2. WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT THE
TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF
CONSTRUCTIING THIS PRODUCT?
3. During the production process of my final
production, I used a wide range of technologies
and software to reach the outcome to this
project. Over the course of this process, I have
learnt a number of new techniques and applied
these to make improvements to my magazine.
Along the way, I referred to my blog on a regular
basis and made several posts which included the
use of several different technologies, as well as
the use of a computer to complete all of this
work.
4. LUMIX LX7
The camera was used for photography in taking pictures for my main
production of my magazine. It was very helpful because the quality of
picture was much that using a phone because there were several
settings that could be changed to produced a better outcome. It being
digital meant with each picture taken it could be displayed on the
screen and I could see which areas needed to change, weather that be
lighting, etc. With a large SD card allowing a large memory, I could
store the pictures on the camera for the time being until a decision
was made with which images I wanted to used in the production. I
learnt a vast amount about the use of this camera in particular, step-
by-step explanation on different functions of the camera. The merging
different technologies enhanced my knowledge as well as the
5. THE INTERNET
The internet was used for a large proportion of my research, as well
as the use of feedback from my focus group. I searched about codes
and conventions of music magazine though finding examples of
other magazines on google images, which helped in the
construction of my own final production. I could also find tutorials
on YouTube and other blogging websites about features of my
camera that u had yet to discover. The internet was one of the most
helpful technologies I used for this project.
6. ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS3
By using this programme, I was able to make adjustments and
manipulate my images taken for my final production in many
different ways. I was able to change the levels of saturation and tone
as well as add text, create shapes, and cut around my images. Some
of these processes were very basic and I knew beforehand, but for
the things I didn’t, I was able to use the internet to find tutorials to
learn these new techniques.
7. MICROSOFT POWERPOINT
PowerPoint was used during the research stages to piece together
the codes and conventions of other music magazines using caption
and following a very clear format. It was posted on my blog to make
it easily accessible. The use of colour will engage people also
looking at my presentation.
8. CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the use of the different technologies helped the
production of my magazine a huge amount, that being the cover
page, contents page and the double-page spread. If it wasn’t for
the use of all those mentioned, then the final outcome would be
significantly less professional and be of a lower quality in
presentation. However my project includes a large sum of research
and preparation which is clear and accessible which without these
technologies would not be understandable and would show no
evidence of research beforehand. Despite what little knowledge I
had of using these, I was able to learn a great deal which could be
used again in the future.
