Results Questionnaire
Question One
I asked how they rated my ideas in order for me to know how much they like my ideas. I am very happy with the results I
got as it meant that they liked my ideas since they are all within the last star. The minimum I got was 10 3 stars, however
this is then contrasted to 37 five stars. The most liked part was the Settings and therefore, to make my trailer appealing I
am going to keep the settings.
The least liked section was technical elements and so when it comes to producing my film trailer I am going to add more
detail and pay more attention to the elements as this is what my target audience want and by changing this it should
dully appeal and therefore be effective and successful.
Question Two
I asked why they liked the plot
and exactly what it was that
they enjoyed so I knew what
they really enjoyed and could
either keep or improve on this
element. If I done this is
meant then that the plot
would involve things that they
enjoyed and therefore would
appeal to them.
The target audience said how they really liked the action that my trailer was to
have within it of the killing and rescuing, the plot itself appealed to my audience as
it is convectional yet still has many hidden twists. They also like how much detail I
had gone into with my plot, they thoroughly liked my realism and the drama of the
plot. They also like the relatable side of the plot. My trailer is also challenging to
the conventions and is unique, it has two themes in one and plays with your brain
and the audience liked this idea.
I am happy with the plot as all
my ideas had a good section to
it and all my audience found
something which they like and
so I know that it will appeal to
many different types of
people.
Question Three
A important question I ask was what they did not
like about my plot and why so I knew what the
audience didn’t want within a trailer to make sure I
then don’t include this. By doing this it meant I can
avoid certain things they did not want and make my
trailer fully appealing to them and therefore
successful.
I had mixed reviews when it came down to
the responses. Four people did not think I
had to improve on my plot and the others
thought there was too much in it and too
similar to every other horror film. And there
does not seem to be too many jump scenes.
I am happy with the response I got because it
is mainly positive and they all agree on similar
things so I know that I need more jump scenes
and focus more on one plot rather than two
and that it does keep them on their toes. I
believe that if I improved on these elements it
will fully appeal to my target audience.
Question Four
The brain shows that it is mainly all in the left hand side of the
brown, this meant that I had all good and positive response. I
had 4.09/5 as my lowest number but that is still rather good.
The highest I got was 4.36/5 so on average I received 4.25 stars
out of five which I am very pleased off. It meant that they really
enjoyed my characters as then appealed, engaged, related and
thought they where conventional alongside keep them
interested and this is what I wanted to receive. I will not change
my characters are from this results I had many five stars
meaning the audience where very happy with the characters.
I am not going to change anything about my
characters. The worst result was in the
conventional element as I have members of
all types of society alongside some
conventional elements. Not a single person
disagreed with my results meaning they
really enjoyed the idea of my characters and
would watch my film.
Question Five
One important question I asked was how I
could improve on, on my characters to
make sure they fully liked my characters.
Many results said they thought there was
nothing to improve on but some thought I
could have more bolder characters, make
them really close and emotional to each
other and make them all unique. They also
said to make them each have different
personalities so everyone could relate to
someone and to make them so
stereotypical and follow every other film
I listened to the results and made
them have more personalities, more
characters rom different social
groups and made the antagonist a
girl rather then a male, this is then
also making it different to other
films and challenging the
conventions and stereotypes but
also following others making it very
unique.
I am happy with the result as it
was mainly positive with points
which will really help me when
it comes to making my horror
movie, making it fully
appealing to them and
therefore successful.
Question Six
The majority of the response as for their
favourite part of my trailer was the Plot,
the technical elements was not ticked at all
and the conventions was second. This
mean that I am going to keep the plot the
same and know that they will enjoy the
trailer. However I am going to work on the
technical elements and settings.
The reason why I asked this question is so I
know what they liked about the ideas I had for
my trailer and what once where liked the least.
This will then enable me to be able to consider
the results in order to make my trailer even
more appealing to them. Also by getting my
target audience to answer this question I could
see what needs working on and what they like
already so I have a understanding into what
they enjoy.
The standard deviation was 1.34 and
the Plot was chosen 36% and was the
highest meaning my results where all
spread out showing that everyone my
target audience all liked something
different and so I know that each thing
was liked by someone and appealed to
someone so with a bit of tweaking it
should appeal to most of my target
audience.
Question Seven
Since I have not asked much about
my technical elements I chose to
ask this question. The whole trailer
has to use the four technical
elements and can either make or
break a film. If the camera work,
editing, mise-en-scene or sound is
bad then my target audience will
not enjoy my film, will not find it
professional, it wont be successful
and my audience will not find it
realistic and so will not be scared
which is the whole point of a
horror. I asked what they liked so I
knew what to keep the same and
what they enjoyed but most
importantly I asked what they
didn’t like so I could then edit it to
make sure they enjoy my trailer
and it appeals to them.
The response I got was very helpful and it now allows me to expand and correct
anything so it fully appeals to them. They like how I plan on using them but I
could improve on the editing and sound and the sound is what makes them
jump. They also think that they should have a higher role. They also think it is not
varied enough, not detailed to the full extent like the rest of the planning and
that and say a reasoning why I chose that.
They did like that they all stood out from each other, so the response is varied
in opinions. They think they are all effective and that they all link together.
They also like that I believe they have a equal important to the trailer and the
realism it brings.
Over all I am
happy with this
result and will just
focus on sound
and editing more.
Question Eight
The response to this question links back to the
previous question as the least liked concept in my
production is the sound. My target audience
believe that this is the most important factor in
the four technical elements as this is what makes
the scared and jumped and also what brings in
the music to make it intense.
By asking them this question I knew what one specific
element they disliked the most and what ones they
enjoyed. The Plot, Mise-en-scene and characters all got
no answers meaning these are what they like and so I
will not change anything with these areas. However the
camera work got one and so I will see what needs
improving on the camerawork. The editing came second
with four responses meaning that I need to look into the
editing aspect and varying the editing techniques I used.
The sound had six and so this is where my main focus
will be in order for my trailer to fully engage the target
audience.
The response will help me in order to
produce a trailer that appeals to the
audience fully. All my focus will be on the
sound in order for this to fully appeal to
my target audience as without the sound
the trailer will not be as interesting or
dramatic for the audience.
Question Nine I asked how can I improve so I got specific details into what
they expect to see and what needs work in order for it to be
more appealing to them. By knowing what they want me to
improve and by improving it I am guaranteed that they will
like my trailer. It also means I know what to change to make
it the best it can be and for it to be the most effective.
The response was mixed and varied
meaning it gives me more to go on in
order for it to appeal with most people.
The response is very useful and I will
consider all points brought up to make
sure my trailer is well enjoyed.
The response I received was that I could use
things more in order for it to be effective, I
could make the camerawork more varied and
mix it up more. I could expand more on the
editing techniques, add more sound into my
trailer and make the technical elements a
higher priority. They also thought I could make
it stand out more to make it unique and show
my ideas more detailed so they can understand
it more.
By following what they had to say it means my trailer
will be very effective. I will mix my trailer up more and
spend more thought and details into the technical
elements such as the editing and sound.
Question Ten
I asked if they thought my trailer would work so I
could see if they do overall enjoy my ideas for the
production or if they do not like it at all. The
response I got I am very pleased off, Zero people
thought that it would fail meaning that they enjoyed
it all. One person thought that it needed some work
but could work however 10/11 people agreed that it
will work. By having 91% thinking it will work means
that my trailer it going in the right direction and
appeals to the vast majority of my target audience.
By getting this result it gives me a boost in
confidence as I know it is well received and will
appeal to my audience.
