Completing this individual project has allowed me to fully explore and experiment with these technologies, rather than just gaining a basic understanding during previous paired work. - 1. QUESTION 6 What have I learnt about technologies from the process of constructing the product?
- 2. This process of creating my magazine I learnt to use software’s such as InDesign and I was able to expand my Photoshop skills as I already had an idea of how to use it. I also got to expand my skills on using a SLR camera and learning how to use it in the photo studio with the equipment's used to give the image more brightness and flash. Even tough I have a SLR camera at home I was able to learn more about settings used to make the image better quality and value.
- 3. My first time using InDesign was when making a rough idea of how a DPS would work and what tools I would need to make it look professional. Afterwards I had to try using InDesign again when making my college magazine. It was good to practice using InDesign as I was learning to use new software and I started getting use to how it worked since I was a quick learner I started to get more use out of InDesign. I started making pull quotes, which made the DPS look more professional than it was at the beginning. I felt more confident every time I used InDesign. This gave me great understanding to see how media industries make the magazine look so professional.
- 4. Photoshop was software I was already confident when using as I use it with my other course so when I was constructing my music magazine I already knew how to edit photos correctly. Adding new layouts or even texts were parts I was already comfortable with when making this magazine which gave me an advantage to spend more time on things I needed to get done such as find models for photo shoot and bogging extra work. I also got taught other programs such as Prezi and survey monkey, which was very enjoyable while working. These were programs I have never used before which gave me an insight of other ways of presenting my work to an audience.
- 5. When it came to the studio work I found it very enjoyable and fun because it seemed less like work and more like a session to be imaginative. I had already had skills when coming to SLR cameras however; I still had to learn the equipment in the studio such as the backdrop and the lights in the studio. The studio was very easy to get use to after learning most equipment so I didn’t really feel, as it was a hard challenge. So in the studio I had to make sure I was holding it right and taking the pictures correctly in order for my picture to come out looking professional and good quality.
- 6. Overall, I feel very confident using the technology that was given to create the magazine. I feel that in the future I will be able to be more comfortable and confident when coming to make something media based
