Essay On Mexican American War
Today, the Mexican American War is still a widely argued topic of controversy with Mexico and
America. But now, this hot topic of controversy can be put to rest. Was the U.S. justified in going
to war with Mexico? The United States was justified in going to war with Mexico because Texas
had been free and wanted to be annexed into the U.S., Mexicoattacked U.S troops, and Mexico let
U.S citizens in. Before this whole war started, Mexico had won its independence from Spain in
1821., Shortly after in 1830, an American named Stephen Austin went to Texasfor a huge piece of
land. He then brought 10,000 Anglos, or white people, into Texas because it was his end of the
bargain. After that, the Mexican government put tighter control on Texas, and also enforced laws
the Anglos in Texas did not believe were right. Just like the American Revolution, a rebellion
started in 1833. In 1836, a Spanish fort that was turned into a base for the Texan rebellion, called
the Alamo, was attacked. All of the Texan fighters were killed. That devastating loss somehow
helped Texas to win the next war, and gain its independence. (Roden 269) Shortly after, Texas was
annexed into the United Statesof... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The U.S troops were on what they thought was the U.S. s side. Then, Mexican troops attacked
the camping U.S. troops. When word arrived on May 9, 1846 that Mexican troops had fired
upon Americans on the Texas side of the Rio Grande, president Polk had a reason for going to
war. (Roden 317) There were 63 U.S. officers who were camping on the north side of the Rio
Grande watching to see if any Mexican troops were about to cross over to attack. Then, a way
bigger army of Mexican troops attacked them.(Polk 325) Even JeЕ›us Velasco Marquez, a modern

How Did Tom Wolfe Criticize The Bauhaus
The aftermath of the First World War brought forth an era of new technology, a movement that
focused on serving the masses and produce art that focused on functionality rather than aesthetics.
The Bauhaus was a school in Germany founded by Walter Gropius, who had ideals to bring a
unification between arts and design. Students were taught to embrace new technology and create
architecture that highlights its functionality. This minimalism approach became an integral part of
what has become of modernismtoday. Although, this is not without its critics, American journalist
Tom Wolfe, criticises Bauhausarchitects as creating unattractive architecture and that it is no longer
art. Although the original institution does not operate anymore, its... Show more content on

The style was born of inspiration toward Bauhaus and adopts the principle of purism and
minimalism. Architects were becoming dissatisfied with the ongoing use of mixed decorative
elements from different architectural periods that showed limited or no relation to the buildings
function. Therefore architect Le Corbusier s presentation of using steel and glass in the Modern
Architecture Exhibition of 1932 piqued interest in the architecture community. Using the teachings
and principles he enforced using his Bauhaus years, Le Corbusier was able to expand his Bauhaus
teaching to the American market in the form the International Style. A famous modernist work by
Le Corbusier, the Villa Savoye, became the epitome of the international style. It emphasised that
architects should be responsible for researching and solving the problem of between cost and
function of a building. Due to the influence of Bauhaus, modern architecture became more
beneficial and became an architecture design style that recorded the lowest prices at that time due
to its simplicity, costing only twenty cents per square foot. The building not only maximises the
money spent but also breaks traditional cliche design concepts at the time more specifically heavy
foundations and narrow windows. The influence of Bauhaus spreads worldwide defining the

Abortion Vs Pro Life Essay
Introduction Abortion is a big social issue. Either being a Pro Life or a Pro Choice. Choosing a
life or aborting the life of a baby. When the baby is inside the womb, the mother or family has the
choice to either keep the baby or have an abortion. People need to know what all happens in an
abortion, and if they are Pro Life or a Pro Choice person. Description The abortion issue is a case
where the doctor terminates a pregnancy. Abortions are preformed normally before the third
trimester. People around the world are in a jam. They are fighting about if being pro choice is
right or if being pro life is right. The bigger issue here is the partial birth abortion (Gill, 2016). A
partial birth abortion is when the doctor has the baby... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I am not the one that says that handicapped children should be aborted. No. I am the one that says
it is wrong on all terms. The crazy thing is that there is at least 210,000,000 pregnancies a year,
and 75,000,000 are abortions. Out of those abortions 21,600,000 of them are unsafe. Out of
those unsafe abortions there have been about 8,500,000 mothers needed to have medical
attention because they were either depressed, or very injured. 47,000 mothers have died in those
abortions. To me that is just very depressing and sad. They say the babies can t feel anything.
That s where they are very wrong. An unborn baby is able to feel pain at the earliest of 8 weeks,
at 20 weeks the baby can feel more pain than the average human. Some abortions can be because
of rape , no 99% of abortions have nothing to do with rape. The sad thing is that if you work out
the numbers theres about 1.3 million abortions a year. 1.3 million divided by 365 days, comes
out to 3,500 a day. 3,500 a day divided by 24 hours, comes out to 145 an hour. 145 divided by 1
hour(60 min), that sadly comes out to 2 per min. Coming from a Catholic background and
growing up always knowing that abortion is a bad thing, I can make my own opinions on things
and knowing all the facts and all the stats I can say for myself that abortion is

Work Life Balance Is Dead By Isabel Rimanoczy Summary
Ms. Isabel Rimanoczy made great points in this article. Though some may view her as a work
body, she and I share a mutual understanding when it comes to work life balance. Ms. Rimanoczy
is not buying the idea that there is some sort of balance between the two aspects of our lives.
Work life balance is dead and it may be a good thing (Rimanoczy, 2015). I agree with her
statement because if anyone takes the time to think about it, they will soon come to terms with the
idea that it really becomes impossible to separate work and personal life. Some of us grow up with
moral values, standards, and familytraditions carried on through religious beliefs. When we go to
work we will bring along our character because our personal life defines us as

Taking a Look at Dementia
Dementia is a broad term that encompasses a variety of different diseases and syndromes(The
dementia timebomb, 2013). About 38 million in the united states and 820,000 in the United
Kingdom are diagnosed with one of the over 100 types of dementia. It is also and aged related
condition, so most people inflicted with it are older rather than younger. A person can have
multiple forms of dementia or a disease such as alzheimer s diseases that involves dementia
symptoms. Symptoms of dementia include: memory loss, disorientation, loss of motor skills, not
being able to eat or drink, depression and even hallucinations. Most of these symptoms are caused
due to a problem within the central nervous system, more specifically the brain. As the condition
progresses so do the symptoms related to it. In the later stages of the condition, many patients
have been noted to have vivid hallucinations that they believe to be real life events. They may not
be able to recognize their own loved ones, but sometimes are able to recall back on old memories.
In some patients they forget the time and place and even resort back to being a child again
(Jenkins C McKay A, 2013).
In many forms of dementia, The Frontal lobe and the temporal lobe of the brain has been damaged.
The cells in these lobes are dying off slowly and connection is losted. This is due to the loss of
neurons in both lobes of the brain. Scary tissues develops in these parts of the brain also. Many of
the surviving cells tend to have

