Schizophrenia and Auditory processing Essay
Auditory Processing and Schizophrenia Auditory hallucination is a fundamental presentation
observed in patients suffering from schizophrenia. It is one of the frequently occurring symptoms
considered to be disabling in schizophrenia, but despite vast and numerous organized studies
undertaken in this area in order to comprehend the pathophysiology of auditory hallucination, little
success has been realized, and it remains to be complex in research, understanding, and expressing
the knowledge accrued (Kaprinis, 2008.) The auditory processing in schizophreniaseems to be
different from that of normal individuals because patients inflicted with this mental illness
complain of voices deep inside their heads. The voices are described as coming... Show more

The auditory nature in schizophrenics is associated with a possible deficit in the auditory
processing. The deficit can either be due to the dysfunction of the sensory aspect of the process of
the auditory information processing centers in the brain. The earlier studies employed dichotic
tasks of listening to establish the site for the dysfunction causing the auditory deficit, but they
yielded variable results. Other studies have gone further to confirm that schizophrenia auditory
processing deficits result in the reduced advantage of the right ear in auditory sensory modality as
compared to the healthy individuals. However, for dichotic tasks involving quick responses four or
three digit pairs in succession, schizophrenic patients demonstrated right ear advantage as compared
to the healthy individuals (Kaprinis, 2008). The findings can confirm that the dysfunction in the
auditory processing is in different levels; hence, the variability in the results. It is vital to
understand that schizophrenic patients demonstrate a variation of other deficits in regard to
information processing apart from auditory processing deficits. Whether the deficits are in higher
levels such as attention and the processing of context or the dysfunction is in the earlier stages of

The Profession Of Social Work
When defining social work, the phrase a helping profession is used quite frequently. The
profession is often misconstrued with promoting the distribution of welfare. Often times, this
stereotype amuses me because social work is remarkably so much more. Not only do people fail
to realize that social work is one of the broadest occupations that offers various work environments,
but also they neglect one of the key goals besides the act of helping: empowerment. Yes, the
profession of social workstrives to provide the needy with physical resources to better improve
their lives through numerous institutional and residual programs, yet the most valuable assets a
worker can offer are abstract. Social workers are also supposed to educate people by giving them
the skills to sustain themselves in society long after they have received their services. By
empowering and teaching, social workers uplift and provide opportunity to those who are striving
for more.
Whether we know it or not, we all have an engrained sense to help others. For some, it fades as
we grow older, and for others, it only grows stronger. I ve always loved lending a helping hand; I
d like to think I get the trait from my mother. Growing up as a young child, I knew I wanted to
help people and give back when I became an adult. The occupation that would aid in completing my
commendable task changed quite frequently. At one point or another I dreamt of becoming a
teacher, interior decorator, paralegal, and then

Old Testament Patriarchs Research Paper
The term Patriarchs in the Old Testament makes a reference to two groups of men. The first group
is the twenty men making up the ancestral lineage between Adam to Abraham. At the beginning of
this familial lineage there were ten men that lived before the flood who had extremely long lives
and were known as the Antediluvian Patriarchs, which consisted of Adam, Seth, Enos, Kenan,
Mahalalel, Jared, Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech and Noah. The second group known as the
Patriarchs of Judaismwere the first three leaders of the Israelites that included Abraham, his son
Isaac and his grandson Jacob. This chapter along with its sub chapters only concerns itself with
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Upon reaching Egypt, Abram realizes that because of Sarai s beauty that the Egyptians most
likely murder him in order to take his wife, so he tells her to say that she is his sister so that he
will not be harmed. The Pharaoh s men do notice Sarai s beauty and take her to the Pharaoh s
palace. An angel from God appears before the Pharaoh, punishes the Pharaoh, afterwards the
Pharaoh releases Sarai along with his daughter to be her hand maiden as well as several
servants, livestock, riches and wealth, then allows Abram with Sarai to leave with their new
servants and wealth. Saria, Abram s wife, believes she is too old to have children and allows
Abram, at 86 years of age, to father children with Hagar, her hand maiden. Hagar gives birth to
Ishmael, Abram s first son and then Saria becomes pregnant and gives birth to Isaac, who becomes
the next Patriarch for the Israelite nation. A few days later Abram circumcises Isaac and establishes
another covenant with God and it is at this time when Abram s name becomes Abraham and Sarai s
name becomes Sarah.

The French And Haitian Revolution
THE AMERICAN, FRENCH AND HAITIAN REVOLUTION3The Haitian RevolutionThe
Haitian Revolution which took place in the year 1791 and went up to 1803 faced twelve years of
insurgency and infighting in a bid to abolish the then entrenched slave trade (Geggus, 2002). The
revolt in Haiti started as a result of a misunderstanding between the mulattoes and the whites which
then escalated into a fully fledged warfare in which the slaves fought with the aim of taking back
their freedom from their white masters (Bryan, 1984). In summary, therefore, the HaitiRevolution
can be termed as a political movement which sought the abolishment and culmination of a long
ongoing slave trade, decolonization, and racial impartiality. In 1804, having won over the whites,...

As a result, the Napoleon together with the French revolutionary armies invaded the European
colonies armed with radical institutional reforms and changes (Acemoglu et al., 2009). The French
aimed to get rid of the judicial and economic set standards which had initially offered protection to
the aristocratic oligarchies, fraternity, clergy and the noble. In so doing, the French were seeking to
bring about the proposition of the law of equality for all humankind and thus promote liberty for
each and every citizen. History records those regions initially run and operated by the Frenchmen
proved prolific concerning economic sustenance after having undergone urbanization. Therefore the
French invasion had no adverse impact on the countries which were run by it and instead showeda
robust social, political and economic growth (Acemoglu et al., 2009). The French revolution,
therefore, lay to waste the constitutional underpinnings of power initially held by the few and
theelite of the society and brought about industrial, social and economic revolution thus paving the
way for a prosperous future. They brought a new age and era of change as they fought to break
down and destroy the antiquated, medieval systems of governance which were oppressive and

Black Worm
The Lumbriculus Variegatus, or Black Worm, is a species of worm, which belong to the Annelida
family, meaning their bodies are formed of segments instead of jointed legs (Brinkhurst, Gelder,
1991). The Black worm mainly inhabits the European and North American regions, notably in the
shallow habitats, such as the edges of ponds, marshes, or lakes. Black worms diets consist of
vegetation, and underwater microorganisms like algae (Brinkhurst, Gelder, 1991). Black worms
are normally located in the sandy sediments from deeper parts in the water that they inhabit. Black
worms use their head to search for food, while their tales often project upward. The worm does this
to break water tension, in hopes that an exchange between gas and air, along... Show more content

In a typical segment, the ventral nerve cord has four pairs of segmental nerves that extend
laterally and dorsally around the body wall (Stephenson, 1930). Some of the segment s nerve
fibers are sensitive and quickly detect any stimulation to the worms body (Lesiuk, N. M. and C.
D. Drewes, 1999). Other fibers are motor fibers that supply wall muscle cells. The nerve cord
controls the worm s muscles that, in return, cause it to move. Worms use their muscles to crawl
through the mud by getting extra traction from bristles that can be seen from the side of their
body. Worms will rapidly pull back their head or tail if it is touched. Worms that hold their tail up
to the water surface may quickly withdraw it if a shadow suddenly occurs. This is because these
worms have tiny simple eyes (called photoreceptor cells) scattered along their tail segments. In
water, worms can also swim for short distances by making corkscrew movements with their body
(zool.iastate.edu, n.d., n.a.).
The Lumbriculus Variegatus, in recent years had been looked over for classroom and laboratory
use. However, these worms present great promise for researcher and student friendly laboratory
experiments. Black worms have been found to be very helpful and informative in experiments
involved with subjects such as: Physiology, Development,

