I am currently teaching a practicum where my students (who are actually teachers
getting their master s degree in special education) are teaching students with special
needs. Some of these teachers are encountering students with autism for the first time
and have felt some anxiety about this so they asked for some ideas and strategies to
help them in the classroom. These are some of the suggestions that I have given them
that I have used in the classroom successfully.
1. Use Task Analysis very specific, tasks in sequential order.
2. Always keep your language simple and concrete. Get your point across in as few
words as possible. Typically, it s far more effective to say Pens down, close your
journal and line up to go outside than It looks so nice outside. Let s do our science
lesson now. As soon as you ve finished your writing, close your books and line up at
the door. We re going to study plants outdoors today .
3. Teach specific social rules/skills, such as turn taking and social distance.
4. Give fewer choices. If a child is asked to pick a color, say red, only give him two to
three choices to pick from. The more choices, the more confused an autistic child will
become.
5. If you ask a question or give an instruction and are greeted with a blank stare,
reword your sentence. Asking a student what you just said helps clarify that you ve

Railroad, I never ran my train off the track and I never lost a passenger (Petry, 15).
The story of Harriet Tubman began when she was born into slavery in 1820 on the
plantation of Edward Brodas. Tubman was born on a plantation on the eastern
Maryland shore during a time that was being plagued with economic uncertainty.
More slaves were living with increased anxiety during this time. Along with the
economic hardships, slaves were being sold to traders further south leaving their
families behind (Petry, 17). Many of the slaves that lived on Brodas plantation
lived on the words that they would be freed when he died. Many of the stories
written describe Harriet Tubman s early years as the ones of a typical slave life.
Harriet s mother, who was known as Old Rit, was one on those promised freedom
when Brodas died along with her children (Petry, 28). Old Rit had ten children not
including Harriet. Like any mother who had children in that time line, Old Rit
worried that her children would be sold into slavery before Brodas died still

As middle ages came to an end the feudal system decayed, the western world
embarked on a transformation that would forever alter its identity. A profound
change of ideologies in art, culture and intellect sparked a revolution that dismantled
medieval society and propelled European culture into the modern era. This cultural
and intellectual movement began primarily in Italyand later spread to the rest of
Europe. The period of innovative change is called The Renaissance. The word
Renaissance originates from the French word, rebirth. The Renaissance is
considered a crucial and pivotal period in Western Civilization. The cultural
phenomena took hold of practically every facet of society. However, it was largely
considered a time of the resurgence of the classical Greek and Roman education and
wisdom which many believed were lost to the Middle Ages. Italian scholars believed
the middle ages to be a dark time, a time considered a period of stagnation in which
education, literature, and the arts did not progress and declined.
Humanism was the intellectual movement of the Renaissance period, in which
individuals concentrated on life in the present rather than life after death. Two major
works from the period of the Renaissance, at different ends of the spectrum,
illustrated this new way of thinking; a self consciousness to the here and now as
opposed to the predominating theme or focus of the Middle Ages, the afterlife.

Planning the Website
I believe I was able to include all of the components specified in the planning and
preparation stages of my website.
I created a structure diagram which is a conceptual modeling tool used to
document the different structures that make up a system, such as a database or an
application. It shows the hierarchy or structure of the different components or
modules of the system. I have added all the links of the websites I will be using.
However, due to my website plan being complex I added fewer links and made it less
complex, but it looks professional. The index of files and pages is a list showing
the folders and files I will use on my website. This made life a lot easier because I
was more organised. As well as, I could just copy the name of the file that I would
save it as. Also, this saves me time. However, it makes it more time consuming
saving it a particular way looking for the index of files and pages document.
Improvements I could have done made the titles shorter, which would have made me
save my time.
I also created an action plan. This is because then I would be aware when I should

with the M2 selective orthosteric superagonist, Iperoxo in hybrids 2 and 3. In
hybrid 4, another derivative of BQCA was linked with the compound 1 (AF292), a
M1 selective agonist. Hybrid 5 was synthesized with compound 1 linked to the