Amanda Knox Essay
9 October 2012
The muder of Meredith Kercher was covered very differently from beginning to end. Media bias
was present on both sides of guilty and not guilty. The story was hard to keep straight as
information was either left out or presented falsely. News articles presented soon after a story, is
useful for awareness of the issue; however, exact details are generally not presented fairly or true
fully.
An article written in 2007 was one of the first published after the murder of Meredith Kercher. This
article has valid information; however, important details were left out which made Amanda seem
guilty. NBC did a respectable job at walking the reader through Merediths murder. They mentioned
suspects, cause of death, and interviewed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Amanda who is the prime suspect, changed her story over and over again during the first few
weeks following the murder. Her first story was that neither she nor her boyfriend, Rafaelle, were
present at the apartment during the murder. She says they were at Rafaelles smoking pot and
having sex ( Murphy Denis). Just five days later her story changed again. She claimed she was
present at their apartment as well as Lumamna, who she claimed killed Meredith. However, during
her court trial, she confessed that Lumumna was never present and that she made the confession
up. Her final confession came back to the first: that she was never at the apartment the night of
November 1, and that she didn t remember much of the night because of the weed. Another thing
covered in Denis Murphy s, NBC news article was hat Amanda claimed to have returned on the
morning of November 2nd and saw traces of a break in, blood on the carpet, but was not alarmed.
Amanda then showered and returned to Ralealles houses. They both returned to the apartment
around 12:30pm when the police showed up and broke down Meredith s door to find the gruesome
murder scene.
Murphy, an NBC news journalist, did a great job of collecting quotes from both sides of Amanda s
personality. When asked about Amandas personality traits, Alexandra, a friend of Amanda s, stated
Generous, kind, genuine, optimistic bubbly. Pretty much all the good words that you can find in

Compare And Contrast Icd And Standard Internationa Medical...
According to the American College of Medical Quality, medical necessity is defined as accepted
health care services and supplies provided by health care entities, appropriate to the evaluation
and treatment of a disease, condition, illness or injury and consistent with the applicable standard
of care. This ensures that doctors conduct the proper and necessary actions to ensure the safety
and care of a patient. Besides doing the right thing, doctors are held accountable for the welfare a

procedures administered and helping expedite the payment of services for physicians, medical

health care areas, aiding in administrative functions, as well as identifying symptoms that have
medical necessity and referenced by other physicians or specialists. As an example, for a general
urinalysis, the coder must input the code of 81000 for male or female patients. The mistake that
could be made is if the coder input 81025 for a specific urinalysis for a pregnancy test. This event
could happen if the diagnosis was reversed and a female expecting a pregnancy urinalysis gets a

Compare Coca-Cola And Pepsi s Website
There are a lot of soda companies out there, even though not all of them are similar, especially
their marketing strategies and how they give use of their websites. A couple of the mainstream
companies are Coca Cola and Pepsi. While some people will make a very strong case that they are
very different in taste, this is especially true with their websites and the way they show themselves.
Let s compare the Coca Cola s website with Pepsi s website, the biggest difference is the color.
Coca Cola uses red as their predominant color and Pepsi uses blue.
The first thing a guest will notice on Coca Cola s website is that the way the links are set up is
extremely disorganized. They can make it look more professional, if they stop re directing their
links to different websites. For example, if someone were to click on Coke in The USA tab on
the homepage, and decide to click on any of the links in the drop down menu, then the guest will
quickly realize that a new tab opened up on their web browser, and that they are now on a different
website. This sounds simple in theory, however a guest will end up with numerous tabs, which they

they use flash games and videos made by consumers themselves, while Pepsi focuses only on

messier because the website navigation is very complicated, and they drop down menu is
overwhelming. While this will cover more information, the readers can t focus on any one
particular topic because once again it is confusing. If they keep this clutter up, then, they won t
have a very high consumer satisfaction in regards to their website. On the other hand, Pepsi s
website covers all contents, on one website except the product store. This looks simpler and

United States Health Care System
TITLE OF PAPER
For many years the condition of the United States health care system has been a hot topic for
debate. Some would like to believe that the U.S has the best health care system in the world, but
unfortunately that may not be the truth. In 2000 The World Health Organization (WHO) released a
world health report. The report ranked the overall health system performance of 191 countries; the
United States was ranked at 37 out of the 191. With out of control costs, highly inequitable
coverage and comparatively low health outcomes, the US healthcare system has failed to provide
efficient, dependable coverage for the population as a whole as compared to most European and

citizens that a new plan to reform health care had to be devised.
On March 23, 2010 congress approved and President Obama signed The Patient Protection and
Affordable Care Act (PPACA) into law. The PPACA is more commonly known as just the
Affordable Care Act (ACA) or negatively as Obamacare. In order for the ACA to be passed, the
President had to appease the different political parties. As a result, the ACA is not entirely an
original idea. Some of the main provisions already had the support of various political parties,
because they had been introduced by past presidents and political parties in their health reform
plans over the past few decades. Some examples include: both Nixon and Carter had employer
mandates; Bush had a version of the individual mandate, both Bush and Clinton proposed similar
ideas to the insurance marketplace, among a few others. The ACA is similar to universal health care;
the objective is to ensure that the US citizens have access to affordable quality healthcare, instead
of a free market for all like in other countries it is still for profit. The Affordable Care Act increases
access to care, makes health insurance more affordable, strengthens Medicare and ensures that
Americans have more rights and protections (U.S. Department of

How To Invade Iraq
Support To invade Iraq Hindsight makes everyone geniuses. With hindsight, more people would
have bought shares in Microsoft when it first came out. Ditto for Amazon, Facebook, something
called Berkshire Hathaway, and shares in, what was then, a small retailer based in Arkansas
Walmart. We do not have hindsight. We can not guarantee success in everything we do. If the Iraq

destruction. It did not, on both counts. It lasted 3,195 days from March 20, 2003 till December 18,
2011.
If we look back on the events surrounding the war, we can understand how it happened.
Surprisingly, however, when we understood how, it was easier to understand and support the why.
In March 2003, the United States initiated a preemptive war on Iraq. Iraq had nuclear capability

Childhood depression affects people in different ways. Some depression could make the child

