Analysis UBER's strategy.
1. Define the problem UBER has tried to solve. (from both supplier and consumer's points of view)
2. Transportation industry(Taxi) before UBER
3. How UBER business actually works
4. Their international strategy
5. Five forces analysis
6. Challenges and suggestions
These slides use concepts from my (Jeff Funk) course entitled Biz Models for Hi-Tech Products to analyze the business model for Uber’s taxi service. Uber’s service enables anyone to provide taxi services and it provides dynamic pricing for better matching of supply and demand. Its value proposition for potential drivers is the opportunity to work as driver on their own hours. Its value proposition for user to lower taxi fares during most times of the day and a higher supply of taxis (and higher prices) during peak demand. The customers are tech-savvy and smart phone users who value their time. Uber receives payments directly from customers and keeps a percentage of these payments as its income. Uber’s patents for a demand-price algorithm represent a barrier of entry and thus a method of strategic control.

Silvergate Bank Results Presentation Deck Jan 2023.pdfBryann Alexandros
Silvergate Bank was a bank in California that helped people and businesses who used cryptocurrencies. The bank was started in 1988 and began working with the crypto sector in 2016. It became a public company in 2019 and was one of the best banks for crypto new things. It had a platform called the Silvergate Exchange Network (SEN) that let people do fast and safe deals between crypto companies and big investors. But Silvergate Bank went broke in March 2023 after having many problems in the crypto market. The bank lost a lot of money after FTX, one of its big customers and partners, went broke too. The bank also lost money from the drop in cryptocurrency prices and the law problems on crypto things. The bank said that it was closing and selling its things after not getting any help or a buyer. The collapse of Silvergate Bank made a lot of fear and doubt in the crypto sector, as many customers and businesses could not get their money and services. The bank’s failure also made people wonder about the future and success of crypto banking and new things.

52 Types of Marketing Strategies to help you build awareness and attract new customers. If anyone is looking for social media marketing strategies and tactics.
52 Types of Marketing Strategies
In order for businesses to win market share and stay relevant they need to consider many types of marketing strategies. Each marketing strategy can communicate to a target market the benefits and features of a product.
Marketing strategies can also communicate an overall value to their customers. In many cases, this is the core of building equity or good will in your target markets. Apple, for example, has invested in creating commercials for television, billboards, and magazines that showcase their products in such a way that their customers feel an affinity towards Apple’s products.

The process of defining and subdividing a large homogenous market into clearly identifiable segments having similar needs, wants, or demand characteristics. Its objective is to design a marketing mix that precisely matches the expectations of customers in the targeted segment.
Few companies are big enough to supply the needs of an entire market; most must breakdown the total demand into segments and choose those that the company is best equipped to handle.

Ten Characteristics Common To Highly Effective Entrepreneurs
Wondering if you have what it takes to succeed as an entrepreneur? What separates those who launch and grow successful companies from less successful peers?
What trait do entrepreneurs like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Lawrence Ellison and Richard Branson have that the ordinary entrepreneurs don't?
To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.Mihran Kalaydjian
“This life is what you make it. No matter what, you're going to mess up sometimes, it's a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you're going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends - they'll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything - they're your true best friends. Don't let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they'll come and go too. And baby, I hate to say it, most of them - actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can't give up because if you give up, you'll never find your soulmate. You'll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don't, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton have been pronounced husband and wife at Westminister Abbey in London. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as they will now be known, made their vows in front of 1,900 guests and the eyes of the world.
All eyes were on the bride as she made her way towards the abbey. She showed few signs of nerves, smiling and waving at the crowds from her limousine and sat next to her father, Michael. The bride opted for a simple creation by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen with lace sleeves, a swagged train and a fine veil of chantilly lace. According to Buckingham Palace the dress "epitomises timeless British craftsmanship by drawing together talented and skilled workmanship from across the United Kingdom".
Flanked by her sister and maid of honour, Pippa Middleton, who was wearing a long, cream silk gown, the bride was also accompanied by young bridesmaids Eliza Lopes, Grace van Cutsem, Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, and Margarita Armstrong-Jones, and pageboys Tom Pettifer and William Lowther-Pinkerton.
Prince William stood next to his brother, Prince Harry, and as his girlfriend of 10 years joined him at the altar the heir to the throne broke into a smile. Kate's mother, Carole Middleton, wearing a fitted blue-grey Catherine Walker outfit, looked on with pride.
The wedding ceremony passed without hitch, with the only moment of tension provided as Prince William struggled to put the ring, fashioned from Welsh gold given to Prince William by the Queen, on his bride's finger.
After the vows Rowan Williams, the archbishop of Canterbury, declared: "I pronounce that they be man and wife together, in the name of the father, and of the son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen."
In a prayer, written by the couple for the occasion, they said: "God our father, we thank you for our families; for the love that we share and for the joy of our marriage."
As the couple left Westminster Abbey the crowds, some of whom had been camping for days for the moment, erupted into a fresh wave of cheers as they climbed into state landau carriages for the horse-drawn procession to Buckingham Palace. The married couple waved at crowds as they passed the crowds via Parliament Square, Whitehall, Horse Guards and the Mall. Despite fears of thundery showers, threatening grey skies produced no rain.
The couple joined the Queen who is giving a lunchtime reception at Buckingham Palace for 650 guests, described by the palace as "a private gathering for guests drawn from the congregation who will represent the couple's official and private lives".
At just before 1.30pm William and Kate kissed for the first time in public on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. The fleeting embrace sent the already ecstatic crowds wild, and was repeated during a flypast.
After more than five minutes of waving to the crowds, the couple walked hand in hand back through the doors of the palace. Earlier, stepping on to the balcony, Kate appeared to gasp "Oh my" as th

and competitors less meaningful. We believe Adjusted EBITDA is a useful measure for analysts and investors to evaluate our future on-
going performance as this measure allows a more meaningful comparison of our performance and projected cash earnings with our
historical results from prior periods and to the results of our competitors. Moreover, our management uses this measure internally to
evaluate the performance of our business as a whole and our individual business segments. In addition, we believe that by excluding
certain items, such as stock-based compensation and acquisition-related impacts, Adjusted EBITDA corresponds more closely to the
cash operating income generated from our business and allows investors to gain an understanding of the factors and trends
affecting the ongoing cash earnings capabilities of our business, from which capital investments are made and debt is serviced.
Adjusted EPS is defined as Adjusted Net Income divided by adjusted weighted average shares outstanding, which include dilution
from options and warrants per the treasury stock method and include all shares relating to RSUs in shares outstanding for Adjusted
EPS. This differs from the GAAP method for including RSUs, which treats them on a treasury method basis. Shares outstanding for
Adjusted EPS purposes are therefore higher than shares outstanding for GAAP EPS purposes. We believe Adjusted EPS is useful to
investors because it represents, on a per share basis, Expedia’s consolidated results, taking into account depreciation, which we
believe is an ongoing cost of doing business, as well as other items which are not allocated to the operating businesses such as
interest expense, taxes, foreign exchange gains or losses, and minority interest, but excluding the effects of certain expenses not
directly tied to the core operations of our businesses. Adjusted Net Income and Adjusted EPS have similar limitations as Adjusted
EBITDA. In addition, Adjusted Net Income does not include all items that affect our net income / (loss) and net income / (loss) per
share for the period. Therefore, we think it is important to evaluate these measures along with our consolidated statements of
operations.