Senior Project
For Claudia Cifolelli s Senior Project, she provided service for the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
in Kenya, Africa. This organization provides a safe haven for injured and orphaned elephants that
have been victims of the illegal ivory poaching throughout Kenya. In order to help raise money to
fund this organization, Claudia organized a silent auction containing art pieces related to wildlife
made by students and alumni from Natomas Charter Schooland other local artists. The money she
made went to the Medical needs of the Elephants in Kenya.
When Claudia asked me to participate in her senior project, i immediately said i would help her
out. I took a look at the other pieces that she had already received and i was amazed. Klaude s
piece was by far the my favourite. I then got to brainstorming ideas on how I can implicate wildlife

canvases. I then ran across another problem, what animals could I draw and what colors should I
use to paint. I started to use the original sketches I had, a wolf and a deer, and started painting
while also mixing together colors that i thought would catch the viewer s eye ; and because i
was fairly low on paint, i had to use some of the paint from the painting of the wolf silhouette on
the painting of the deer silhouette. After I did the two paintings, I knew it wasn t finished. The
two canvases I painted looked too lonely. I needed to paint at least two more but i was stuck,
staring at an empty canvas that was waiting to be filled with colors. I started to sketch out an
elephant, the main focus of this whole project, and started to paint with more vivid and brilliant
colors that caught my eye while i was mixing paints. As I was painting the elephant I realized that
elephants aren t the only wild animal who is being poached for their horns. In the middle of

Effects Of Social Media On Teenagers Essay
Effects of Social Media on Social Comparison and Self Esteem in Teenagers Nikolo Bobadilla,
Gaby Juarez, Lexi McCaig, Noe Molina Texas Tech University Social media applications have
had a large impact on many different generations. With the rise of technology and opportunity,
social media has become the epicenter for teenagers and college students to express and connect
with others through pictures, videos, and personal content. According to a new study from Pew
Research Center (2015), 92% of teens report going online daily including 24% who say they go
online constantly. As more teens go online, teenagers self esteem and social comparison are
impacted with the rising use of social media platforms, like Facebook, in both negative and
positive ways. In the same study, Pew Research Center (2015) found that Facebook remains the
most used social media site among American teens with 71% of all teens using the site.
However, a study done by Amy L. Gonzales and Jeffrey T. Hancock found that in many cases
Facebook can actually have a positive effect on self esteem and social comparison. In today s
society, social networking sites have almost become a mandatory item to have. Without this, certain
barriers are created from you, others, and the online world. But, people who are active on social
networking sites also open themselves up to social comparison and public scrutiny from the mass
piles of information about themselves

Organizational Effectiveness
Organizational effectiveness is a tool manager s use to measure how effective they; and their
organizations are at achieving outcomes and creating value. Organizational effectiveness can be
very difficult to measure in an organization. Why? The answer is because organizations can be
diverse and very large. Also one organization can have multiple goals and perform many activities at
the same time. Managers must decide which indicators they want to measure in order to determine
the effectiveness of their organization. There are three approaches managers can use in evaluating
effectiveness. They are the external resource approach (Control); the internal systems approach
(Innovation); and the technical approach (Efficiency). Each approach... Show more content on

Even though the external resource approach can be very valuable when other measures are not
available it does have its downside. The approach only vaguely considers the organization s link
to the needs of customers in the external environment. The internal systems approach allows
managers to evaluate how well their organization functions and how smooth it operates. An
organization needs to be able to rapidly create products, make services available; and speed up
decision making in order to adapt and respond quickly to the forever changing environment. To
measure an organization s capacity for innovation the length of time taken to make decisions, the
amount of time taken to get a new product on the market, and the amount o f time spent
coordinating duties of different departments are all factored in . These factors can often measured
objectively (Jones, 2007, p. 17). For example If an organization was to improve its decision
making process it would help it to introduce new products or services to the market sooner and keep
up with or surpass its competitors in productivity. When organizations make changes to increase
employee morale and coordination this can have a direct impact on its ability to respond to the
environment. When employees

Essay about The National Labor Relations Board
The ability for the federal government to regulate businesses activity is given in the Constitution.
Article 1, Section 8 is known as the commerce clause; it states, Congress shall have the Power...to
regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes
(Reed, 173). Through the commerce clause, the government is able to regulate business activity by
the use of administrative agencies, which is defined as a governmental regulatory body that
controls and supervises a particular activity or area of public interest and administers and enforces
a particular body of law related to that activity or interest (Administrative Agency, 1). There are two

To properly examine the NLRB it is imperative to understand how it is organized. The NLRB has
five members and primarily acts as a quasi judicial body in deciding cases on the basis of formal
records in administrative proceedings. Board Members are appointed by the President to 5 year
terms, with Senate consent, the term of one Member expiring each year (NLRB.gov). In addition
to the board members there is a General Counsel, which is appointed by the President to a 4 year
term and is independent from the board. The person appointed to the position of General Counsel is
responsible for the investigation and prosecution of unfair labor practice cases and for the general
supervision of the NLRB field offices in the processing of cases. (NLRB.gov) The NLRB also has
a Division of Judges, which is made up of 40 Administrative Law Judges who hear, settle and
decide unfair labor practice cases throughout the United States.
Next, it is important to understand what the NLRB does and does not have jurisdiction over. The
NLRB does not have jurisdiction over 6 types of labors: (1) governmental employees, (2) persons
covered by the Railway Act, (3) independent contractors, (4) agricultural laborers, (5) household
/domestic workers, and (6) employees who work for their spouse or parents (Reed, 631).
Technically the NLRB has jurisdiction over everything else; however, the NLRB has a limited
budget as well as time constraints and so must limit

American Women Issues

world. Some of the examples are Ellen Degeneres, Oprah Winfery, Kalpana Chawla, Janet

most of the girls follow their footprints to get famous like them in future. But still there are a lot
of women who are working in fields, as a maid worker and in industries in poor condition. These
women are facing problems such as sexual abuse, harassment and high level of violence. In this

women to get out of this dirty situation. Therefore every country should educate their female
population so that they can contribute to economy of the country and can run their family on their
own and do not have to become slave of the men. Also heavy fines should be imposed to those who
sexually abuse, violate and harass women.

The Catholic Church Should Accept That Gay Marriage
The Catholic Church should accept that gay marriage is morally acceptable and doesn t
contradict their beliefs. Gay marriage has been a topic of controversy ever since the 1970 s. May
of 1970 to be exact. Around This time two men named Richard John Jack Baker and James
Michael McConnell in Minnesota applied to Hennepin County District Court clerk Gerald Nelson
for a marriagelicense. They were denied because they both were men. This issue of two people
of the same sex getting married is still a topic of debate to a lot of people even after the U.S.
Supreme court made gay marriage legal in all 50 states in 20151. The Catholic Church teaches to
treat homosexuals with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. That every act of hate, violence, and
persecution toward them is condemned. The Church doesn t view homosexuals no poorly than
they do everyone else but it is their views on marriage that are in question. They believe that all
sexual activity outside of marriage as a sin and an immoral act. So, if we restrict marriage from
homosexuals then if they are in a sexual relationship with another they are in turn an immoral
person. Therefore, the Catholic Church should view gay marriage the same as heterosexual
marriage, with reverence and sanctity. Marriage, also known as the matrimonial covenant, is to
establish a partnership between a man and a woman for the entirety of their lives and which is
ordered by its nature to the good of the spouses and the procreation

Australia The Land Of Opportunity Essay
Before the 11th of September, 2001, Australia had been a home to the Al Jamil family. Granted, it
was never the same as their home country of Iraq, but it was a place to live and they were content.

It happened slowly at first, with strange looks in the street and the word terrorist constantly on

physical. Mama and Papa called the school, asking for answers, but were given none, being told

Alexander Hamilton was one of the key, founding figures of the Federalist, a political party who
believed in a strong, national government. However, Aaron Burr considered himself a Democratic
Republican, a political party who favored for the states to have more power than the national
government; in other words, both men believed in the exact opposite for the government of the
United States. As a result, Hamilton and Burr disagreed on many things, resulting in a great
amount of animosity towards each other. The duel was held on Wednesday, July 11, 1804 in
Weehawken, New Jersey. The choice of weapon for the duel was a pistol chosen by Hamilton since
he was the one challenged. Again since he was the challenged, Hamilton had the choice of position,
so he chose a place located upstream. However, that would include one of many mistakes that
would cost him his life. As both men shot at each other, only one was hit. Shot in a fatal location,
Hamilton was hit on his right side, right above his hip. Ellis states, Hamilton himself recognized his
own condition almost immediately...Meanwhile, Burr seemed surprised and regretful at the
outcome of his shot (25). The two eyewitnesses at the time, Pendleton and Van Ness, decided to
make a Joint Statement in which they stated that both men upheld the code duello ,

Motorcycle Insurance Essay
Motorcycle Insurance
Motorcycle Insurance is a provision of financial protection in the event of an accident, loss, theft or
any damage to your motorcycle. This includes liability coverage for any property damage or
injuries that were endured to the other person.
Some ways to customize a policy:
Full Replacement Coverage o This covers the total cost of the motorcycle when it has been totaled

(weather damage, animal damage and theft)

purchased, other riders may not be provided. This also depends on the other rider being a

another cyclist. These conditions can be discussed with your insurance agent.
For track day coverage, if covered, there are several exclusions that many apply. An example
would be not covering accidents that occur during a race, timed event or speed test; however
they will pay out for accidents that occur on a track during which you are riding for the purpose of
improving bike handling skills as to become a safer more defensive driver.

