The document provides an evaluation of the planning, research, time management, technical qualities, aesthetic qualities, and audience appeal of a documentary project. For planning, the student created mind maps and mood boards but could have improved demographic research. Research involved analyzing existing interviews but more detailed notes could have been taken. Time management was impacted by scheduling the interview. Technical elements like camera angles, lighting, and audio quality were strengths. Aesthetic qualities like varied shots and lighting helped make the video appealing. Images in questions helped relate to the target audience. Peer feedback suggested improvements like different music, more security footage, and clearer fonts.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
How to Make a Field invisible in Odoo 17Celine George
It is possible to hide or invisible some fields in odoo. Commonly using “invisible” attribute in the field definition to invisible the fields. This slide will show how to make a field invisible in odoo 17.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

2. Planning
To begin my research I started by mind mapping out the different ideas that I had for my project.
This helped me visually picture what I was wanting to create. I think this was a strength in my
planning however I do think I could of went into more detail in the mind mapping and try to get
my point across clearer. I then narrowed it down to my final idea and spoke about what it was
and what the product would be about. The next stage of my planning I looked at different photos
related to my product that I wanted to create. In my moodboard I included photos from sports
such as football and formula 1 driving this was because in my documentary I interviewed a
security guard who looked after these high profile sport celebrities and having this moodboard of
the this helped me to visually communicate my ideas that I had. I also did another moodboard of
interviews themselves and this helped again to get across my ideas visually on how I want my
interview to look and it sets the mood for the project and as a consumer reading this you can see
the mood of my interview that I'm going for. A weakness of my planning would be my
demographics. I believe this is because when trying to find secondary research there wasn’t much
that I could find apart from the basics so it wasn’t that detailed. Believe that an improvement to
this would be if I did some primary research whether this was to create a survey and send them
out or to go into the streets and ask questions either way this would have benefited my work.
3. Research
To begin my research I started this by looking at existing products of different interviews
and analyse them. Analysing the interviews were a strength as this allowed me to see what
the conventions are in interview. It allowed me to see what kind of shots and camera angles
that are used and how they are used efficiently. This would help me in my final product as I
would have the knowledge that I need in order to make my product look like a professional
product. I think this was a strength of my research as it give me a better understanding. I
think to of improved this I could of went into more detail about the shots I analysed and to
speak more about the lighting and what affect it has on the audience. A strength of my
research is that I wrote about the different techniques that I learnt in college from lighting
to camera lenses. This was a strength because it gave me a better understanding on what
lenses to use and how to use different types of lighting effectively and what effect it has to
the consumer. I then wrote my questions that I wanted to ask the interviewee. When
selecting the questions I tried to think of what I thought would be interesting and what I
thought people might need to know. I think if I were to do this again then I would do some
primary research to find out what sort of things that my consumer would like to know and
this would be a benefit to my work as the consumer will be able to know certain things that
they will want to know. I do think a strength of my work was looking into the different
colour schemes and the different fonts as I experimented with different ones to see what
would work and what wouldn’t .
4. Time Management
Overall I think my time management wasn’t too bad however I believed that it could have been
better. The main thing I found difficult when it came to time management was finding a date with
the interviewee so that I could actually film the interview as he was always away travelling for
work and when he was free I was at college so this was the main issue that I faced which then
meant I was behind when it came to production as I wasn’t able to get my interview filmed in
time. To overcome this I made sure that I got the interview filmed as soon as I was able to and to
catch up I managed to edit the entire interview at home which meant by the time I had college
again I was all caught up. I believe I may have spent too much time watching interviews and not
analysing them however this was because I engaged with the content and was wanting to find
out more about the interviewee and the things that they were saying and this is what I wanted
with my content to make the consumer want to find out more and want to keep watching it. If I
were to do this again I would spend less time actually engaging with the interviews but when I
am watching them try and take more notes. This would of benefited my work as I would of had
more knowledge and understand more about the content.
