Media technologies played a huge role in the student's media studies coursework, allowing them to display videos, sounds, images, and text together professionally on their blog. Internet research using sites like YouTube helped with targeting the right audience and ensuring success for their advertising campaign. Different technologies like Windows Movie Maker, web design sites, and Microsoft Publisher were used to plan, produce, and edit videos and other materials for their advertisement.
2. Media technologies have played a huge part throughout the course
of my A2 media studies coursework. For example, creating this blog
'Blogger.com' has given me the freedom to display and manage all
of my work, where it can all be easily viewed in one place. Videos,
sound and images can all be displayed effortlessly alongside text, to
give my coursework a professional look.
My research has mainly relied on media technologies throughout the
course of my advertising campaign, from basic internet use, to
websites such as 'YouTube'. Numerous Internet research was
conducted to ensure my product was being targeted at the right
audience and most importantly, to ensure my final product is
deemed a success. Codes and conventions, market research, cost,
audience and theories were all researched from Internet use.
Another main Internet use that helped me immensely was the use of
‘YouTube’ this is where I researched and analysed certain types of
adverts and more specifically perfume adverts and how I came up
with an idea and followed through the process to what I have
created now.
3. Different media technologies were used to help me plan for the
production of my advertisement. Once I decided to implement slow
and fast motion footage into my advertisement, I knew I needed to
be able to know and understand the basic setting on an editing
system to be able to work my advert. However, for the shooting I
used a JVC hard system camera, this was my own camera so I did
know the basic on how to work it. I tried out in various shot such as
long shots and close ups and decided it would be the best camera
to use as I felt comfortable with the usage of the camera. For my
overall editing i For my sponsorship sequence and the editing of
my 2 adverts were done on ‘Windows live movie maker’ which was
a good and efficient way to use for my editing and this made the
experience of editing all the more better. Windows live movie maker
was clear and concise in its instructions and buttons so it was clear
to use. For the making of the web page pop up I used a site called
‘webstarts’ and ‘widgetsu’ this enabled me to use the correct
information and be able to create my web page pop up exactly how
I wanted it to be.
4. For making the magazine advert I used Microsoft publisher where I
was free to use and be creative with what I wanted to create. I was
looking for a professional and sophisticated look so I went for a
light brown back ground and then bright pink title and writing, I used
pink because it relates to a girly theme which is what I was opting
to look into. For some posts on my blog especially on my
evaluation I used slide share by creating a power point and
uploading it, this is somewhere that anyone can comment or
download my presentation.
For my evaluation I used media technologies on the internet. I used
a website called slide share which entailed me to create a power
point in word and then upload it onto slide share where then I
uploaded it to by blog by embedding the code onto a HTML
document in my blog settings.
Overall I agree that without the use of media technologies, our
product would not be up to the same professional standard as it is
today.