Nurse Mentoring Concept Analysis Response
Nurse Mentoring Concept Analysis Response
Introduction
According to McEwen and Wills, concepts in the nursing profession are words that describe a
variable of nursing practice (2014, pg. 50). Concepts, once defined, are used in research to test
hypotheses that will increase knowledge and theory development. However, concept definitions
change with time and context. Therefore, it is important to thoroughly and succinctly define
concepts within an analysis for a meaningful application.
Mentoring in nursing practice has been thought of as a beneficial way of increasing nursing
knowledge for several decades (Stewart Krueger, 1996, pg. 311). However, the concept of
mentoring had not been defined or analyzed, which made researching its effectiveness useless. This
concept analysis of mentoring in nursing practice shows that mentoring can be mutually beneficial
for a mentor, protГ©gГ©, and nursing practice. However, further research on this concept is
necessary to determine the broader application to nursing as a scientific discipline.
Method of Analysis
In the concept analysis of mentoring, Stewart and Krueger used the evolutionary method by
Rodgers (Stewart Krueger, 1996, pg. 312). This method involves multiple steps of analysis that are
often occurring concurrently rather than completing a step after one is completed. The benefit of
this method is that it has clear phases in the analytical process but is time efficient because steps
are occurring at the same time. It also

The Stone Breakers Analysis
The context in which an artwork is created influences the artwork. Context helps unravel an artwork
s content to discuss the relations, references, or allusions we may not otherwise understand.
Context also helps us understand why certain elements of the artwork are considered revolutionary.
The political, economical, and social environment of the artwork is essential to understanding its
form and content. Gustave Courbet s oil painting, The Stone Breakers, (see fig. 1) is an example of
an artwork considered representative of its art historical time period, during the mid 19th century.
Courbet s socialist views combined with tensions in the government following the French
Revolutionof 1789, as well as the progression of the industrial... Show more content on

He painted them with authenticity. Courbet used the framing techniques of photography, but also
exploited paint to its potential, creating a modern artwork. However, what Courbet did with this
narrative that made it so shocking was that the artwork measures 1.59Г—2.59m, rendering the
figures nearly life size, and he was aware that the connotation of such a large scale alludes to the
size of history paintings.
Along with the evolving society, Courbet was also evolving his ideas and straying away from
the traditional artmaking practices. Courbet challenged the conventions of the French Academy
by producing an artwork that shifted the attention from the narrative as a whole to depicting a
specific moment of the banal and the every day life in such a deliberate grand scale (Young 58
60). He questioned the institutional relation between art and the public by creating politically
subversive artwork by calling attention to the individual and ordinary rural populations. The
artwork portrays a young man beside an old man breaking rocks to make way for a road on the
outskirts of a town like Ornans, Courbet s birthplace (Eisenman 214). The juxtaposition of the
young and old man is pitiable and it creates the idea of an endless cycle. The treachery in this
scene is what the narrative entails (Eisenman 209). It is the story of an old father with his

How Technology Can Help An Organization
As technology becomes more advanced many people tend to use it more often. They see that
technology allows them to do things quickly and easily. One example is paying a bill online. It s
a quick and easy process to learn. However, not all websites are made to only pay bills. Some are
made to shop, entertain, inform, or to help an organization. Many people don t really see what
methods people use to attract many people to go online. Nowadays many companies have created
their own websites to have their customers use at their convenience. Air1.com is an uncommon
website, created by the Air 1 radio station which plays Christian music. The Air1 website contains
rhetorical appeals using Ethos, Pathos, and Logos to persuade listeners of the Air1 radio station to
keep it on air.
ETHOS
Air1 is a radio station that has their own website which features options to have their listeners
help out with many charities and to help keep their station on air through donations. One charity
offers the EZ $40 monthly plan to help provide kids with the medicine they need for the
parasites and other diseases that they might be struggling with. They use ethos to try to persuade
people to donate to their station. They also use it to show that all the money that is donated goes
to several good causes. In one of their buttons featured on the right side of the page is an option
where any listener can leave a prayer if they ever feel like they need to strengthen their hope so that
they never lose it.

Increasing Tuition Rates Cause Students
Increasing tuition rates cause students to borrow more money which will impact their financial

This table was prepared in October 2015.While tuition costs continue to rise, the median income

rise, the average medium income remains the same which places ever increasing costs of
obtaining a higher education on the on the student. Given that the median annual income for men
is $33,903* and the average cost of tuition at four year public college is $8,816*; average tuition

The Three Creation Myths
Question One
The signs of miracles and or Magic discussed in the creation myths
Each of the creation myths reveals some form of supernatural power beyond human understanding.
One common magic that is common is creation from nothing . It is believed that a supreme deity
who existed from the beginning of time solely participated in creation. With the emptiness that
existed, the Supreme Being creates through uttering words or body secretions
(Pinsent, 18). He then organizes the world into the form that it exists presently. It is also a common
belief that the supreme deity has power to give life to human through his breath. As much as he
could engage in physical creation, he also shared the life in them to humans. Certain creatures are

Sumerian myth describes how the gods created black headed people and provided conducive

the condemnation of evil and pursuit for peace. It also reveals the value for humans by ensuring
that they get what they need for survival. Good conduct is also emphasized to ensure that peace and
order is maintained. Negritos myth brings out the ideas that creation took place through thoughts or
dreaming. It is believed that a divine couple, Pedn and Manoid existed in the sun that later created
the Earth. First, nature is valued as the source of the universe and all life forms. Relations are valued
as it is the source of human life (Powell, 34).
Question Three
Nature of cultures
The Sumerian culture portrays the importance of animals as compared to human beings.

The Cherry Orchard
The Cherry Orchard: Critical Analysis The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov is about a Russian
family that is unable to prevent its beloved estate from being sold in an auction due to financial
problems. The play has been dubbed a tragedy by many of its latter producers. However, Chekhov
labeled his play a farce, or more of a comedy. Although this play has a very tragic backdrop of
Russia #8217;s casualty ridden involvement in both World Wars and the Communist Revolution, the
characters and their situations suggest a light hearted tone, even though they struggle against the
upcoming loss of the orchard. Apathy and passivity plague the characters and contribute often to
the comic side of things. Sometimes, however, the passivity... Show more content on

Another example of a character #8217;s inability to suppress foolishness is Yepikhodov #8217;s
role of the #8220;unfortunate clod #8221; (Galens 21 39). He continues to stumble over furniture
in each of his appearances. He is immediately dubbed #8220;Twenty two Calamities. #8221;
Gayev #8217;s actions also provoke comedy in The Cherry Orchard. He is addicted to fruit candy
and spends every cent he has on feeding his addiction. Another of his actions is his incisive
billiard shot calls. Sparatically in the conversation or in mid sentence he will call a shot as if he
has a cue in his hand at a pool hall. John Fiero writes in his critical analysis of The Cherry
Orchard: Madame Ranevsky is a foolish woman only too anxious to return to a worthless young
lover; Gayev is an amiable ass who talks too much; Anya is a goose and her Trofimov a solemn
windbag; Lopakhin, the practical self made man, is confused and unhappy; Epihodov a clumsy
idiot; Dunyasha a foolish girl; Yasha an insufferable jumped up lad; and Firs far gone in senility
(Corbin, John 33 37). This quote shows the comic elements of the character #8217;s personalities
and how they are put to work in the play. Apathy and passivity contrast the comic side of the
characters by roping the tragedy back into focus. Mrs. Ranevsky is the biggest example of these
qualities. She states, #8220;If only this heavy load could be lifted from my heart; if only I could

the Six Sigma Certification process. For those of you who may not know what Six Sigma is, it s
a professional certification that has become extremely crucial to all businesses that are looking to

