This document presents an experimental investigation on the wear effects of different particle sizes of molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) as a lubricant additive under heavy load and slow speed conditions. It was found that while MoS2 nano-particles reduced wear due to their properties, they also caused increased wear when agglomerated, suggesting their effectiveness is dependent on size and dispersion. In contrast, technical grade MoS2 particles demonstrated the lowest wear, indicating their potential superiority as lubricant additives.
