How did you
attract/address your
audience?
I produced a questionnaire to help me answer how I attracted my
audience. I handed these questionnaires out to people in the age
group my magazine is aimed at to see their opinions on what attracts
them to my magazine.

my questionnaire

Do you like what the artists
are wearing?
To attract my audience I chose clothes that my target audience would like
such as crop tops, skirts and heels.
5/7 people that filled out my survey, said that they did like the clothes. The
person that said she did not like the clothes was not part of my target group
as she is not interested in mainstream music or popular clothes. The person
that said they wasn’t sure about whether they liked the clothes was a boy
and in this issue there was only girls clothes. Overall I think I did well
attracting my target audience with the use of popular clothes.
My colour scheme
To attract my audience I tried to use a colour scheme that
they would find appealing. I was going to use pink but this
is not a colour that boys would like so I changed it to
purple. I think this worked as one boy in my questionnaire
said he liked the purple so it attracted him. Also to try and
make it look less childlike I used some black and kept with
the colour scheme.
Nobody that filled out my questionnaire said that they
didn’t like the colour scheme of my magazine. One person
said that it was okay and could be better if in another
issue it was less girly. Apart from that everyone said that
they liked it.
3/7 people said that they liked it because the colours
didn’t look too childish together.
4/7 people also said that the colours went well together.
So I think my colour scheme did well to attract my target
audience.

Does my magazine look professional?
Yes
Could be improved
To attract my audience I tried to make my magazine look as realistic as
possible. To do this I followed conventions closely and used Photoshop to edit
it as real magazines are edited a lot.
All apart from one said that my magazine looked professional. Nobody said
that it didn’t look professional but one person said that it could be improved a
bit to look even more professional. From these results I think I did manage to
attract the audience with my magazine looking realistic.
Age
To see if I was successfully attracting the right audience I asked
them what age they thought my product is aimed at.
The youngest age any one said was 15 and the eldest was early
20s. These results support that the choices I made for my
product where successful in attracting the right age such as the
style of my magazine, the colour scheme, the layout etc. did
actually attract the age group I planned on. One person did say
that my product could attract people in their early 20s because
the artists featured in my magazine are popular with people up
to this age and maybe even higher.
Gender
Another question I asked in order to know if I had
attracted the correct audience is whether they think
the magazine is aimed at boys or girls.

What gender do you think
this magazine is aimed at
My product was aimed mainly at females but I was trying to
attract some males by making the colourscheme less girly than
pink would have made it. 6/7 people said they thought it was
mainly aimed at girls and one person, who is a boy themselves,
said it could be for both as males are also interested in the

Over all I think my product did attract my audience well. 3/7 said they
would purchase my magazine, and 3/7 said they might. So 6/7 people
could possible buy my ,magazine and the 1 person that definitely
wouldn’t is not part of my target audience so it is okay that she wouldn’t
buy it.