Among this certification there are many others that are extremely beneficial but also not as
expensive as completing master programs. Appendix 1. What makes a person qualify for a

Why The Incorporation Of Vegetable Juices Are Essential...
Juicing is the process of extracting juice from plant tissues such as fruits and vegetables. There
are numerous methods; from extracting the juice by hand or the large scaled manufacturing
processes that is used to efficiently retrieve the juice from the fruits and vegetables included in
the mixture. According to Dr. Joseph Mercola, an alternative medicine proponent, there are two
main reasons why the incorporation of vegetable juices are essential to improve the health of the
people. First, you are able to consume the ample amount of vegetables and fruits in an efficient
manner. Rather than consuming vegetables in its solid form, it is easier to digest it once it s
converted to its liquid form. Second, since the consumption of fruits and vegetables would be
easier with juicing, you can add a wider variety to your own diet. As it was stated in one of his
articles, that once a person repeatedly consumes the same type of vegetables and fruits every day,
there is a chance to develop an allergy to a certain type of food. With juicing you may avoid this
from happening by expanding the variety of fruits and vegetable you intake and at the same time
explore with the variety you are available with. There are three types of juicers, first we have the
Centrifugal juicer. This machine grinds the fruit and vegetables then exerts force upon the juice that
is extracted through a strainer by spinning at very high rates per minute. Pulps that are found within
the fruits and vegetables are

Vestibular System Essay
Literature Review
* Vestibular Anatomy:
The human vestibular system is the first sensory system to develop in humans (Blayney, 1997). It is
a complex sensory organization which consists of a peripheral sensory apparatus, which lies within
the inner ear, and a central processor, which consists primarily of the vestibular nuclei and the
cerebellum. The vestibular system is integrated with the proprioceptive and visual systems to
provide sensory information used in the maintenance of balance.
The peripheral vestibular system consists of a bony labyrinth and a membranous labyrinth. This
system sits in the otic capsule in the petrous portion of the temporal bone. The bony labyrinth

School Of Nursing Analysis Paper
School of Nursing Analysis Paper The University of Rochester, School of Nursing was founded
in 1928, concurrently with the Strong Memorial Hospital and the School of Medicine and
Dentistry. The School of Nursing became an independent school in 1968, partnering nursing with
medicine and becoming an organizational model that would influence nursing at a national level.
In 1998, declining baccalaureate enrollment and the financial crisis that this caused created new
challenges for the School. Competition among area schools fueled changes. The School of
Nursing could no longer compete with tuition rates for baccalaureate programs at other schools.
Prospective students were choosing schools with lower cost of tuition for nursing programs. The
School of Nursing had to quickly figure out how to make their programs marketable. The
decision was made to phase out the generic baccalaureate program and restructure the program so
that it was geared toward registered nurses. What was born from this restructure was the
accelerated program for non nurses and the registered nurse to baccalaureate program (RN to BS).
During the 1999 strategic planning process, emphasis was focused on creating nationally
recognized areas for research as identified by the Medical Center (Strong Memorial Hospital). To
help with this goal, faculty was recruited specifically to enhance the School of Nursing s research
and scholarship programs. The School of Nursing s emphasis changed from the student

Music, The Orchestra, And The Romantic Symphony
Since the beginning of the semester, I have learned three concepts about music in western
civilization. The 3 concepts I have learned is elements of music, the orchestra, and the romantic
symphony. Theses concept are very interesting to me because I don t have any type of musical
background and I got the chance to learn about how music really started. There are many elements I
learn when it comes to making an orchestraand composing a music program. An orchestra is a
group of musicians that come together to make background music for a TV show or movie.
During the class, I learn that they also provide concerts, ballets, and opera to the public. According
to English online.at The word orchestra was first used by the ancient Greeks and meant the front
part of a stage. During the Middle Ages, it also included the musicians on the stage. The orchestra
has a lot of history that goes back to the late 6th and early 7th century. The orchestra group was
organized by the kings and queens of Italian and French churches. They used string instruments to
perform at dance parties, ballet, and operas. This is fascinating that the orchestra music goes back
as far as the late 6th century. I could see how Beethoven, Smetana, Tchaikovsky and among other
have made amazing orchestral music and how they were influenced by it. When the orchestra is
playing it could have 10 or more instruments. During class, I learn that when we talk about the
orchestra it usually means a symphony orchestra. A

Weapons of the American Civil War Essay
Weapons of the American Civil War
Amongst the most lasting of factors stemming from the Civil War are the weapons that were
developed. Before the Civil War, the weapons used were highly unreliable, and were not advanced
enough to provide the needed defense for a young nation such as our own. Innovative minds created
many interesting ways to demolish their enemies without ever having to fire a shot or go into full
combat through different types of bombs that were in disguise. Among the advancements in the
Civil War were the torpedo, the carbine rifle, the minie` ball, several models of rifle muskets, rocket
launchers, rocket bombs, Greek Fire, and a wide array of other secret weapons.

A few years of development and a patent later, the minie` ball was ready for combat. In the 1850
s, James H. Burton, a master of arms, made a few alterations such as slightly lengthening the bullet
and thinning the walls of the hollow base. These alterations made the minie` ball much easier and
cheaper to mass produce; this is what was used by the blue and gray s out on the battlefields.
The Union soldiers were more likely to carry the U.S. Model 1861 Springfield Rifle Musket than
any other weapon. These guns were not the easiest or most convenient weapons even if they
were the most common. The Model 1861 was a .58 caliber gun, was 58.5 inches long, and
weighed in at a heavy 9.25 pounds. This rifle was nicknamed The Widow Maker. This nickname
was made with great thanks to the minie` bullet which was an integral part of this rifle musket.
The combination of the rifle musket and the minie` bullet forever changed the face of warfare;
thus because for the first time ever, men could aim at a distant target, and have a decent chance of
hitting it. This luxury allowed the gun bearers to hide in a safe place, yet still be able to knock

S. Eddington awarded the second law of thermodynamics the supreme position among the laws of
Nature since it alone was responsible for what he was the first to call time s arrow ... The
directionality of time that results from entropy s increase, Eddington points out, is intimately
installed in our awareness of ourselves in the world, confirmed by human reason, and dependent
upon the fact that there are multiple parts to be organized or disordered (Menke, 970).
Therefore, Eddington claims that the directionality of time is inherently within the human
awareness. Human beings are essentially rational creatures who have an inborn need to make sense
of the ever increasing disorder in the world around them. We use the constant forward linear march
of time to establish order in a disordered universe in which entropy continually increases.
The Holocaust threatens our attempts to maintain this illusion of order. The extermination at Nazi

The Merger Between American Car Manufacturer Chrysler And...
1. What are your views of the Chrysler Fiat strategic alliance in 2009?
The merger between American car manufacturer Chrysler and its foreign counterpart, Fiat, was
clearly born out of a mutual need for growth as well as to recover financially from various setbacks
and failures both had experienced.
As the world grows smaller through interconnectivity, the only real option these big car companies
have left to grow is to expand internationally. This alliance is a good way to expand into new
markets with partners who have experience conducting business in vastly different markets. Seeing
as both companies have placed sufficient trust in one another to share technology and resources
there is a much greater guarantee that this partnership will outlast the one Fiat had with General
Motors.
Although this cross border partnership brings its share of benefits, the fact that Chrysler has always
been a marginal auto manufacturer with an inconsistent history of quality, weak market share,
and old technology is troubling. Fiat has also had its share of problems stemming from issues
with Italian labor laws, weakened business environment, and cost issues. But, both parties have
shown a strong drive to overcome these issues. Chrysler chose to focus on its most successful car
brand, Jeep, and to use it as its main growth platform because of its market share and visibility.
Fiat also took steps to reinvent itself by fixing its brand portfolio and quality areas with the aid of its

