Stax Is Memphis Music Case Study
With this development, McEwen and a group of like minded citizens headed to the Memphis City
Council to implore them to enter the fray and stop the South Side Church of God in Christ from
tearing Stax down. Rufus Thomas, a Stax recording artist who recorded hits for the label over its
entire time in business, observed, The city government and the people of Memphis need to stop being
complacent about Stax. Graceland has been turned into a top tourist attraction, the same could be done
for Stax. Stax was Memphis music. On August 1st, Judy McEwen, Tela McEwan, Charles E.

EE Cummings
E. E. Cummings s experimentation with form and language places him among the most innovative of
twentieth century poets. He developed a style so unique that his poetry was not fully appreciated until
after his death. Cummings experimented radically with form, punctuation, spelling and syntax,
abandoning traditional techniques and structures to create a new and unique style of poetic expression.
Like Charles Williams and many other poets of his time, Cummings expresses in his poetry his
philosophical views of individualism and transcendentalism, and his criticism towards society s
intolerance of nonconformists. He particularly conveys his philosophy of individualism and view of
how we are all forced to conform in his poem s anyone lived ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The form of the poem reflects the spontaneity that an individual can have within the restricted views
of mainstream society. The ungrammatical structure of the poem endorses Cummings views of being a
nonconformist, as he promotes that he does not need to abide by society s restrictions on language and
grammar in order to portray and write a story. Through his experimentation with poetic form and
language, Cummings is able to promote his philosophy on individualism in anyone lived in a pretty
how town .
In maggie and milly and molly and may , Cummings expresses and promotes his transcendentalist
philosophical views through the use of personification. In the second couplet of the poem, Cummings
introduces maggie, and she symbolizes the sweetly troubled one. When Maggie was in a time of
trouble, she turned to nature (the shell), as transcendentalists do, to find comfort. Maggie not only
finds nature, she also finds art in the form of music. The shell sings to her, personifying the shell as a
person who can sing. It is through the shell and its song that maggie loses her woes and finds her inner
self, hence conveying transcendentalism and individualism. Cummings used personification in maggie
and milly and molly and may to help promote his philosophical views of transcendentalism and
individualism.
A homophone was used in the end rhyme of maggie and milly and

Crawfish Suck The Head Pinch The Tails
How To Eat Crawfish Suck the Head Pinch the Tails
It s almost Mardi Gras time, and we can t think of a way we like to celebrate better than a big old
crawfish boil (or crayfish, or crawdads, or mudbugs, or whatever you call them). These tiny,
freshwater crustaceans are basically tiny lobsters, but that doesn t stop them from perplexing people
from outside Fat Tuesday s homeland year after year.
The truth is, getting the best, meatiest part of the crawfish is simple. And yes, sucking the head really
does matter, and no, that doesn t mean you are eating crawfish brains (first of all, you re sort of
sucking the body, not really the head and second of all, crawfish brains are about the size of a pin head
so you would absolutely not know if you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Along with the juices, there is a yellow substance, or the fat which is the most prized. Hardcore
Cajuns actually pinch the head a little as they suck, to savor every last drop. Cajuns being Cajuns and
not astacologists (crawfish biologists), called it fat at some point in time. This very rich and super
flavorful fat is really the hepatopancreatic tissue, which functions as the primary energy storage organ
within the crawfish.
If you have eaten crawfish before, but they were not from Louisiana, you have not tasted the fat.
Chinese crawfish tailmeat, the most commercially available crawfish product in the U.S., is rinsed free
of fat prior to cryovac packaging. This extends the shelf life of the crawfish, as extended contact with
the fat will cause the meat to spoil faster.
Commercially packaged Louisiana crawfish tails are almost always sold in their fresh form, and
contain this vibrant orange yellow fat. In addition to adding visual appeal, the fat contributes to the
unmistakable richness of the meat, similar to the rich flavor profiles found in shrimp and

Succumbing to hunger and thirst on the fifth day, they killed the dog for nourishment. Two of the
crewmen died on the sixth day. On the seventh, the remaining crew reached land.
Ironically, Marion returned to the family farm healthier and in better spirits than when he had left.
Wrote Peter Horry, who would later serve under Marion: quot; His constitution seemed renewed, his
frame commenced a second and rapid growth, while his cheeks quitting their pale, suet colored cast,
assumed a bright and healthy olive. quot;
Apparently, this voyage ended his obsession with the sea, for he farmed his family s plantation for the
next ten years. Gradually, his brothers and sisters married and moved away. Around 1750, his father
died, leaving Marion to manage the plantation and care for his mother.
Though thethe began in 1754, it did not touch the daily lives of South Carolinians until the war s final
years. At this time, Cherokees began threatening settlers along the South Carolina border, influencing
Governor William Henry Lyttelton to enlarge his military forces. Marion and his brother Gabriel were
among the Huguenot recruits. When an expedition led by Colonel Archibald Montgomerie was
ambushed by Cherokees near the town of Echoe, Montgomerie s troops suffered heavy losses. The
defeat alarmed the South Carolinians, who appealed to Lord Jeffrey Amherst, commander in chief of

