Several JCCCRA members have expressed an interest in accessing the JCCC Retirees Association Facebook page BUT are concerned about setting up a Facebook account with all the corresponding privacy concerns. Or they’re concerned about the need to log-in and check one more site for messages, dealing with an avalanche of friend requests, unwanted messages and pervasive marketing. In this presentation, we will show how to create a limited Facebook profile that avoids all of these concerns (video on second slide)…and makes it possible to not even log into Facebook but still gain access to JCCCRA postings. Even if you are already on Facebook, this session may be useful as it deals with limiting access to your profile and posts (a section of the slideshow covers privacy settings), plus addresses other privacy concerns.

 In the search results, under Groups,
you’ll see JCCCRA listed. This is a
Facebook “closed group” where only
members of JCCCRA can post and see
the posts.
 On the page, click the Join button (by the
group name).
 Once you’ve joined (and a site
administrator confirms your
membership), you’ll see JCCCRA
postings for the closed group.