Who Is To Blame For Lincoln s Assassination
On April 14, 1865, one of the most devastating historic events took place. The war had just
ended. Lincoln wanted to get out of the White House to get a good laugh. Lincoln decided to see
one of his favorite plays, Our American Cousin. Arriving late, Lincoln was seated in the
Presidential Box along with his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, Henry Rathbone, and Rathbone s
fiancГ©, Clara Harris. (Holzer) At exactly 10:15 p.m., Booth entered the private box, and shot his
.44 caliber single shot derringer into the back of President Lincoln s head. Rathbone tried to stop
Booth, but he was stabbed by the assassin. ( Abraham Lincolns Assassination ) While John Wilkes

These people included David E. Harold, a former druggist who helped Booth escape to Virginia;
George Atzerodt, a carriage maker who planned the murder of Vice President Andrew Jackson;
Lewis Thornton Powell, a former Confederate soldier who attempted to murder Secretary of
State Seward; Samuel A. Mudd, a physician who set Booth s leg; Edward Spangler, a stagehand
that helped Booth escape; and Mary Eugenia Surratt, the owner of the home where the crimes
were planned. These conspirators were all convicted by a nine man military commission. The
commission sentenced Arnold, Mudd, and O Laughlin to life imprisonment and sentenced
Spangler to six years in prison. O Laughlin died of yellow fever in prison in 1867. Arnold, Mudd,
and Spangler were all pardoned by President Johnson in 1869. Mudd also saved many prisoners
and guards during the yellow fever epidemic. (Neely) The commission also sentence Herold,
Powell, Atzerodt, and Surratt to death. They were hung on July 7.
Mary Eugenia Surratt was the first women who was put to death by the federal government. Her
son, who was believed to also be involved with the plot, was tried in 1867. He was not released
from prison until June, 1868. The hanging of his mother has been considered as a gross miscarriage
of justice. Her prosecution never established that she knew anything about the plot and that she was
not even part of the assassination plans. (De Witt, Campbell,

Comparing Pros and Cons of S Corporations and LLC s
Comparing pros and cons of S corporations and LLC s
When people want to form a new business ventures, they usually can house their operation under
one of several basic entity types. These entities differ in terms of their legal and tax consideration
and each has advantages and disadvantages from both tax and nontax prospective. Therefore, it is
important to know what type of entity is the best option before opening a new business and it is
really depends on the goals, outlook and strategy for that particular business and its owners.
Generally, for tax purpose business entities can be classified as either separate taxpaying entities or
as flow through entities. Separate taxpaying entities pay taxes on their own income, in other words,
corporation is taxpayer. In contrast, flow through entities are legal entities where income passes to
owners; that is, the income of the entities is treated as the income of the owners. It includes many
major types of corporation such as S corporations, LLC (Limited Liability Companies), Partnership
and Sole Proprietorship. Its major difference from C corporations is that a flow through entity is
not taxed at entity level; rather, the income generated by the organization is taxed directly to the
owners. Therefore, Flow through entities are a common device used to limit taxation by avoiding
double taxation.
Among these flow through entities, I am going to compare and contrast S corporations and LLCs
in different aspects. In order to make

The Return of Martin Guerre is a version of story which was presented in a book version and a
film version. It tells about the story of a young man who has inhabited his own village, and the
successive accounts of the invented emergency that returns to occur. Consequently, it provides the
person who reads it with a set of happenings that describe life during 16th century in France. The
happenings, while not completely accurate, enable the reader and viewer through a thoughtful and

Reptiles Are Better Than Reptiles
Dogs are the only mammals that will actually stare and look into a human s eyes Jerry O
Connell, I prefer mammals because they could be amazing companions and cuddle buddies. The
man who never alters his opinion is like standing water and breeds reptiles of the mind William
Blake, I don t really like reptiles because of their scaly skin but others think differently. They are
both amazing animals and have great abilities to do things. Mammals do not give birth to their
youngs in an egg form on a surface area. Mammals also do not have scaly and dry skin like
reptiles. Mammals such as dogs are also different than reptiles such as bearded dragons because
they are warm blooded so they can stay in the cold and they also have hair and fur so they can
lose that anytime when they get hot. Many mammals just shiver in the cold such as dogs.
Reptiles do not give birth to their youngs right away. Also, reptiles are cold blooded and do not
need fur to survive cold places. Reptiles such as frogs can live in a rain forest and be fine but
also be in warm weather so they kind of get a bonus. Reptiles are also different than mammals
because they can change colors while mammals can not change colors to express the... Show more

If you are a cross country skier looking for a relatively easy tour in the Norwegian mountains, one
area worth considering is the hill country to the west of Espedalen, which is a long valley situated
about 70km to the northwest of the town of Lillehammer.
In the mid nineteenth century, Espedalen was a very busy place, for it was then the world s largest
centre for nickel mining, and hundreds of men worked there. But today few signs of that activity
remain, and the valley is peaceful and empty.
You can reach it by taking a morning train from Osloairport to Lillehammer and then the afternoon
bus to Espedalen. The bus drops off at each of the three hotels in the valley. For logistical reasons,
it s best to arrange to spend both the first and last nights of your holiday at one of these hotels,
because you will almost certainly want to use their transport at the end of the tour, as we will see.
(You might also want to use their transport at the start of the tour, perhaps to shorten the first day.)

Comparing Apple Vs Apple
The smartphone industry is a very up and coming place. In the US, more than 77% of adults own a
smartphone (Smith). There are many different kinds of smartphones. They can vary in shape, size,
color, and brand. Two of the largest brands of smartphone are Samsung and Apple. They make two
of the hottest phones on the market right now. Just recently Samsung made the Galaxy S8, and
Apple came out with the iPhone8. Both phones are reported to be top of the line. Both being high
end devices have many similarities, but they also have differences that set them far apart from
each other. Let s start off with one big difference between these two phones, the camera. We re
again treated to a solitary 12 megapixel f/1.8 rear snapper... The Galaxy S8 comes with a 12
megapixel Dual Pixelrear camera (Spendelow). The difference between the cameras here is that
the Galaxy has a dual camera, whereas the iPhone does not. The iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X
do have the dual camera if you re willing to spend the extra money. These two phones also have
different camera resolution. The Galaxy s camera resolution is 2960 x 1440 pixels, and the
iPhones is 1334 x 750 pixels (Bushnell). Between the two phones camera resolution, the Galaxy
has the iPhone beat. The Samsung s front facing camera is also a little bit better than the iPhone
s. The iPhone s camera is 7 megapixels whereas the Samsungs is 8 megapixels (Kidman).
However, the iPhone has reportedly been seen with warmer colors, helping with the contrast of
pictures. Overall, the Samsung s dual rear camera and 8 megapixels front facing camera has the
iPhone beat. Another big difference between the two phones is the hardware and internal specs.
One main difference between these two phones is the two kinds of operating systems they use.
Samsung uses Android 7.1.1, and the iPhone uses iOS 11. Two separate systems tailored to the
devices needs. They both are top of the line operating systems and are the most up to date
systems you can use (Kidman). Both operating systems are fine tuned to the use of the consumer
and are both extremely customizable. The iPhone Has a 2GB RAM and uses the A11 Bionic
processor, and the Galaxy has a 4GB RAM and uses the octa core Exynos 8895 processor

Solar Energy in Kazakhstan Essay
Introduction In 21st century almost all devices work with electricity. Electricity makes activity of
people easier and more comfortable. Moreover, it plays a great role in development of medicine,
science, education, transport and other spheres of human s life. However, electricity production is
becoming more and more problematic because the biggest part of energy for electricity is produced
by natural resources, which are neither infinite nor renewable. It means that one day mineral
reserves can run out, and, as a result, there will be risk of possible energy crisis. This situation
stimulates humanity to transfer to renewable power system. Countries around the world are
promoting sustainable energy policies, particularly to reduce... Show more content on

