Luke Brierley learned how to use multiple media technologies like SLR cameras, Photoshop, and Quark Express through his coursework. He learned how to properly focus a camera and use different camera settings. In Photoshop, he learned to use various effects and it was his first time using the software. Quark was also new to him but he learned it has helpful guidelines for magazine layout. Most importantly, he learned how to properly construct a magazine for a specific audience by researching genres during his coursework.

2.  I think I have learnt to use multiple different media technologies such as how to use SLR
cameras, Photoshop and Quark Express.
 In terms of cameras, I learnt over time how to focus properly and to use the different
settings available. The main thing I learnt was how to focus properly, as it took me the
whole of the coursework to get it right, retaking photos multiple times.
 In Photoshop, I learnt to use all of the effects available on there. My preliminary task was
the first time I had ever used Photoshop, so everything I know how to do on it now, I
have learnt in the progression from the preliminary to the final product.
 Quark was also completely new to me when I started the coursework, however a lot of
the tools available on Quark are available on other software. The feature that helped me
the most on Quark is that it really helps you to lay out your magazine with all the
guidelines that you can adjust, which gives it an advantage over programmes such as
Publisher.
 The most important thing I learned however, was how to properly construct a magazine
that adheres to a specific audience and genre. Prior to creating my final product I had
never red magazines, so had no clue how to create one of even a decent quality. Proper
research during my coursework influenced my designs and helped me to understand
how to create a music magazine.
