Evaluation Question 2: How effective
is the combination of your main task
and ancillary tasks?

Assignment Brief
For our coursework, we had to create a short
film or documentary of a genre of our choice.
My group decided to create a five minute
action adventure film. Our task was then to
each produce individual posters and film
reviews connecting with our film.
What was the purpose of the ancillary
tasks?
Our posters and films reviews were simply
meant to persuade our target audience to
watch our film. It was meant to appeal to our
audience and help them to make a link
between the ancillaries and our final
production.
Photoshop
Both my poster and film review were
produced on Photoshop. This was because
Photoshop allows me to create professional
looking work so they appeal to my target
audience so they would be interested in our
film. Photoshop allowed me to create a
posters and film review that would look
appealing to everyone, not only my target
audience, and bring different people in to
watch the film.
My Poster
I made a few drafts of my poster before I
produced my final one. My two drafts helped
me gain feedback on what to improve on and
how to improve it to fit the genre of my film.
Without these improvements, I don’t think
the genre would be as clear as it is now
meaning my target audience would have been
guessing about it.
My Film Review
I got the inspiration for film review from a
similar I saw in Empire magazine. I thought it
would be a good idea to take inspiration from
it as it holds all the conventions you would see
in a review for an action film.
