4. Blender is one of the magazines I have studied during the course of my project. It is an American music magazine. Blender Magazine is published by ‘Dennis Publishing’. The magazine started in the year of 1994. It’s statement was that the magazine was the ‘ultimate guide to music and more’

7. Although Maxim is known for featuring images of popular singers, actresses est. It is also known for these images to be ‘scantly’ dressed. It also features actresses and models, and articles that support these features; it does not just focus on music. The images this magazine is known for is not the style I wanted to adapt upon my own and I wanted my magazine to focus on one genre of music.
8. The style of both Blender and Maxim are very similar. Both magazines would not be aimed at the target audience I was aiming at. This an example of a media institution that distributes media forms, but it is not suitable for my own magazine, and would not be likely to distribute it themselves because of this reason. Both do not focus on one genre of music.

12. These artists, that have been used as the main image and feature of this magazine, are classed as indie pop artists. These artists and more from this genre are commonly featured within the magazine This shows that the publishing company ‘IPC MEDIA’ distributes magazines that are similar to my own and would therefore be a suitable company to distribute my music magazine.
13. The main image is of the music artist Florence, from ‘Florence and the Machine’. This artist is one associated with the indie pop genre.