Introduction
The American Revolution ended with triumphant colonists gaining independence and founding
their own nation. The Civil War ended with the Confederates failing, where the original colonists
had succeeded, and remaining part of the United States. Despite this, there are still many similarities
between the naval tactics used by the Confederates in the Civil War and by the colonists in the
American Revolutionary War. Both the colonists and the confederates found themselves with a
serious lack of naval capabilities at the start and end of the wars. This is why both used the tactic

A Rhetorical Analysis Of Daniel Wellington s Loaded Magazine
Filip Tysander is the owner of Daniel Wellington, a Swedish watch company founded in
2011.Daniel Wellington watches are known for their elegance and timeless designs. Daniel
Wellington published an advertisement in the Loaded Magazine(UK). Loaded Magazine is a
men s lifestyle magazine that appeals to a broad male audience about men s fashion, and health.
In the advertisement there s a guy and a girl holding hands, wearing Daniel Wellington watches.
Both, the guy and the girl are wearing professional clothes. The leg posture of the guy is very
classy. The setting of the ad looks like a park or a quiet place. There are two wine glasses on the
bench on the girl s side. The intended audience of the magazine is people who like to wear
watches and people who like to look classy, and fashionable, which is also the intended audience
of the magazine. The Daniel Wellington advertisement uses the rhetorical device pathos, that desire
to look good, to convince people that by wearing their watches the consumer will look classy,
stylish, fashionable, attractive and professional. Daniel Wellington watches uses the emotion, that
desire to be fashionable, attractable, and classy by their watch advertisement to convince the

Mr. and Mrs. Tinning s eight year old daughter had passed away from acute meningitis. As a very

My Personal Teaching Style And My Student s Learning Styles
I thoroughly enjoyed the reading, Learning and Teaching Styles In Foreign and Second Language
Education by Richard M. Felder Eunice R. Henriques. I have related this reading selection to my
personal teaching/ learning style and my student s learning styles, but especially to one particular
student that I work with.
The students on my caseload have disabilities that range from the following: verbal, sensory,
auditory skills, and emotional and behavior disorders.
Most of my students have specific learning disabilities that relate to the basic psychological
processes that involve, understanding or using spoken or written language, which may contribute to
their ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell and to perform mathematical calculations.
One of my students, who I will refer to as, JV has a behavior disorder. It s important to note that
children with behavioral disorders do not necessarily have learning disabilities. JV is achieving
above grade level with his reading fluency, yet requires ongoing support with behavior issues. To
be specific, he is constantly making noises, will get out of his seat and roam about the room, lose
focus and begin talking about different things that interest him. It is very difficult for JV to
maintain focus for long unless a stimulating environment is provided.
I decided to reach JV by providing material that is of interest to him. Stories that relate to his
interest that he has selected are being used with instructional

Religious Allusions In Avatar
James Cameron s 2009 film, Avatar is a must watch. The film taps into many aspects of human life,
especially spirituality. Cameron has produced the film with many allusions to biblical times. The
planet of Pandora was portrayed as a very spiritual ground. It is that the monsters of the earth are
far more connected to a supreme being than humans, who are the actual monsters , ought to be to
our Savior. In Avatar, the militarists, led by Quaritch, are determined to retrieve a very useful
mineral from the planet of Pandora because the earth has already been eroded. They are trying by
all means possible to destroy the planet, but unknowingly cause destruction upon themselves. The
militarists open a world that would cause them harm. Meanwhile, Cameron unveils another
spiritual aspect where he included the Na Vi s relationship with Eywa, a spirit that is a part of

Adolescented Candle Hypothesis
Hypothesis: if I light the candles at the same time then the unscented candle will burn faster because
of its properties. Control Group: The control group is the unscented candle. Independent Variable:
The independent variable is the unscented candle and the scented candle (black cherry). Dependent
Variable: The dependent variable is the time (30 minutes)
Materials: The materials that are needed are a timer to know when 30 minutes is up and it s time to
blow the candles out. Also a lighter to light the candle so they can burn. A pen for writing the data

As can see it does vary and wouldn t have been able to do it without doing more than a couple of

According to the data it looks like unscented candles burn a little bit faster than scented candles but
they both pretty much burn at the same rate of speed. Also one reason why the unscented candle
burns quicker is because it s not as processed as the scented candles are with all the scents and
colors.

By the time Charlie woke a few hours later, she felt much better. With a yawn, she stretched,
opening her eyes. There in the chair, closest to her feet was the president looking much like she d

Licking her lips, Charlie sat up, keeping her blanket pulled up around her. How long have I been

A few hours, he replied leaning back in his chair, raking a hand through his already wild hair,

However, the reader soon realizes that this uncomplicated story illuminates much deeper
meanings. This seemingly mundane plot becomes symbolic and purposeful under the reader s
eyes. We see that it is about a woman trying to find her identity in terms of a problematic
relationship. Clarence Lindsay, a critic, says, Cat in the Rain is Ernest Hemingway s subtle
exploration of this American romantic quest for identity. This is true, as we see many times
throughout the story. Hemingway with his use of descriptive language shows the way the
American women long for her identity. When Hemingway writes, The American wife stood at the
window looking out. Outside right under their window a cat was crouched under one of the
dripping green tables. The cat was trying to make itself so compact that it would not be dripped
on. I m going down and get that kitty, the American wife said. Here we see that the cat represents
the women and her relationship with her husband. As we all know cats detest water. Here the water
represents everything that was destroying her and her relationship. Her trying to save the cat was
her trying to save herself and her relationship.

Brain Process Memory
The brain processes memory in three stages. Think of your brain like a computer. The first stage
is called encoding. The brain records usable information in your memory. The second stage is
storage. The brain uses that recordable information and stores it to be used later. The final stage is
retrieval. The brain the recovers that recordable information that was stored to use at a later date.
There are three types of memory: sensory, short term and long term. First, a split second memory
of sight, sound and other senses is sensory memory. Driving down the highway, I heard a car
speeding towards me. The car nearly side swiped me. I smelled the burnt rubber as it swerved to
miss me. I tried to quickly look at the license plate, but the car was driving fast. I caught a first
glimpse of the plate, but could not remember it. This is an example of sensory memory. Information
that is not retained is forgotten. The information that is retained is then stored in our short term
memory.
Second, short term memory remains in the brain for a short period of time, maybe 25 seconds
unless it is reiterated over and over again to be preserved longer in the ... Show more content on

Long term memory can be stored permanently. If you review material for an extended period and it
is significantly important to you, it can be forever left in the memory then also tough to recover.
Long term memory has two parts. The first is declarative memory which consists of periods,
details, etc. For instance, I was born in November. It is an actual detail which makes it
declarative memory. Declarative memory is also distributed in semantic and episodic memory.
Semantic memory is periods or information about the world. Episodic memory is memory of
occasions at a specific time, place or setting. An occasion in my life that I remember is the first
time I met my husband. The second is procedural memory. How to drive a car is an example of

