2.What does the distributor do?
The distributor delivers an audience to each individual
film. He/she has to try and show the film in different
ways. They need to promote the film,advertise , sell the
film and get it seen by as many people as they can.
They should market the movie to the best of their ability.
3.How do major studios distribute and smaller
distributors differ?
Smaller distributors need to go find their own films and
big distributes will be given the films.

They go to festivals to find films , as they are smaller
companies and are independent.
5. What does USP stand for? What could the USP of a film
be?
USP stands for Unique selling point . The USP is to find the
hook of a film , The USP of the film could be the the genre of
the film , cast , director etc.. What genre of the film is it ?
,who they think will want to see the film (target audience) and
who is the movie going to appeal to?

The release date is important to find the best time to release
the film , advertising , promoting , school holidays for younger
audiences would be the best time. Big movies normally have a
release date in mind , find out what other films are about to
release that is similar to yours.
7. What research do distributors have to carry out?
They have to Carefully select groups of people that represent
the film, poster ideas , trailers , and make sure the film meets
people’s expectations. They should listen to the audience and
recommend to a distributor , have a target audience. The
research audience is found by a distributor and they are asked
what other movies they like and what they thought of the
movie they have just watched.
4. 8. What is the marketing budget spent on? What 3 areas can
the distributor focus on?
The market budget is spent by looking at the movie , sitting
down as a team and setting an appropriate budget , stretch
your marketing budget as far as you can go , how much it will
make at the box office , how they are going to sell there film
(opportunities).
Advertising – straight forward Media , advertising (allow cost
for producing adverts , Tv ads , radio , newspapers) big Tv
actors.
Where the audience may see this advertising, how to
communicate in the most affective way?
Promotion – getting people to promote your film.
promoting it yourself , making it big , attracting the audience.
Premier – Getting the audience ready for the film , e.g trailers
