1. Evaluation Q6
What have you learnt about technologies from the
process of constructing this product?
2. Research
Whilst creating my music magazine, I have learnt a
variety of new skills. To start with, I used different
programs such as Blogger, Prezi and Slideshare to
research different music magazines to gain
inspiration for my product. Without the use of these
my research would not have been as useful or
informative. I learned how to use Blogger in
different ways, such as uploading pictures or
Slideshares using the HTML coding.
3. Production
When producing my magazine, I used Adobe
Photoshop to not only edit my images, but create
the pages. I have learnt a lot of Photoshop skills,
such as cutting and outlining photos, using layers to
create new pictures, changing the colour and
contrast of photos, and using different fonts to
create different effects.
4. Photographing
To take the photos for my magazine, I used a Canon
EOS 1000D. I learnt about the different lenses and
settings, as well as making use of the different angles,
focal lengths and lighting to make sure I took the best
possible photo. I also used Adobe Bridge to create a
contact sheet to look and compare all of my photos.
5. Feedback
After creating my magazine pages, I used various
social networking sites to gain audience
feedback. I then used programs such as Prezi and
Slideshare to show how I constructed my
magazine pages.
6. Other skills gained
As well as these specific programs, I also learned
other skills such as converting PSD files to JPG,
making and uploading charts to my blog,
embedding presentations and using the modern
technology of my phone to record audience
feedback.
7. In conclusion, all of these technologies were
extremely helpful in creating a successful media
product. Due to new media technology it was
much more efficient to create a professional
product, in the way that it was easy to create and
make changes to my magazine, gain feedback,
and present it on my blog.
