2. The effects of audience feedback
Positives
– Helps us determine our target
audience
– Helps us understand the codes and
conventions more
– Confirms audience understanding of
our finished products
– Depending on how you receive the
audience feedback, the audience
might be more likely to answer the
questions if its interactive and fun
Negatives
– Might not be truthful
– As it its done anonymously people
could be writing more than one
answer
– Could mean you end up wasting
time, if its not the answer you
wanted
– People might not answer the
questions as best as they can, or give
very simple answers, which wont
help you further down the line.
4. Here is our
questionnaire
on our first
draft music
video!
The results from this questionnaire
revealed that our music video was
too close to the original music video
‘TEENAGE DIRTBAG’ by Wheatus,
which is why we changed it to
Locked Away by R.City, without the
audience feedback that we received,
we wouldn't’t of been able to draw
in as many viewers and could even
be caught for copyright.
6. Continued #Slide5
– The results of the questionnaire are on the bottom, this shows how important audience feedback is
and how it can affect the decisions that you make. We analysed the Iggy Azealia music video that one
of the participants mentioned and looked at ways we could change it e.g. by looking at the use of
costumes and using a house rather than a bank to rob (which Bonnie and Clyde were known for)
7. Where did we
upload our
video?
We had uploaded our video on
multiple sites including, YouTube,
Blogger and Facebook Messenger,
one of the comments received on
our video was ‘Aww actually love
that’ on Facebook Messenger.
Using sites such as social networks
means we can access more people
and receive more feedback.
8. Finding your
audience
On sites such as blogger you’re able
to see where your audience is from,
the same with YouTube. YouTube
offers a analytics tab so you’re able
to see all relevant information on
your audience, ranging from the
gender, location, and where they
watch your music video. This is
relevant into finding information on
your target audience.
9. What have I learned from target
audience?
– As we have uploaded our music video onto multiple sites and asked students of
our target audience to fill out questionnaires I have learned that depending on
where we would want to advertise our music video, will depend on where most
of our target audience is. For us, its obvious due to the statistics that have been
provided to us, that the main location for our target audience is the UK. Our
music video is also mainly viewed on external sites such as Blogger and how
long people would usually watch our video for, which according to YouTube is
2:32.
– Knowing how long people on average watch videos like this for also mean that
we know how long we would want our music video to be.
