2. Pakistan International Airlines is the

8. Federal Secretary Aviation Division & Chairman PIACL
Sqn. Ldr (Retd) Muhammad Irfan Elahi is Federal Secretary
Aviation Division and an elected Director. Mr. Elahi holds
Masters Degree in Public Administration and is a Law
Graduate from Punjab University. He is also Chairman of
Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority and PIA Investments
Limited. He is Member of PIACL Board COE Committee,
HR & Compensation Committee as well as Procurement
Committee.

9. Mr. Atif Aslam Bajwa is a nominated Director since
June 7, 2017. Mr. Bajwa is a graduate from
Columbia University, New York, USA.
Mr. Bajwa is on the Board of PIA Investments
Limited. He is Chairman of PIACL Board Audit
Committee and Member of Board Finance
Committee.

10. Mr. Adnan Ahmed Khan is a nominated Director
since June 07, 2017. He has engineering and
business education from USA. Mr. Khan joined
Naubahar Bottling Co. (Pvt) Limited as Chief
Operating Officer (COO) and Director in 2001.
He is Member of PIACL Board Audit Committee,
COE Committee as well as Procurement
Committee.

11. Federal Secretary Finance
Mr. Arif Ahmed Khan is Federal Secretary Finance
and a nominated Director since September 19,
2017. He holds Masters degree in Public Policy
from Concordia University, Canada.
He is Ex-officer Chairman of PIACL Board Finance
Committee.

12. Mr. Farrukh H Khan is a nominated Director since June 7, 2017. He
is a qualified Chartered Accountant from the UK. He has also done
BA (Hons.) in Economics and Finance from the University of
Manchester. He is Senior Director Business Development of Acumen,
and has been a member of Management Committee of the firm. He
is Member of PIACL Board Audit Committee as well as HR &
Compensation Committee.

13. Mr. Tariq Kirmani is a nominated Director since June 7, 2017. He
holds Masters Degree in Business Administration.
Currently, he is serving as Chairman of United Bank Limited Fund
Managers, National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA),
Greenstar Social Marketing (GSM) and Punjab Energy Holding
Company (Pvt.) Ltd. (PEHCL). He is also serving as a Director on
the Board of Professional Education Foundation (PEF), Family
Education Services Foundation (FESF) and serving as an Advisor
to the Board of Gas & Oil Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. (GO). He is
Chairman of PIACL Board HR & Compensation Committee and
Member of Board Audit Committee as well as COE Committee.

39.  Tax departments have raised demand for Rs.566.5 million
as Federal Excise duty along with penalty of Rs.1 million
and additional duty of Rs.2923.005 million because holding
Company did not collected FED on tickets provided to its
employers .
 The tax department has also raised demands of Rs.6.8
million and Rs.277.6 million on 11 March 08 as FED and
sales tax these demands were raised on issues of late
payment of FED, collection of FED at incorrect rate . The
holding company has filled an appeal with the collector of
customs, sales tax and Federal Excise which has been
decided partially in favor of holding company.
 A show cause notice was issued to the holding company by
the collector of customs demanding payment of Rs.87,926
million in respect of custom duties and other taxes on
import of simulator, Holding company has filed an appeal
before the High court which is pending.

40.  Competition commission of Pakistan vide its
order dated on November 20 2009 has imposed
a token penalty of Rs.10 million on account of
unreasonable increase in Hajj fare during the
year 2008. Rs.417 million refund is due but
company has filed appeal in Lahore High court
and Supreme Court of Pakistan.
 Various ex-employees of the company have
lodged claims against company for not paying
their dues specially relating to their
reinstatements.
 The company is contesting several litigations
mainly relating to suits filed against for
unlawful terminations of contracts. b reach of
contractual rights and obligations.

41.  Commitments for capital expenditure
amounted to Rs.69.1 million (2013: Rs.63.0
million).
 Outstanding letters of credit amounted to
Rs.91.0 million (2013:Rs.113.9million).
 Outstanding letters of guarantee amounted