5. Technical Qualities
There were a few technical qualities that I used within my work for this interview. One was the
camera angles that I used. The first camera angle I used I placed the camera directly infront of the
interviewee and I had this camera capturing a medium close up shot and I filmed this at 1080p 30
fps which was the highest quality that the camera could do. For the other camera angle I shot a
medium shot at the side of the interviewee. If I was to do this again I would use another camera as
for this I used a regular iPhone 6 camera and had the phone balancing on a gorilla pod. When I
filmed the interview I shot it near a window so I could try and get some natural lighting however
the lighting from outside made no difference so I decided to use a soft box light and after I filmed
the interview I colour corrected the lighting using adobe premiere pro just to make it look that
extra bit cleaner and more professional. I think a strength my interview is how clear the audio is.
When I was filming the interview I used a rode videomic pro which I just plugged into my camera
and even though there are better ways to get audio this was simple and considering I was on a
tight schedule it was quick and when listening to the interview the audio is really clear and you can
hear everything that the interviewee is saying.
6. Aesthetic Qualities
From my interview that I created some of the aesthetic qualities were the different camera angles
that I used. This looked aesthetically pleasing as it meant as the consumer is watching the
interview it doesn’t stick with the one shot that gets boring to watch over time. I think anther
thing that makes the video aesthetically pleasing is the fact I used soft box lighting as lighting is
very important in videography and it also helps the video rather than having just grainy footage
that makes the audience not want to watch it. Another element of my video which made it
aesthetically pleasing are simple things such as the intro and using other clips and pictures of the
interviewee. I think if I were to do this again I would like to included more camera angles with
different shots and as well try and find a better place to film the interview or even blur the
background out and just have a dim light focusing on the interviewee because personally I think
this would have made my video my video look more professional. I do think a disadvantage of my
product was the font I used and if I were to do this again I would use another font and experiment
with different colours that I could of used so they could be read clearer whilst on the pictures.
7. Audience Appeal
In my interview there were many different techniques that I used in order to make my
content appeal to the audience. The first thing was I made sure the questions that I were
asking the consumer would find them interesting. I made sure the questions were ones that
would relate to my target audience which is males in their mid 30's . Another way in which I
made my video appeal to the audience was that when I had the questions on screen I
included the some images as the background image. This would appeal to the audience as
you can see the interviewee with people such as Neymar, Lewis Hamilton and Donald Trump
and other high profile celebrities. This appeals to my audience as my target audience is
people that are interested with the security business and also sport fans that want to know
more about the behind the scenes of the industry so that is how this will appeal to them. I
think if I had more time I could improve the way in which I appealed to the audience such as
if I had time to go down to a sporting event and actually film the behind the scenes of what
goes down throughout the event and even from when they have to take the players around
to get from one event to another. If I had more time I would of liked to turn this into a series
and have a few episodes focusing on different aspects of the company and what they do as it
is hard to fit into a one video.
8. Peer Feedback 1
What did you like about the product ?
• I how the questions were structured and that you had photos in the background
instead of it being a plain black background or any other color.
What would you improve about the product ?
• To improve your product I think you could have had the interviewee asking the
questions rather than having the text on screen.
9. Peer Feedback 2
What did you like about the product ?
• I enjoyed the different camera angles that were used in the interview it made it
more interesting to watch rather than just sticking with one angle.
What would you improve about the product ?
• Use a different background music
• Include more photos / video of the security work
10. Peer Feedback 3
What did you like about the product ?
• I liked the music that was in the background
• I liked the pictures that were used.
• What would you improve about the product ?
• Include better font when asking the questions
11. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer feedback ?
I agree that my interview could have had a better background music however I think for
this I should have done more research as I wasn’t going to include the music but after
watching it I thought it would be more interesting with music however I did notice in
most interviews they don’t tend to include background music.
• What do you disagree with from your peer feedback ?
The only thing I would disagree from the interview would be to have the interviewer sit
and ask the questions. I feel like this would work better if my interview had questions
that led on to the previous questions where it is almost like a conversation between the
two but as my interview doesn’t i think it is better to have them displayed up on the
screen.
