Who would be the audience
for your media product?
Evaluation Question 4
What ageand
genderarewe
going tobe
targeting out
media product?
For our media production we are going to be targeting
both female and males from the ages of 16-30. We wanted
to make sure that we have a large target audience to
make the most amount of money.
The way we feel we have targeted our audience is that we
have had two main characters – a male and female who
both end up working together. We wanted to make sure
that we had an equal opportunity for both genders to be
in the film. In our opening the female character was only
really shown at the end, however later on in the film it is
planned that she would be shown a lot more.
OtherFilmsthat
haveinspired
us?
One of the biggest films that inspired us is identity thief.
We loved the idea that a woman had stolen the credit
card details of a male using a phone. We wanted to adapt
this idea by using a hacker – as hacking has been in the
news recently and would be on everyone's mind. This is
why we thought it would be funny to use a female hacker
to steal money from a business man.
We had also taken inspiration from TV shows such as Mr
Robot – which is a hacking TV show. We loved the idea of
hackers and thought it would be the best thing to
incorporate in our film.
OurPlanning
To know how to target our audience correctly we needed
to make sure that we could get as big of an audience as
possible. To best predict the figures to our film we had
looked at similar films and compared their results.
Our group had conducted as much research as possible to
make sure that the film was the best we could make it.
We made sure that we had enough information about
everything before we decided to fully make our opening.