Analysis Of Fahrenheit 451 By Ray Bradbury
Richard Bach once proclaimed, There are no mistakes. The events we bring upon ourselves, no
matter how unpleasant, are necessary in order to learn what we need to learn; whatever steps we
take, they re necessary to reach the places we ve chosen to go. This idea allegorizes in Fahrenheit
451 by Ray Bradbury in consequence to Guy Montag s profuse errors that prompt a new outlook on
life. Prior to this newfound consciousness, he was a compliant member of an apathetic society that
obliterates opposition through the restraint of books and, therefore, knowledge. Montag perpetrates
many mistakes of which incite death and destruction eliciting the profound realization that he is
living in a lethargic world and provokes the cognizance of tangible emotions. From these errors, he
obtains erudition permitting him to fathom the importance of expressing true feelings and to
enhance the understanding of his goals and ambitions. Following this path of devastation in order
to escape the void he has been living in, Montag endeavors to alter the desolation encompassing his
society through seeking the refuge of books. Death and destruction in the contemporary world are
integral in the implementation of change as well as the expansion of cognition to halt future
wreckage. In spite of the carnage Montag s course induces, this path remains justifiable in his
phlegmatic society exemplifying the idea that attaining knowledge from remorseful acts allows for
the effectuation of change as means of

How Architects Change The World
How Architects Change the World
To provide meaningful architecture is not to parody history, but to articulate it. Daniel Libeskind
Mankind has built structures since the beginning of time and every structure which has been built
throughout history has a story behind it. The reasons for building these structures are many and
varied. The main reason for building a structure is out of necessity. Buildings such as the aqueducts
of Rome, Windsor Castle of Medieval Europe, and the Golden Gate Bridge, were built out of
necessity. Another reason for building a structure is an artistic expression or to express a sentiment,
such as the Statue of Liberty, the Gateway Arch, or the Eiffel Tower

Without architects, none of us would be living in houses, none of us would have schools to go to,
and none of us would have bridges to cross water. One good example of a structure being built out
of necessity is the golden gate bridge.
The Golden Gate Bridge
The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco is a suspension bridge 4,200 feet long spanning the San
Francisco Bay. It opened in 1937 and was the longest suspension bridge in the world until 1964.
Joseph Strauss was the head engineer for the bridge, but it was ultimately designed by Leon
Moisseiff, who was also the championed designer of the Manhattan Bridge. The bridge cost over
35 million dollars and from it s opening through January 2014, over two billion vehicles have
crossed the bridge. The color of the Bridge is officially international orange picked by architect
Irving Morrow because it complements the natural scenery, and this orange makes this bridge one
of the most recognized bridge in the world.
In addition to being one of the most recognized bridge in the world, today the Golden Gate
Bridge is one of the most photographed and the most driven over bridge in the world. It s lasting
impact is not only it s usefulness but also the aesthetic appeal it adds to the California landscape
as well as an object of pride for Californians.

Cost Allocation
The purpose of cost allocation is to identify and correctly allocate costs associated with a job,
product, or service. The main uses of cost allocation are to facilitate decision making regarding
costs, justify prices charged for products and services, cost control, and for optimal utilization of
resources. There are several methods used for cost allocation, depending on the type of product or
service offer by the company.
Variable cost allocation includes only variable manufacturing costs, such as direct materials, direct
labor, and variable manufacturing overhead. Absorption cost allocation includes manufacturing
costs, including both variable and fixed overhead as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Step method of cost allocation, allocates costs between service departments in steps, starting
with the service department that provides the most service to the other service departments. After
this allocation takes place, the next step in the process allocates costs to the department that
provides the next most service. This keeps stepping down until all costs have been allocated
between service departments (Accounting For Management, 2012).
The Reciprocal method of allocating costs takes into account all activity between both
interdepartmental service departments and operational departments. For instance, the custodial
department services both the mail room and the manufacturing department. The cost of the portion
of custodial service provided to the mailroom would be allocated directly to the mailing
department, and cost of the portion of custodial service provided to the manufacturing department
would be allocated directly to the manufacturing department. Unlike the step method that only
allocates forward from the service departments providing the most service to those providing least,
the reciprocal method can work backward. At the same time costs of the custodial department are
being allocated to the mail room (because of the mail room being cleaned), the mail room will
allocate costs to the custodial department for the mail that needs to be picked up and delivered
there. Thus, reciprocal activity is

Alain De Botton Essay
When critically analyzing an academic work we must analyze not only the work, but the source
as well. Evaluating the source of the work not only gives better a foundation for the work itself
but also creates a validation and a measure of the level of integrity. This typically involves looking

Okonkwo s Anger In Things Fall Apart By Chinua Achebe
In the book Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe Okonkwo, the main character exhibits anger in
many ways. First, Okonkwo shows anger through abusing his family. Second, Okonkwo tried to
portray his manliness to his tribe but his anger made hi look disrespectful. Lastly, outside
influence caused Okonkwo the most anger. Overall, Okonkwo s anger got the better of him and
led to his death. Okonkwo shows his anger through heavy abuse of his family. Okonkwo
constantly beat his son, Nwoye, for being lazy (Achebe,13). Okonkwo was angered at Nwoye
for being lazy because it reminded him of his father who was also very languorous, which put a
bad name to his family. Okonkwo resented his father for being lazy and causing the rough start to
his life. Alo, Okonkwo would pummel his wife Ekwefi for simple things, one he even shot at her

The Negative Effects Of Downloading Music From The Music...
While few people may argue that downloading music from the internet should not be illegal,
many others realize that it is clearly an act of theft to steal the work of others. The amount of the
music being illegally downloaded has risen tremendously over the years causing music industries
worldwide to cripple and disappear. As many may say that downloading music illegally is not
harmful in any way, they are imperceptive to the fact that it is causing a large amount of
decreasing revenue. As Marielena Reyes states The immediate effects from online piracy can be
the sales drop from CD labels and signings with artists, which could then lead to the large sums of
money music industries claim to have lost. Downloading music does not have any negative effects
to music industryfinances, artists credibility, and earrings. Reyes claims music industries will

American War, but in that short amount of time the tax raised about $14.1 million (Jacobson, Raub,

In the early 20th century, after worldwide conflict cut into trade tariffs, Congress turned to another
revenue source: The Revenue Act of 1916. This Act introduced the income tax system used today
and also included an estate tax with similar features of today s system. Residents received an
exemption of $50,000 with tax rates starting at one percent and climbing to 10 percent on estates
over $5 million (Jacobson, Raub, Johnson, 2007). As the US entered World War I in 1917, estate
taxes were increased. Unlike the previous Acts, the Act of 1916 was not repealed after the war
ended, but instead the laws surrounding the estate tax framework shifted immensely over the next

