Our media product uses and challenges conventions of real album covers. The front cover of our digi-pak is intentionally minimalist, resembling the popular indie music style and taking inspiration from the band alt-j. Though lacking an actual band photo, the minimalist design communicates a stronger image for our new band, avoiding a cheesy portrayal and leaving room for audience interpretation, reflecting the band's style of breaking norms.

On the left we have the
front cover to our digi-pak.
It was designed with the
intention to create a front
cover that portrays the
‘work in progress’ style of
the band. It is very
minimalist and this was
taken as inspiration from
the ‘alt-j’ album cover from
‘an awesome wave’.
Minimalism in music is a very popular route at the moment
for indie bands. We feel that our band would create
something like this even though they are very new to the
industry. Despite not having an actual photo of the band we
feel this communicates a stronger image for the band, it
doesn’t paint them as a cheesy boy band or anything. It also
leaves room for the audience’s interpretation and that is what
they stand for as a band, breaking barriers and norms.