Moreover, there are almost 3000 hours of sunshine per year, while energy from solar radiation is
1500 1800 kW/m2/year (Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP) 1997).
Despite the very appropriate conditions for realization of solar energy, this resource is little used.
So, Kazakhstan should pay attention to the adoption of renewable energy supply system to the
daily life and make a compelling choice between photovoltaic technology of converting sunlight
into usable form and concentrated solar thermal plants in an economically and environmentally
advantageous way. Hence, this paper will evaluate to what extent is solar energy suitable and
viable source of carbon free energy for Kazakhstan. Also different types of technologies necessary
to make the conversion of solar energy into electricity will be examined, particularly concentrated
solar power will be considered as a possible solution to the existing situation and possible energy
problems in Kazakhstan. Main Body Dependence on coal, oil and gas and other natural resources
pose a threat to the future with air pollution, changes in climate and economic instability due to the
fluctuations of fuel prices. Instead of wagering on unreliable fuel materials, people should learn
how to use planet s infinite sources of renewable energy effectively. Solar energy is recognized as
the most promising alternative energy in the world. The popularity of sunlight energy is attributed

Synthesis Of Tert-Butyl Chloride Lab Report
The objective surrounding the experiment outlined by this report is to perform an SN1 reaction to
synthesize tert butyl chloride while recording the reactivity of the compound with sodium iodide
and silver nitrate reagents. Nucleophilic substitution reactions, denoted SN1 or SN2, are
characterized by a nucleophile(electron pair donor) reacting with an electrophile (electron pair
acceptor) to break a bond at a carbon to form a new bond with that carbon.1 In order for the
reaction to take place, a compound or element must break away from the electrophile, so it may
accept electrons from the nucleophile.2 The octet rule must not be disobeyed and thus, the leaving
group allows space for other electrons to attach. Figure 1.1 (right) shows a typical... Show more

For this experiment, the nucleophile will be considered the chloride ion from HCl. The chloride
ion in this case constitutes a good nucleophile because it is charged with a 1 and is relatively low
in electronegativity.5 Since the chloride ion will be donating a pair of its electrons, the fact that it
is negatively charge indicates that it indeed has extra electrons to donate and thus its nucleophilic
character is greater as a result. Additionally, the electronegativity of the chloride ion is a showing
of how willing the ion is to donate elctrons, or rather how tightly the chloride ion holds those
electrons to the nucleus. A low electronegativity indicates that the ion is larger in size and allows
electrons to float more freely and also donates those outer electrons more

Humorous Wedding Speech By Amy Winehouse

When I wrote this book, Amy was at her prime. Having succeeded musically in both Britain and
the US, she was living the life her childhood dreamt of, minus the troubles of her turbulent life. As
a child she was troublesome to say the least. She dreamt of performing live, and it

Sertraline Essay
Sertraline (brand name: Zoloft) is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). Sertraline affects
chemicals in the brain that may be unbalanced in people with depression, panic, anxiety, or

medications. It is used to treat depression, anxiety disorders, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive

A Different History and Where I Come from Essay
Elizabeth Brewster and Sujata Bhatt both suggest the significance of place in helping to shape a
person s identity in their poems but they do it in different ways.
Brewster suggests that places change our identity when she writes People are made of places .
This shows that every different place we visit we take the memories and experiences that we had
there and keep them in our minds and hearts forever. Whereas Bhatt suggests that when we go to a
new place we forget who we previously were and change ourselves so that we fit in with the new
culture that we are living in. We know this from when she says And how does it happen/ that after
the torture . This shows the struggle to keep your cultural heritage when you move places.

In Where I Come From Brewster uses the metaphor ice and the breaking of ice . This is to show
that even though you are in a different place than you are used to you are ready to break the ice
when meeting new people and having new experiences. Bhatt suggests that you bring the
conventions to the country you move to from your old country and then you add to them from
the things you learn in the new culture that you are living in. We know this because she says
Great Pan is not dead . This also shows that your cultural heritage will never die as it will always be
a part of you whether it s obvious or not.
Elizabeth Brewster suggests that places change our identities when she says nature tidily plotted
in little squares . This gives us the impression that everyone in the city is the same and they are
all neat and tidy busybodies. This differs from what Bhatt suggests when she says Here, the gods
roam freely, / disguised as snakes or monkeys . This shows that in India you can be whoever or
whatever you want without being judged by anyone and you can be unique.
However A Different History is similar to what Brewster is suggesting as Bhatt writes every tree is
sacred . This shows that everything and everyone is equal and has the same rights as each other.
Brewster shows that in her homeland everything is different because there are, battered