At this point in history no provision for a marital deduction had been made and as a result,
residents of community property states were at an advantage over residents of common law states.
In community property states, marital estates were split in half to create a low overall tax burden.
It was not until 1948 that the estate tax code was amended to reduce these tax

70s Music Research Paper
In mid 1960s the 8 track tape was invented which was popular until the late 70s. During the 70s
the Cassette tape was introduced, which became popular very quickly. The 1980s saw a
revolution in music technology, which was a huge upgrade in the music industry. Personal
stereos enabled people to play music on cassette tapes and listen to it through headphones
wherever they went. Many people began listening to music while walking, travelling on public
transport or exercising. In the late 1980s, compact discs (CDs) began to replace vinyl records.
CDs were lighter and smaller than vinyl records and offered a much higher quality sound. Slide 2

Changes and Innovations in Japanese Literature in the...
There is a vast difference between the courtly airs of the Heian Period and the overall feeling of
the following Kamakura Period that makes the younger of the two periods more appealing. The
changes in Japanese literature during the Kamakura Period can be readily observed in many works,
including the innovation in poet devices found in the Shinkokinshu, as well as the subject matters
of different stories. We have the introduction of another ancient Japanese classic in Heike
Monogatari, where the reader is assaulted with battlefield stories and upfront political warfare not
seen to that extent before. A significant feature, if not the most significant feature, of the Kamakura
Periodis the increased presence of Buddhist teachings and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Perhaps this is a type of literary yuugen? Out of all three of the new poetic devices, the least
understandable to me is the taigendome, probably because I tended not to notice that ending a
poem on a noun was not typical for the earlier periods. Maybe it too conveys a new sense of
meaning to a poem, like the more obvious effects of the other two devices. Lastly, for the poetryof
the Shinkokinshu at least, the essence of sabi seeps in through the words of many poems,
stripping away the color and life from the somewhat clichГ© nature imagery and leaving behind
the beauty of the withered. Written works where the depressing weight of reality makes itself
known seems like a given at the time, and seeing that the Shinkokinshu is one of the earliest
works covered by the Kamakura timeline, it is only natural to see the trends for the rest of the
contemporary literature being introduced in it. Speaking of a hopeless reality, there is a change
from the type of imagery appearing in the prose of the Heian Period to that of the Kamakura
Period. We have the descriptions of an almost explicit nature in regards to death in all sorts of
situation. In the Hojoki by Kamo no Chomei, the whole first half focuses on death, poverty, and
destruction, especially in the episode of The Famine,

The Military Professional Identity Is Defined Differently...
As Midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy, we are in the developmental phase on our
way to become the future leaders defined as military professionals. The military professional
identity is defined differently by everyone. I believe for one to embody the military professional
identity, he or she has to be a leader of character and ready to defend the nation. The four years
spent at the Naval Academy gives you the opportunity to develop and mold your physical,
mental, and moral stature in order to embody the military professional identity that one desires
or believes is right. I believe that one s character is partially developed based on their core
values. I personally embody core values such as dependability, honesty, and commitment. There
are other core values that I would say are necessary in order to fit the identity as a military
professional, but those three values are the ones that define me as a future leader in the military. A
leader should be dependable at least. As a leader in the military, you constantly will have
subordinates who are facing trials and tribulations in which they will need a leader that they can
trust and depend on. That follows right into my next core value that is honesty. Being honest is the
only way to really earn someone s trust. An individual will only follow in an environment where he
or she knows that the one leading them is consistently honest. This environment would include a
leader that refrains from deception by lying or

The Tension between Argentina and Britian
Argentina and Britain have always had mild tension between them almost since the the
independence of Argentina, this main cause of tension has always been over the sovereignty of the
Falkland Islands.
Britain first claimed sovereignty of the Islands in 1765 alongside France around approximately the
same time, however France transferred it s settlements to Spain in 1767. Britain left their settlement
on the Island in 1774 but claimed they never relinquished sovereignty. Spain also abandoned their
settlement later in 1811. (BBC News , 2013)
In 1820 an Argentine merchant, Luis Vernet, tried to established commercial settlements on the
islands. These settlements were not officially claimed by Argentinauntil 1828, when Luis Vernet
submitted his proposal for official recognition of his commercial settlement on Malvinas to become
an Argentine colony. The Argentine government, shortly after receiving the proposal, declared their
claim to the islands. (Lorton, 2012)
In 1833 the first conflict between Britain and Argentina occurred in regards to the islands. Britain
had returned to islands to expel the Argentine garrison, the British removed the Argentine flag
flying on the island and sent it back with their men to the mainland with a message, the British had
found, a foreign flag in the territory of His Majesty. (Lorton, 2012, p.g 151). The Argentine settlers
on the Island were allowed to remain alsong as the accepted British rule, however most settlers left
gradually after.

Argumentative Essay On Vandalism
That is unbelievable, Beverly said, amazed.
Still shaking Steve removed a paper from his pocket and passed it around allowing his coworkers
to read the letter, now no one thought it was funny.
Looking at the time clock, Betty said, We better get to work, or we will need Santa to pay our bills.
+++
During the next several days, each evening Doug turned on the local TV, to see how Santa Claus
had granted more wishes for the boys and girls in Rockdale. Soon all the boys and girls were
writing letters to Santa telling him about their wishes, knowing he had granted many wishes and
hoping he would grant their wish.
Although, some of the children were not good all year and didn t get what they wanted, in fact, they
were quite unhappy with their gift from Santa. Their actions ensured that they would not get
anything the next year unless they improved. Getting angry and doing destructive deeds didn t help
fifteen year old Jeremiah and Harold, as they set out to prove Santa wasn t the one granting wishes.
Waking up early, Brian Wilson left for work, only to discover someone had let the air out of the
tires on his vehicle parked in the driveway.
Calling the police, Brian yelled, Someone let the damned air out of my tires, and I want to make a
report on vandalism.
Frustrated with the numerous calls about the same problem around the town, the dispatcher said,

