How did you attract/address
your audience?
Evaluation Question 6
The magazine addresses its audience
by having such a large masthead at the
top, readers of the magazine will be
able to easily spot it out in the piles of
magazines being displayed in a
magazine stand.

The audience I am trying to appeal to
are between the ages of 14-27. I have
used a wide variety of fonts on the
front cover in order to make the
magazine look more youthful. The
feature stories are in bold boxes,
making them easier to read and to
make them stand out, this appeals to a
much younger audience. The ‘musician’
on the front cover is posing in a
rebellious way, he does this by crossing
his arms, this also appeals to a younger
audience. The photo of the artist also
attracts fans of his, the photo is very
clear and takes up a lot of the page so
that it is more noticeable to his fans
The language I have used on my
magazine is informal, this attracts my
audience as it is more relatable to
them, as if being talked to by a friend…
not a teacher. This means they are
more able to read and want to buy it.

The contents of the magazine are very
mainstream… it talks about what the
big things happening in music are as
well as pop, so knowing that reggae
makes it in to the top 40, makes them
feel like it is a popular thing that they
would be interested in.

On the contents page I have a think
bubble on the artist with his thought
on himself… This is quirky, weird and
attracts to a youthful audience who
may find this funny.
