- 1. Part 4 – Evaluation of the finished product When asking the target audience whether they thought my magazine looked professional or not, I sat them down and asked them questions about what they thought. I asked five different girls aged between 13 – 17 years. When I asked them what stood out the most to them on the front cover they said that the cover star and colours first caught their attention. I then asked them what they thought looked the best on my contents page, and most of the audience said that the colours attracted them the most. I then asked them what they thought about my double page spread 1 and they said that the layout is the best thing which caught their eye, and on the double page spread 2 they said the picture of the cover star first caught their attention. I then asked them if they thought I could do any improvements. They said that I could have added more pictures to the contents page. Also on my front cover I could improve my picture of the cover star because you can see where I have tried adding black around the eyes to make them stand out more. This is something that I noticed too and would like to change if I had another chance on this coursework. I asked the teenage girls what they thought of my colour scheme, the answers they said was that it stands out a lot to them and the colours I used are nice colours and that it attracts them to buying the magazine. This can be confirmed because when I asked my first question what stood out to them the most, they all said the colours was the first thing that caught their eyes. The thing which I think I could improve is by making the pictures which I cut out look smoother around the edges. This stood out to me the most and made me want to change this problem if I had the chance to do it again. The thing I am most pleased with is my front cover, as I think this looks quite professional, with all the images and texts in the right place. The fonts also make it look more competitive as I think it helps to make my magazine stand out. The thing I am most pleased with on my front cover is the cover star and the pictures around it, which shows a convention of a magazine, which is the rule of three. On my contents page I think the layout looks quite professional and therefore could be a competitor in the shops.