Economic Factors
Business cycles have a wide reaching impact on the airline industry. During recession, airline is
considered a luxury amp; therefore spending on air travel is cut which leads to reduce prices.
During prosperity phase people indulge themselves in travel amp; prices increase.
After the September 11 incidents, the world economy plunged into global recession due to the
depressed sentiment of consumers. In India, even a company like Citibank was forced to cut costs
to increase profits for which even the top level managers were given first class railway tickets
instead of plane tickets.
The loss of income for airlines led to higher operational costs not only due to low demand but also
due to higher insurance costs, which increased after the WTC bombing. This prompted the industry
to lay off employees, which further fuelled the recession as spending decreased due to the rise in
unemployment.
Even the SARS outbreak in the Far East was a major cause for slump in the airline industry. Even
the Indian carriers like Air India was deeply affected as many flights were cancelled due to internal
(employee relations) as well as external problems, which has been discussed later.
Social Factors
The changing travel habits of people have very wide implications for the airline industry. In a
country like India, there are people from varied income groups. The airlines have to recognize these
individuals and should serve them accordingly. Air India

George W. Bush Intervention In Iraq
Ramesh Thakur is an assistant secretary general of the UN and he was also one of the authors of
the R2P. He stated that a state which, is intervening in other state with the use of force without UN
authorization is violating international law (Thakur, 2004). US employed the notion of
humanitarian intervention in the case of Iraq to justify the actions; however, US did not have the
support of international community to intervene in Iraq. In addition, there is a notion of
paternalistic belief put forth by Partha Chatterjee wherein, powerful nations feel that it is their
moral duty to protect weaker nations (Thakur, 2004). There were several reasons for George W.
Bush to intervene in Iraq that failed the test of an R2P type intervention. Bush wanted to take

The grievances emerged from 9/11 required to eradicate Saddam s regime due to the threat of
Saddam s connections with Osama bin Laden (Thakur, 2004). The geopolitical presence in the
region of US, oil, and fear of weapons of mass destructions were another reasons strongly
emerging that also contributed to militarily intervening in Iraq (Thakur, 2004). These were some
of the reasons that enabled US to consolidate their position to intervene in Iraq. However, it is
argued these are the true reasons that highlights the urgency of endorsing the language of R2P on
the grounds that US wants to protect Iraqi civilians from Saddam s cruel treatment. However, the
mains reasons of intervening in Iraq for US were for their own self interested power politics
which, are barriers from applying R2P s objective to protect human

Illness like meningitis are more serious and needs more attention. As a teacher or learning
support assistant, you will most time work closely with individual children. You will notice
when the child is not well, or may be incubating an illness. This can take place over a period of
days, weeks or months. Some of the signs you will notice are looking pale, had dark rings
around eyes, appears more tied, has lost their appetite, the child being quiet and looks flushed. It
is very important that you recognize the signs and symptoms. It is not your role to diagnose the
sickness. It is also not your duty to jump to conclusions. If a child display any of the signs and
symptoms of common illness the school will inform the child s parents so that they can take the
child home. Older child can describe how he or she feels. If working with younger children or with
children with learning disability, or communication difficulty, they may be unable to say or explain
their symptoms.
The length of time children must stay away from school very between the type of illness and the

can return home when sick. Some children illness such as measles and mumps must be notified to
the local authority. If meningitis is suspected immediate medical help should be given.

Out Of Body Art Analysis
The very first work of art that caught my eye was the 2015 Out of Body piece by a woman by
the name of Shinique Smith. Made with acrylic, ribbon, plastic bags, fabric and paper collage on
a wooden panel, the art was truly cool to look at. This particular art work was purchased from an
unknown source and placed in the Weatherspoon Museum in 2016. It portrays the edge that we
have in 2016 and fit very well in the Decade by Decade section of the museum. The idea of change
and difference being okay, is challenged in this work by incorporating many different things into
one board. The artist, Shinique Smith, was trying to portray the idea of childhood to adulthood,
adapting to change. Basically trying to fit in both the importance of being

Examples Of Foolishness In King Lear
In Shakespeare s King Lear the relationship between wisdom and foolishness is explored through
the characters Lear and Gloucester. Throughout the play, both characters were foolish based on
their decisions, and after losing everything they had, they came to see how inappropriately they
acted. Through this realization they gained wisdom by taking responsibility for their actions, and
by making amends with those they had let down. In this play, Shakespeare demonstrates how
gaining this insight can be difficult, heartbreaking, and often times one may end up with nothing
but a new found wisdom.
The beginning of these characters journey to insight must unfortunately start with foolishness. The
play starts with King Lear asking his 3 daughters how much they love him. Whoever loves him the
most will receive the biggest piece of land that he plans to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When Lear asks his youngest daughter, Cordelia the same question, she says, Unhappy that I
am, I cannot heave/ My heart into my mouth: I love your majesty/ According to my bond; no

not thinking about the sincerity of Cordelia s gesture or the genuine words she has spoken, is
only offended and enraged that she did not flatter his ego like her sisters. Lear disowns Cordelia
and decides to split his kingdom between selfish sisters Regan and Goneril. This decision is the
snowball that keeps on rolling; growing into a bigger and bigger mess throughout the story.
King Lear was idiotic in not analyzing the situation. He could not see that Cordelia was the only
daughter that truly loved him and that Regan and Goneril only loved what he had to give them.
Lear s second foolish decision was physically giving his land to Regan and Goneril. Since Lear
couldn t see how selfish his daughters were in their answers, he gave all his land and all his power
to them. Lear also had people bring to his

Corrupt Leaders In Beowulf
Leaders now and leaders way back in the day are they all corrupt. How are they viewed now and
how are they viewed during the time of beowulf. People may view a leader different during the
time of beowulf rather than a leader in today s time. Some people may think that all leaders are
corrupt and some may think that only certain leaders are corrupt. The portrayal of Hrothgar during
beowulfs time from the canots and how we today criticize leaders from the films and today.
Hrothgar is a very respected leader in Beowulf he leads with confidence and takes care of his

He would not take on his beast himself. Hrothgar asks for Beowulf to take on his beast. Hrothgar
was also not respected by his wife as he slept with another woman. Why are leaders looked at in
this way in this new day and age? Leaders are being looked at this way because people want a
juicy story or dirt on someone important. The people in are society today are always looking at
ways to leak information a bout a leader. Why people do this, people do this because they are not
the important person. If someone is not in the spotlight or the center of attention they are
jealous of the person with power. In turn they try to draw bad attention to the leader, to get them
booted out. Leaders today are criticized and portrayed many different ways with media. Like
Donald Trump he is looked at many different ways. Some people think he is a terrible person
who doesn t care about anything but his wall. Then there are the people who a big fans of Trump
and support what he does. With media they like to twist the story a bit to much. They want to

A Very OId Man with Enormous Wings contains a satire aimed at the Catholic Church and the
common people. The author criticizes the church through Father Gonzaga. He is not in a hurry to
discover the truth about the old man. Father Gonzaga tries to study the old man s dialect to see
whether it has any relation to Aramaic, the language of Jesus. The author wants to emphasize the
church wisdom.
The author also criticizes the common people who never seem to understand the greater
significance of life. In this story, there is a narrow vision that afflicts everyone from the wise
neighbor woman. Her judgment of the old man influences the villagers thought. The figure of the
Elisenda in this story also represents the characteristic of women who is more focused on keeping