  • 2. Schizophrenia and Auditory processing Essay Auditory Processing and Schizophrenia Auditory hallucination is a fundamental presentation observed in patients suffering from schizophrenia. It is one of the frequently occurring symptoms considered to be disabling in schizophrenia, but despite vast and numerous organized studies undertaken in this area in order to comprehend the pathophysiology of auditory hallucination, little success has been realized, and it remains to be complex in research, understanding, and expressing the knowledge accrued (Kaprinis, 2008.) The auditory processing in schizophreniaseems to be different from that of normal individuals because patients inflicted with this mental illness complain of voices deep inside their heads. The voices are described as coming... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The auditory nature in schizophrenics is associated with a possible deficit in the auditory processing. The deficit can either be due to the dysfunction of the sensory aspect of the process of the auditory information processing centers in the brain. The earlier studies employed dichotic tasks of listening to establish the site for the dysfunction causing the auditory deficit, but they yielded variable results. Other studies have gone further to confirm that schizophrenia auditory processing deficits result in the reduced advantage of the right ear in auditory sensory modality as compared to the healthy individuals. However, for dichotic tasks involving quick responses four or three digit pairs in succession, schizophrenic patients demonstrated right ear advantage as compared to the healthy individuals (Kaprinis, 2008). The findings can confirm that the dysfunction in the auditory processing is in different levels; hence, the variability in the results. It is vital to understand that schizophrenic patients demonstrate a variation of other deficits in regard to information processing apart from auditory processing deficits. Whether the deficits are in higher levels such as attention and the processing of context or the dysfunction is in the earlier stages of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Profession Of Social Work When defining social work, the phrase a helping profession is used quite frequently. The profession is often misconstrued with promoting the distribution of welfare. Often times, this stereotype amuses me because social work is remarkably so much more. Not only do people fail to realize that social work is one of the broadest occupations that offers various work environments, but also they neglect one of the key goals besides the act of helping: empowerment. Yes, the profession of social workstrives to provide the needy with physical resources to better improve their lives through numerous institutional and residual programs, yet the most valuable assets a worker can offer are abstract. Social workers are also supposed to educate people by giving them the skills to sustain themselves in society long after they have received their services. By empowering and teaching, social workers uplift and provide opportunity to those who are striving for more. Whether we know it or not, we all have an engrained sense to help others. For some, it fades as we grow older, and for others, it only grows stronger. I ve always loved lending a helping hand; I d like to think I get the trait from my mother. Growing up as a young child, I knew I wanted to help people and give back when I became an adult. The occupation that would aid in completing my commendable task changed quite frequently. The second group known as the Patriarchs of Judaismwere the first three leaders of the Israelites that included Abraham, his son Isaac and his grandson Jacob. The French And Haitian Revolution THE AMERICAN, FRENCH AND HAITIAN REVOLUTION3The Haitian RevolutionThe Haitian Revolution which took place in the year 1791 and went up to 1803 faced twelve years of insurgency and infighting in a bid to abolish the then entrenched slave trade (Geggus, 2002). The revolt in Haiti started as a result of a misunderstanding between the mulattoes and the whites which then escalated into a fully fledged warfare in which the slaves fought with the aim of taking back their freedom from their white masters (Bryan, 1984). In summary, therefore, the HaitiRevolution can be termed as a political movement which sought the abolishment and culmination of a long ongoing slave trade, decolonization, and racial impartiality. In so doing, the French were seeking to bring about the proposition of the law of equality for all humankind and thus promote liberty for each and every citizen. History records those regions initially run and operated by the Frenchmen proved prolific concerning economic sustenance after having undergone urbanization. Therefore the French invasion had no adverse impact on the countries which were run by it and instead showeda robust social, political and economic growth (Acemoglu et al., 2009). The French revolution, therefore, lay to waste the constitutional underpinnings of power initially held by the few and theelite of the society and brought about industrial, social and economic revolution thus paving the way for a prosperous future. • 6. Black Worm The Lumbriculus Variegatus, or Black Worm, is a species of worm, which belong to the Annelida family, meaning their bodies are formed of segments instead of jointed legs (Brinkhurst, Gelder, 1991). The Black worm mainly inhabits the European and North American regions, notably in the shallow habitats, such as the edges of ponds, marshes, or lakes. Black worms diets consist of vegetation, and underwater microorganisms like algae (Brinkhurst, Gelder, 1991). Black worms are normally located in the sandy sediments from deeper parts in the water that they inhabit. Black worms use their head to search for food, while their tales often project upward. In a typical segment, the ventral nerve cord has four pairs of segmental nerves that extend laterally and dorsally around the body wall (Stephenson, 1930). Some of the segment s nerve fibers are sensitive and quickly detect any stimulation to the worms body (Lesiuk, N. M. and C. D. Drewes, 1999). Other fibers are motor fibers that supply wall muscle cells. The nerve cord controls the worm s muscles that, in return, cause it to move. Worms use their muscles to crawl through the mud by getting extra traction from bristles that can be seen from the side of their body. Worms will rapidly pull back their head or tail if it is touched. Worms that hold their tail up to the water surface may quickly withdraw it if a shadow suddenly occurs. This is because these worms have tiny simple eyes (called photoreceptor cells) scattered along their tail segments. In water, worms can also swim for short distances by making corkscrew movements with their body (zool.iastate.edu, n.d., n.a.). The Lumbriculus Variegatus, in recent years had been looked over for classroom and laboratory use. Effects Of Social Media On Teenagers Essay Effects of Social Media on Social Comparison and Self Esteem in Teenagers Nikolo Bobadilla, Gaby Juarez, Lexi McCaig, Noe Molina Texas Tech University Social media applications have had a large impact on many different generations. With the rise of technology and opportunity, social media has become the epicenter for teenagers and college students to express and connect with others through pictures, videos, and personal content. According to a new study from Pew Research Center (2015), 92% of teens report going online daily including 24% who say they go online constantly. As more teens go online, teenagers self esteem and social comparison are impacted with the rising use of social media platforms, like Facebook, in both negative and positive ways. In the same study, Pew Research Center (2015) found that Facebook remains the most used social media site among American teens with 71% of all teens using the site. However, a study done by Amy L. • 9. Organizational Effectiveness Organizational effectiveness is a tool manager s use to measure how effective they; and their organizations are at achieving outcomes and creating value. Organizational effectiveness can be very difficult to measure in an organization. Why? The answer is because organizations can be diverse and very large. Also one organization can have multiple goals and perform many activities at the same time. Managers must decide which indicators they want to measure in order to determine the effectiveness of their organization. There are three approaches managers can use in evaluating effectiveness. They are the external resource approach (Control); the internal systems approach (Innovation); and the technical approach (Efficiency). Each approach... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though the external resource approach can be very valuable when other measures are not available it does have its downside. The approach only vaguely considers the organization s link to the needs of customers in the external environment. The internal systems approach allows managers to evaluate how well their organization functions and how smooth it operates. An organization needs to be able to rapidly create products, make services available; and speed up decision making in order to adapt and respond quickly to the forever changing environment. To measure an organization s capacity for innovation the length of time taken to make decisions, the amount of time taken to get a new product on the market, and the amount o f time spent coordinating duties of different departments are all factored in . These factors can often measured objectively (Jones, 2007, p. 17). For example If an organization was to improve its decision making process it would help it to introduce new products or services to the market sooner and keep up with or surpass its competitors in productivity. When organizations make changes to increase employee morale and coordination this can have a direct impact on its ability to respond to the environment. When employees ... • 12. The Catholic Church Should Accept That Gay Marriage The Catholic Church should accept that gay marriage is morally acceptable and doesn t contradict their beliefs. Gay marriage has been a topic of controversy ever since the 1970 s. May of 1970 to be exact. Around This time two men named Richard John Jack Baker and James Michael McConnell in Minnesota applied to Hennepin County District Court clerk Gerald Nelson for a marriagelicense. They were denied because they both were men. This issue of two people of the same sex getting married is still a topic of debate to a lot of people even after the U.S. Supreme court made gay marriage legal in all 50 states in 20151. The Catholic Church teaches to treat homosexuals with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. That every act of hate, violence, and persecution toward them is condemned. The Church doesn t view homosexuals no poorly than they do everyone else but it is their views on marriage that are in question. They believe that all sexual activity outside of marriage as a sin and an immoral act. So, if we restrict marriage from homosexuals then if they are in a sexual relationship with another they are in turn an immoral person. Therefore, the Catholic Church should view gay marriage the same as heterosexual marriage, with reverence and sanctity. Marriage, also known as the matrimonial covenant, is to establish a partnership between a man and a woman for the entirety of their lives and which is ordered by its nature to the good of the spouses and the procreation ... As a result, Hamilton and Burr disagreed on many things, resulting in a great amount of animosity towards each other. The duel was held on Wednesday, July 11, 1804 in Weehawken, New Jersey. • 17. Nurse Mentoring Concept Analysis Response Nurse Mentoring Concept Analysis Response Introduction According to McEwen and Wills, concepts in the nursing profession are words that describe a variable of nursing practice (2014, pg. 50). Concepts, once defined, are used in research to test hypotheses that will increase knowledge and theory development. However, concept definitions change with time and context. Therefore, it is important to thoroughly and succinctly define concepts within an analysis for a meaningful application. Mentoring in nursing practice has been thought of as a beneficial way of increasing nursing knowledge for several decades (Stewart Krueger, 1996, pg. 311). However, the concept of mentoring had not been defined or analyzed, which made researching its effectiveness useless. This concept analysis of mentoring in nursing practice shows that mentoring can be mutually beneficial for a mentor, protГ©gГ©, and nursing practice. However, further research on this concept is necessary to determine the broader application to nursing as a scientific discipline. Method of Analysis In the concept analysis of mentoring, Stewart and Krueger used the evolutionary method by Rodgers (Stewart Krueger, 1996, pg. 312). This method involves multiple steps of analysis that are often occurring concurrently rather than completing a step after one is completed. The benefit of this method is that it has clear phases in the analytical process but is time efficient because steps are occurring at the same time. It also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Along with the evolving society, Courbet was also evolving his ideas and straying away from the traditional artmaking practices. Courbet challenged the conventions of the French Academy by producing an artwork that shifted the attention from the narrative as a whole to