Question 6.
What have you learnt about new
technologies from the process of
   constructing this product?
During the process of creating my music magazine and
using complicated programmes on the computer to do
so, I realised that further planning was required
beforehand and more practice on things like Photoshop
but especially Quark which I had rarely touched upon
before, besides having a single preparation lesson. If I
was to produce a magazine again, I would plan further
and have more practice on programmes to ensure that I
could make my magazine a lot more impressive by being
further experienced.
Despite learning of camera shots and how to use the
cameras previous to actually taking our pictures, mine
appeared to be blurry and of bad quality, this was again
learning I should have expanded on earlier. This
consumed more time than I imagined and so I would
have increased the quality and variety of camera shots I
took to avoid wasting time. This problem occurred I
found due to the type of camera I used and so I realised
a different camera was much better and produced
better pictures. I used this camera for the gig featured
on my double page spread and found the pictures came
out well.
I found that when comparing my music magazine to
my preliminary exercise of a school magazine, there
is a huge improvement. When looking at my
preliminary exercise it is notable that is consists of
clashing colours and pictures of not very good
quality. I also found however, that my preliminary
exercise was a good introduction into ‘Quark’ on
which I produced my contents page and double
page spread.
I gained a range of skills on
Photoshop, surrounding editing and
arranging and found that ‘Quark’ had such
useful tools for article writing and
arranging also.