  • 2. Essay On Mexican American War Today, the Mexican American War is still a widely argued topic of controversy with Mexico and America. But now, this hot topic of controversy can be put to rest. Was the U.S. justified in going to war with Mexico? The United States was justified in going to war with Mexico because Texas had been free and wanted to be annexed into the U.S., Mexicoattacked U.S troops, and Mexico let U.S citizens in. Before this whole war started, Mexico had won its independence from Spain in 1821., Shortly after in 1830, an American named Stephen Austin went to Texasfor a huge piece of land. He then brought 10,000 Anglos, or white people, into Texas because it was his end of the bargain. After that, the Mexican government put tighter control on Texas, and also enforced laws the Anglos in Texas did not believe were right. Just like the American Revolution, a rebellion started in 1833. In 1836, a Spanish fort that was turned into a base for the Texan rebellion, called the Alamo, was attacked. All of the Texan fighters were killed. That devastating loss somehow helped Texas to win the next war, and gain its independence. (Roden 269) Shortly after, Texas was annexed into the United Statesof... When word arrived on May 9, 1846 that Mexican troops had fired upon Americans on the Texas side of the Rio Grande, president Polk had a reason for going to war. (Roden 317) There were 63 U.S. officers who were camping on the north side of the Rio Grande watching to see if any Mexican troops were about to cross over to attack. Then, a way bigger army of Mexican troops attacked them.(Polk 325) Even JeЕ›us Velasco Marquez, a modern day journalist who wrote an article, why the U.S wasn t justified in going to war, admitted that Mexican troops attacked U.S. troops. • 4. How Did Tom Wolfe Criticize The Bauhaus The aftermath of the First World War brought forth an era of new technology, a movement that focused on serving the masses and produce art that focused on functionality rather than aesthetics. The Bauhaus was a school in Germany founded by Walter Gropius, who had ideals to bring a unification between arts and design. Students were taught to embrace new technology and create architecture that highlights its functionality. This minimalism approach became an integral part of what has become of modernismtoday. Although, this is not without its critics, American journalist Tom Wolfe, criticises Bauhausarchitects as creating unattractive architecture and that it is no longer art. Although the original institution does not operate anymore, its... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The style was born of inspiration toward Bauhaus and adopts the principle of purism and minimalism. Architects were becoming dissatisfied with the ongoing use of mixed decorative elements from different architectural periods that showed limited or no relation to the buildings function. Therefore architect Le Corbusier s presentation of using steel and glass in the Modern Architecture Exhibition of 1932 piqued interest in the architecture community. Using the teachings and principles he enforced using his Bauhaus years, Le Corbusier was able to expand his Bauhaus teaching to the American market in the form the International Style. A famous modernist work by Le Corbusier, the Villa Savoye, became the epitome of the international style. It emphasised that architects should be responsible for researching and solving the problem of between cost and function of a building. Due to the influence of Bauhaus, modern architecture became more beneficial and became an architecture design style that recorded the lowest prices at that time due to its simplicity, costing only twenty cents per square foot. The building not only maximises the money spent but also breaks traditional cliche design concepts at the time more specifically heavy foundations and narrow windows. The influence of Bauhaus spreads worldwide defining the international style and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Abortion Vs Pro Life Essay Introduction Abortion is a big social issue. Either being a Pro Life or a Pro Choice. Choosing a life or aborting the life of a baby. When the baby is inside the womb, the mother or family has the choice to either keep the baby or have an abortion. People need to know what all happens in an abortion, and if they are Pro Life or a Pro Choice person. Description The abortion issue is a case where the doctor terminates a pregnancy. Abortions are preformed normally before the third trimester. People around the world are in a jam. They are fighting about if being pro choice is right or if being pro life is right. The bigger issue here is the partial birth abortion (Gill, 2016). A partial birth abortion is when the doctor has the baby... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I am not the one that says that handicapped children should be aborted. No. I am the one that says it is wrong on all terms. The crazy thing is that there is at least 210,000,000 pregnancies a year, and 75,000,000 are abortions. Out of those abortions 21,600,000 of them are unsafe. Out of those unsafe abortions there have been about 8,500,000 mothers needed to have medical attention because they were either depressed, or very injured. 47,000 mothers have died in those abortions. To me that is just very depressing and sad. They say the babies can t feel anything. That s where they are very wrong. An unborn baby is able to feel pain at the earliest of 8 weeks, at 20 weeks the baby can feel more pain than the average human. Some abortions can be because of rape , no 99% of abortions have nothing to do with rape. The sad thing is that if you work out the numbers theres about 1.3 million abortions a year. 1.3 million divided by 365 days, comes out to 3,500 a day. 3,500 a day divided by 24 hours, comes out to 145 an hour. 145 divided by 1 hour(60 min), that sadly comes out to 2 per min. Coming from a Catholic background and growing up always knowing that abortion is a bad thing, I can make my own opinions on things and knowing all the facts and all the stats I can say for myself that abortion is ... • 6. Work Life Balance Is Dead By Isabel Rimanoczy Summary Ms. Isabel Rimanoczy made great points in this article. Though some may view her as a work body, she and I share a mutual understanding when it comes to work life balance. Ms. Rimanoczy is not buying the idea that there is some sort of balance between the two aspects of our lives. Work life balance is dead and it may be a good thing (Rimanoczy, 2015). I agree with her statement because if anyone takes the time to think about it, they will soon come to terms with the idea that it really becomes impossible to separate work and personal life. Some of us grow up with moral values, standards, and familytraditions carried on through religious beliefs. When we go to work we will bring along our character because our personal life defines us as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Taking a Look at Dementia Dementia is a broad term that encompasses a variety of different diseases and syndromes(The dementia timebomb, 2013). About 38 million in the united states and 820,000 in the United Kingdom are diagnosed with one of the over 100 types of dementia. It is also and aged related condition, so most people inflicted with it are older rather than younger. A person can have multiple forms of dementia or a disease such as alzheimer s diseases that involves dementia symptoms. Symptoms of dementia include: memory loss, disorientation, loss of motor skills, not being able to eat or drink, depression and even hallucinations. Most of these symptoms are caused due to a problem within the central nervous system, more specifically the brain. As the condition progresses so do the symptoms related to it. In the later stages of the condition, many patients have been noted to have vivid hallucinations that they believe to be real life events. They may not be able to recognize their own loved ones, but sometimes are able to recall back on old memories. In some patients they forget the time and place and even resort back to being a child again (Jenkins C McKay A, 2013). In many forms of dementia, The Frontal lobe and the temporal lobe of the brain has been damaged. The cells in these lobes are dying off slowly and connection is losted. This is due to the loss of neurons in both lobes of the brain. Scary tissues develops in these parts of the brain also. Many of the surviving cells tend to have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Amanda Knox Essay 9 October 2012 The muder of Meredith Kercher was covered very differently