2. When making my magazine cover and contents I had to make sure it followed the codes and conventions of a magazine, this ment I had to constantly look back at the notes I made about codes and conventions, even when I was planning for the real thing. I had to make sure the layout was right and I also had to consider the size of font I was using, especially on the contents because the writing has to be size 11, so I followed the codes and conventions. I believe I followed all the codes and conventions when producing my music magazine. There is nothing in the codes and conventions that I haven't done, this is why it looks like a typical magazine cover and contents. im proud of this .
3. We had to use 2 different software to create our school magazine. For the front cover we used Adobe Photoshop. I found this ok to use, at first I found it a little difficult because I hadn't used it for a while so had forgotten what to do, but after I used it for a while my memory was restored. From then on I loved using it, I had no problems with the making of the cover, there was nothing I struggled with or couldn’t do. Thankfully it all ran smoothly without any complications. However for the contents we had to use a software called Quark. It was the first time I had ever heard of it so having to produce a contents page on it, I was a little worried. I don’t know why because it was very straight forward, I had no problems with it. Personally I think it is easier to use than Photoshop, it is less complicated and it only revolves around a few different buttons which was good.
4. The problem with my front cover was my main image, I had planned to take the picture of the student in the recording studio in school but it was being used so I had to do it elsewhere. My next option was in the breakout area with the background being the lockers. This ment I at a problem with the colours of the font I used. I had to use colours that stood out and didn’t blend into the background. Thankfully the red text on the right hand side stands out against the red background, this ment that my planning went as I wanted. However, with my contents page I had no problems, I thought I would do, with it being a programme id never used before but it turns out it was incredibly easy to use, I was very pleased about this. I didn’t have any problems with this task, I thought I got through it quite well. I didn’t come across any complications while planning or producing the magazine. This is a great feeling because it leaves me feeling positive about making the real thing, the music magazine. I know that will be a lot harder but with doing this task I can only do better, it refreshed my memory for when I do the real thing.
