we were able to simulate
production in a field with similar characteristics, employing field data from technical
papers referenced in this paper. The complex equations simultaneously solved in
CMG STARS including multiphase fluid flow and conservation equations make the
program an invaluable reservoir evaluation tool. Sensitivity analysis was conducted to
monitor the production responses to changes in steam injection parameters,
compiling over 40 simulations. The injection was optimized with a total of 35
simulations after identifying the most significant parameters impacting production.
Net present values and cumulative production of oil and water were analyzed to
construct a recommendation for the project. In this paper, we will discuss the model
construction, sensitivity analysis, optimization, and economic analysis in greater