from beginning to end. Media bias was present on both sides of guilty and not guilty. The story was hard to keep straight as information was either left out or presented falsely. News articles presented soon after a story, is useful for awareness of the issue; however, exact details are generally not presented fairly or true fully. An article written in 2007 was one of the first published after the murder of Meredith Kercher. Amanda who is the prime suspect, changed her story over and over again during the first few weeks following the murder. Her first story was that neither she nor her boyfriend, Rafaelle, were present at the apartment during the murder. She says they were at Rafaelles smoking pot and having sex ( Murphy Denis). Just five days later her story changed again. She claimed she was present at their apartment as well as Lumamna, who she claimed killed Meredith. However, during her court trial, she confessed that Lumumna was never present and that she made the confession up. Her final confession came back to the first: that she was never at the apartment the night of November 1, and that she didn t remember much of the night because of the weed. Another thing covered in Denis Murphy s, NBC news article was hat Amanda claimed to have returned on the morning of November 2nd and saw traces of a break in, blood on the carpet, but was not alarmed. Amanda then showered and returned to Ralealles houses. They both returned to the apartment around 12:30pm when the police showed up and broke down Meredith s door to find the gruesome murder scene. Murphy, an NBC news journalist, did a great job of collecting quotes from both sides of Amanda s personality. According to the American College of Medical Quality, medical necessity is defined as accepted health care services and supplies provided by health care entities, appropriate to the evaluation and treatment of a disease, condition, illness or injury and consistent with the applicable standard of care. This ensures that doctors conduct the proper and necessary actions to ensure the safety and care of a patient. Besides doing the right thing, doctors are held accountable for the welfare a proper decisions of care for their patients. For medical necessity, a doctor must acknowledge that the care required for any treatment is necessary for the health of the patient. Above all, medical necessity is reason for the treatment or care. As an example, for a general urinalysis, the coder must input the code of 81000 for male or female patients. The mistake that could be made is if the coder input 81025 for a specific urinalysis for a pregnancy test. Compare Coca-Cola And Pepsi s Website There are a lot of soda companies out there, even though not all of them are similar, especially their marketing strategies and how they give use of their websites. A couple of the mainstream companies are Coca Cola and Pepsi. While some people will make a very strong case that they are very different in taste, this is especially true with their websites and the way they show themselves. Let s compare the Coca Cola s website with Pepsi s website, the biggest difference is the color. Coca Cola uses red as their predominant color and Pepsi uses blue. The first thing a guest will notice on Coca Cola s website is that the way the links are set up is extremely disorganized. They can make it look more professional, if they stop re directing their links to different websites. For example, if someone were to click on Coke in The USA tab on the homepage, and decide to click on any of the links in the drop down menu, then the guest will quickly realize that a new tab opened up on their web browser, and that they are now on a different website. Some would like to believe that the U.S has the best health care system in the world, but unfortunately that may not be the truth. In 2000 The World Health Organization (WHO) released a world health report. The report ranked the overall health system performance of 191 countries; the United States was ranked at 37 out of the 191. With out of control costs, highly inequitable coverage and comparatively low health outcomes, the US healthcare system has failed to provide efficient, dependable coverage for the population as a whole as compared to most European and developed Asian systems (Blank, 2012). On March 23, 2010 congress approved and President Obama signed The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) into law. The PPACA is more commonly known as just the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or negatively as Obamacare. In order for the ACA to be passed, the President had to appease the different political parties. As a result, the ACA is not entirely an original idea. Some of the main provisions already had the support of various political parties, because they had been introduced by past presidents and political parties in their health reform plans over the past few decades. Some examples include: both Nixon and Carter had employer mandates; Bush had a version of the individual mandate, both Bush and Clinton proposed similar ideas to the insurance marketplace, among a few others. The ACA is similar to universal health care; the objective is to ensure that the US citizens have access to affordable quality healthcare, instead of a free market for all like in other countries it is still for profit. The Affordable Care Act increases access to care, makes health insurance more affordable, strengthens Medicare and ensures that Americans have more rights and protections (U.S. Department of ... Ditto for Amazon, Facebook, something called Berkshire Hathaway, and shares in, what was then, a small retailer based in Arkansas Walmart. We do not have hindsight. We can not guarantee success in everything we do. If the Iraq Waronly lasted 100 days, we would not have argued about whether there were weapons of mass destruction. It did not, on both counts. The Step method of cost allocation, allocates costs between service departments in steps, starting with the service department that provides the most service to the other service departments. After this allocation takes place, the next step in the process allocates costs to the department that provides the next most service. This keeps stepping down until all costs have been allocated between service departments (Accounting For Management, 2012). The Reciprocal method of allocating costs takes into account all activity between both interdepartmental service departments and operational departments. For instance, the custodial department services both the mail room and the manufacturing department. The cost of the portion of custodial service provided to the mailroom would be allocated directly to the mailing department, and cost of the portion of custodial service provided to the manufacturing department would be allocated directly to the manufacturing department. Unlike the step method that only allocates forward from the service departments providing the most service to those providing least, the reciprocal method can work backward. At the same time costs of the custodial department are being allocated to the mail room (because of the mail room being cleaned), the mail room will allocate costs to the custodial department for the mail that needs to be picked up and delivered there. Thus, reciprocal activity is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The War Revenue Act of 1898 was repealed in 1903, one year after the end of the Spanish American War, but in that short amount of time the tax raised about $14.1 million (Jacobson, Raub, Johnson, 2007). In the early 20th century, after worldwide conflict cut into trade tariffs, Congress turned to another revenue source: The Revenue Act of 1916. This Act introduced the income tax system used today and also included an estate tax with similar features of today s system. Residents received an exemption of $50,000 with tax rates starting at one percent and climbing to 10 percent on estates over $5 million (Jacobson, Raub, Johnson, 2007). The four years spent at the Naval Academy gives you the opportunity to develop and mold your physical, mental, and moral stature in order to embody the military professional identity that one desires or believes is right. There are other core values that I would say are necessary in order to fit the identity as a military professional, but those three values are the ones that define me as a future leader in the military. A leader should be dependable at least. As a leader in the military, you constantly will have subordinates who are facing trials and tribulations in which they will need a leader that they can trust and depend on.
