Impact of urbanization and industrialization.pptxAlok Verma
Urbanization is a process that leads to the growth of cities due to industrialization and economic development, and that leads to urban- specific changes in specialization, labor division and human behaviors.
An n-gram language model is a language model that models sequences of words as a Markov process. It makes use of the simplifying assumption that the probability of the next word in a sequence depends only on a fixed size window of previous words.
Climate Change & Urban Development Have Impacted Streamflows in Southern OntarioRobert Muir
Dr. Trevor Dickinson, Professor Emeritus University of Guelph presented his work with Ramesh Rudra and Kishor Panjabi, Water Resources Engineering, University of Guelph to the Southern Ontario Stormwater Discussion Group at its September 27, 2018 meeting in Brantford, Ontario. The presentation shows the effects of climate on streamflows in southern Ontario including lower spring flow volumes and rates, and the effects of urbanization on streamflows including higher spring and summer flows. The distribution of flooding events through the years is reviewed, showing fewer spring and more summer period flood events. Climate change appears to increase winter runoff volumes due to higher temperatures which reduce spring volumes and peaks, a decrease in flood risk.
a) Identify and explain (describe) the settlement patterns in Uganda.
b) Explain the rationale for rural urban migration consider the following atmosphere, hydrosphere, how man has interacted with the Environment. Impact of man's interacted with the environment. (positive). Man's interaction with the environment (negative effects) e.g., industrialization, urbanization etc.

How to Make a Field invisible in Odoo 17Celine George
It is possible to hide or invisible some fields in odoo. Commonly using “invisible” attribute in the field definition to invisible the fields. This slide will show how to make a field invisible in odoo 17.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

Students, digital devices and success - Andreas Schleicher - 27 May 2024..pptxEduSkills OECD
Andreas Schleicher presents at the OECD webinar ‘Digital devices in schools: detrimental distraction or secret to success?’ on 27 May 2024. The presentation was based on findings from PISA 2022 results and the webinar helped launch the PISA in Focus ‘Managing screen time: How to protect and equip students against distraction’ https://www.oecd-ilibrary.org/education/managing-screen-time_7c225af4-en and the OECD Education Policy Perspective ‘Students, digital devices and success’ can be found here - https://oe.cd/il/5yV
Model Attribute Check Company Auto PropertyCeline George
In Odoo, the multi-company feature allows you to manage multiple companies within a single Odoo database instance. Each company can have its own configurations while still sharing common resources such as products, customers, and suppliers.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
How to Create Map Views in the Odoo 17 ERPCeline George
The map views are useful for providing a geographical representation of data. They allow users to visualize and analyze the data in a more intuitive manner.
2. What does this mean ?
Factors are things that contribute to
(make) differences in development
Differences have measurements on them
(characteristics) (statistics) eg Infant
Mortality rate is 34/1000 in XX and
12/1000 in YY
In AS91242 these are split into Natural
and Cultural in the current version of the
Standard
3. Natural Factors
Natural Factors are the starting point that leads to a
cultural difference and they are all about the natural
environment they have nothing to do with People
Rainfall, Heat, Soil, Landforms, Coasts, Water, drought,
Monsoon rains, Floods, Soil Erosion etc
Eg
place XX has access to the sea but place YY does not
Place XX is affected by the Monsoon but place YY is not
Place XX has nutritious, fertile soils but Place YY has
desertified barren soils.
Place XX has clean water supplies (lakes, rivers) Place
YY has stagnant waters
4. Natural factors are not
Deforestation of rural areas
Piped Water in the city
Jobs in the city so not affected by
drought
Monsoon rains in Place A AND Monsoon
rains in Place B (no difference)
Drainage pipes to take away heavy
rains
5. Cultural Factors
Cultural Factors are the starting point that leads
to a cultural difference and they are all about the
built / man made environment
Piped Water, Jobs, Fertilisers, Religion,
Deforestation, planting forests, digging new
drainage channels.
Eg
In City DD they have drains to take away the
Monsoon rains
In Rural Area CC they have removed all the trees
(Deforestation) so there is increased runoff
In Country AA they believe that a womans role is
one of child raring so women do not go to work,
this reduces the GDP of the country.
6. Make sure you understand the
Difference
Now try the Card sorting Activity to
see if you can classify the types of
Factors.