depicting a specific moment of the banal and the every day life in such a deliberate grand scale (Young 58 60). He questioned the institutional relation between art and the public by creating politically subversive artwork by calling attention to the individual and ordinary rural populations. The artwork portrays a young man beside an old man breaking rocks to make way for a road on the outskirts of a town like Ornans, Courbet s birthplace (Eisenman 214). The juxtaposition of the young and old man is pitiable and it creates the idea of an endless cycle. The treachery in this scene is what the narrative entails (Eisenman 209). Although this play has a very tragic backdrop of Russia #8217;s casualty ridden involvement in both World Wars and the Communist Revolution, the characters and their situations suggest a light hearted tone, even though they struggle against the upcoming loss of the orchard. He is addicted to fruit candy and spends every cent he has on feeding his addiction. Another of his actions is his incisive billiard shot calls. Sparatically in the conversation or in mid sentence he will call a shot as if he has a cue in his hand at a pool hall. John Fiero writes in his critical analysis of The Cherry Orchard: Madame Ranevsky is a foolish woman only too anxious to return to a worthless young lover; Gayev is an amiable ass who talks too much; Anya is a goose and her Trofimov a solemn windbag; Lopakhin, the practical self made man, is confused and unhappy; Epihodov a clumsy idiot; Dunyasha a foolish girl; Yasha an insufferable jumped up lad; and Firs far gone in senility (Corbin, John 33 37). This quote shows the comic elements of the character #8217;s personalities and how they are put to work in the play. There are numerous methods; from extracting the juice by hand or the large scaled manufacturing processes that is used to efficiently retrieve the juice from the fruits and vegetables included in the mixture. According to Dr. Joseph Mercola, an alternative medicine proponent, there are two main reasons why the incorporation of vegetable juices are essential to improve the health of the people. First, you are able to consume the ample amount of vegetables and fruits in an efficient manner. Rather than consuming vegetables in its solid form, it is easier to digest it once it s converted to its liquid form. Second, since the consumption of fruits and vegetables would be easier with juicing, you can add a wider variety to your own diet. As it was stated in one of his articles, that once a person repeatedly consumes the same type of vegetables and fruits every day, there is a chance to develop an allergy to a certain type of food. With juicing you may avoid this from happening by expanding the variety of fruits and vegetable you intake and at the same time explore with the variety you are available with. There are many elements I learn when it comes to making an orchestraand composing a music program. An orchestra is a group of musicians that come together to make background music for a TV show or movie. During the class, I learn that they also provide concerts, ballets, and opera to the public. According to English online.at The word orchestra was first used by the ancient Greeks and meant the front part of a stage. During the Middle Ages, it also included the musicians on the stage. The orchestra has a lot of history that goes back to the late 6th and early 7th century. The orchestra group was organized by the kings and queens of Italian and French churches. They used string instruments to perform at dance parties, ballet, and operas. This is fascinating that the orchestra music goes back as far as the late 6th century. I could see how Beethoven, Smetana, Tchaikovsky and among other have made amazing orchestral music and how they were influenced by it. • 38. The Merger Between American Car Manufacturer Chrysler And... 1. What are your views of the Chrysler Fiat strategic alliance in 2009? The merger between American car manufacturer Chrysler and its foreign counterpart, Fiat, was clearly born out of a mutual need for growth as well as to recover financially from various setbacks and failures both had experienced. As the world grows smaller through interconnectivity, the only real option these big car companies have left to grow is to expand internationally. This alliance is a good way to expand into new markets with partners who have experience conducting business in vastly different markets. Seeing as both companies have placed sufficient trust in one another to share technology and resources there is a much greater guarantee that this partnership will outlast the one Fiat had with General Motors. Although this cross border partnership brings its share of benefits, the fact that Chrysler has always been a marginal auto manufacturer with an inconsistent history of quality, weak market share, and old technology is troubling. Fiat has also had its share of problems stemming from issues with Italian labor laws, weakened business environment, and cost issues. But, both parties have shown a strong drive to overcome these issues. Chrysler chose to focus on its most successful car brand, Jeep, and to use it as its main growth platform because of its market share and visibility. Fiat also took steps to reinvent itself by fixing its brand portfolio and quality areas with the aid of its ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Who Is To Blame For Lincoln s Assassination On April 14, 1865, one of the most devastating historic events took place. The war had just ended. Lincoln wanted to get out of the White House to get a good laugh. Lincoln decided to see one of his favorite plays, Our American Cousin. Arriving late, Lincoln was seated in the Presidential Box along with his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, Henry Rathbone, and Rathbone s fiancГ©, Clara Harris. (Holzer) At exactly 10:15 p.m., Booth entered the private box, and shot his .44 caliber single shot derringer into the back of President Lincoln s head. Rathbone tried to stop Booth, but he was stabbed by the assassin. These people included David E. Mudd, a physician who set Booth s leg; Edward Spangler, a stagehand that helped Booth escape; and Mary Eugenia Surratt, the owner of the home where the crimes were planned. These conspirators were all convicted by a nine man military commission. The commission sentenced Arnold, Mudd, and O Laughlin to life imprisonment and sentenced Spangler to six years in prison. O Laughlin died of yellow fever in prison in 1867. Arnold, Mudd, and Spangler were all pardoned by President Johnson in 1869. Mudd also saved many prisoners and guards during the yellow fever epidemic. (Neely) The commission also sentence Herold, Powell, Atzerodt, and Surratt to death. They were hung on July 7. Mary Eugenia Surratt was the first women who was put to death by the federal government. Her son, who was believed to also be involved with the plot, was tried in 1867. He was not released from prison until June, 1868. The hanging of his mother has been considered as a gross miscarriage of justice. Her prosecution never established that she knew anything about the plot and that she was not even part of the assassination plans. (De Witt, Campbell, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Comparing Pros and Cons of S Corporations and LLC s Comparing pros and cons of S corporations and LLC s When people want to form a new business ventures, they usually can house their operation under one of several basic entity types. These entities differ in terms of their legal and tax consideration and each has advantages and disadvantages from both tax and nontax prospective. Therefore, it is important to know what type of entity is the best option before opening a new business and it is really depends on the goals, outlook and strategy for that particular business and its owners. Generally, for tax purpose business entities can be classified as either separate taxpaying entities or as flow through entities. Separate taxpaying entities pay taxes on their own income, in other words, corporation is taxpayer. In contrast, flow through entities are legal entities where income passes to owners; that is, the income of the entities is treated as the income of the owners. It includes many major types of corporation such as S corporations, LLC (Limited Liability Companies), Partnership and Sole Proprietorship. Its major difference from C corporations is that a flow through entity is not taxed at entity level; rather, the income generated by the organization is taxed directly to the owners. Therefore, Flow through entities are a common device used to limit taxation by avoiding double taxation. Among these flow through entities, I am going to compare and contrast S corporations and LLCs in different aspects. In order to make ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the mid nineteenth century, Espedalen was a very busy place, for it was then the world s largest centre for nickel mining, and hundreds of men worked there. But today few signs of that activity remain, and the valley is peaceful and empty. You can reach it by taking a morning train from Osloairport to Lillehammer and then the afternoon bus to Espedalen. The bus drops off at each of the three hotels in the valley. For logistical reasons, it s best to arrange to spend both the first and last nights of your holiday at one of these hotels, because you will almost certainly want to use their transport at the end of the tour, as we will see. (You might also want to use their transport at the start of the tour, perhaps to shorten the first day.) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Moreover, it plays a great role in development of medicine, science, education, transport and other spheres of human s life. However, electricity production is becoming more and more problematic because the biggest part of energy for electricity is produced by natural resources, which are neither infinite nor renewable. It means that one day mineral reserves can run out, and, as a result, there will be risk of possible energy crisis. This situation stimulates humanity to transfer to renewable power system. Countries around the world are promoting sustainable energy policies, particularly to reduce... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover, there are almost 3000 hours of sunshine per year, while energy from solar radiation is 1500 1800 kW/m2/year (Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP) 1997). Despite the very appropriate conditions for realization of solar energy, this resource is little used. So, Kazakhstan should pay attention to the adoption of renewable energy supply system to the daily life and make a compelling choice between photovoltaic technology of converting sunlight into usable form and concentrated solar thermal plants in an economically and environmentally advantageous way. Hence, this paper will evaluate to what extent is solar energy suitable and viable source of carbon free energy for Kazakhstan. Also different types of technologies necessary to make the conversion of solar energy into electricity will be examined, particularly concentrated solar power will be considered as a possible solution to the existing situation and possible energy problems in Kazakhstan. Main Body Dependence on coal, oil and gas and other natural resources pose a threat to the future with air pollution, changes in climate and economic instability due to the fluctuations of fuel prices. Instead of wagering on unreliable fuel materials, people should learn how to use planet s infinite sources of renewable energy effectively. • 48. Synthesis Of Tert-Butyl Chloride Lab Report The objective surrounding the experiment outlined by this report is to perform an SN1 reaction to synthesize tert butyl chloride while recording the reactivity of the compound with sodium iodide and silver nitrate reagents. Nucleophilic substitution reactions, denoted SN1 or SN2, are characterized by a nucleophile(electron pair donor) reacting with an electrophile (electron pair acceptor) to break a bond at a carbon to form a new bond with that carbon.1 In order for the reaction to take place, a compound or element must break away from the electrophile, so it may accept electrons from the nucleophile.2 The octet rule must not be disobeyed and thus, the leaving group allows space for other electrons to attach. Figure 1.1 (right) shows a typical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For this experiment, the nucleophile will be considered the chloride ion from HCl. The chloride ion in this case constitutes a good nucleophile because it is charged with a 1 and is relatively low in electronegativity.5 Since the chloride ion will be donating a pair of its electrons, the fact that it is negatively charge indicates that it indeed has extra electrons to donate and thus its nucleophilic character is greater as a result. Additionally, the electronegativity of the chloride ion is a showing of how willing the ion is to donate elctrons, or rather how tightly the chloride ion holds those electrons to the nucleus. A low electronegativity indicates that the ion is larger in size and allows electrons to float more freely and also donates those outer electrons more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This shows that every different place we visit we take the memories and experiences that we had there and keep them in our minds and hearts forever. Whereas Bhatt suggests that when we go to a new place we forget who we previously were and change ourselves so that we fit in with the new culture that we are living in.