Health Partners Free Clinic Is An Agency That Can Help...
People are living longer and the elderly population is gowing by leaps and bounds. In the years to
come, this age group will face chronic illnesses. These individuals will need teaching on how to self
manage the sickness. Diabetes medications can cost a person up to $1,379 which is a lot of money for
someone on a limited income. Twenty percent of people age 65 and older conveyed taking less
prescriptions over the past couple of years (Bennett Flaherty Robb, 2013). Health Partners Free Clinic

organization. Health Partners free clinic is located in Troy, Ohio; it is a non profit agency that serves
the citizens of Miami County. The mission of this facility is to increase the availability of medical care
to people without insurance and those who do not have enough insurance coverage (Health Partners

Starting Blocks In The 1920s
Did you know that in 2009 when Usain Bolt broke the world record for the 100 meters his reaction
time was .146 seconds! Meaning that without using starting blocks this world record of 9.58 seconds
would have became a meager 9.726 seconds placing him second behind Tyson Gay who ran 9.71
seconds. The blocks are an intricate part of any modern track and field race from the indoor 60 meter
sprint to the outdoor 400 meters. Since their creation in the late 1920s the starting blocks have been
involved in a countless number of world records and have influenced the outcome of many races.
Introduced to the world of athletics in the late 1920s by 2 American coaches track and field began to
slowly revolutionize its way of thinking. In 1929, Charlie Booth was recognized as the inventor of the

Three Dream Theories
The three types of dream theories are the psychodynamic, activation synthesis, and neurocognitive
dream theories. Each are a little different and interpret dreams in a separate way. The psychodynamic
dream theory was made by Sigmund Freud and states that dreams are all about fulfilling wishes and
come from internal forces and conflicts. He believed that dreams contain symbols that represent what
someone may be aware of or may subconsciously want. On the other hand, he also thought that
dreams could also just be over everyday experiences. The activation synthesis hypothesis was made
by Allan Hobson and Robert McCarley and this hypothesis is much more based on biological body
functions. These two psychiatrists believed that during REM sleep brain centers are initiated but the
messages made by these centers are stopped and the body makes no movements. The brain still
receives these messages and tries to make sense of the random material by looking ... Show more

I remember a lot of my dreams after they occur, and for the most part, my dreams are either about
normal things that happen to me or things that I wish would happen. From the results of all the people
I interviewed the most common theory that was believed was the neurocognitive theory. When I asked
why people chose this theory, it was generally because of what their dreams have been about. Besides
the case of nightmares, almost everyone said that they dreamed about things that they have wished
about or hoped would happen to them someday. Quite a few people also chose the biological theory
because they believed it sounded the most scientific and thought that s what truly happens inside the
brain when dreaming occurs. Strangely, no one chose the psychodynamic theory; of the people who
had an opinion on it, they said that they didn t agree with this theory because most of their dreams are

Art And Emotional Realism In The Hellenistic Era
The Hellenistic Era was a time of drastic evolution and change amongst the Classical Greek Era.
Alexander the Great made many conquests throughout Persia, Egypt, and the Mediterranean, which
created a fusion of multi ethnic cultures, resulting in the Hellenistic Era. This era turned the corner on
the Classical Era s concept of religion, art, and science. The influences of Egyptian, Persian, and
Mediterranean cultures in the Hellenistic era exposed the Greeks to unfamiliar ideas, resulting in a rise
private worship, individualized art, and concrete scientific facts. First, between the eras art
transformed from perfectionism in the Classical Era to a more emotional realism in the Hellenistic
Era. In the beginning, most statues were carved of stone. However, bronze and marble was later
introduced into the world of sculpting which grew in popularity amongst artists. Next, a prime
example of the influence of perfectionism during the Classical Era were sculptures mainly composed
of Gods and Goddesses. Hellenistic sculptures, on the other hand, focused on ways to show fluidity
that complemented how the body moved. Although each era exhibited different artistic styles, both
eras shared a common focus on human anatomy. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The New England Convicts
Convicts were first bought to Australia in the year 1788 with the first fleet which was led by Captain
Arthur Phillips. In the first fleet, there were 11 ships with a total of 717 convicts aboard. The ships
were called, Alexander, Borrowdale, Charlotte, Fishburn, Friendship, Golden Grove, Lady Penrhyn,
Prince of Wales, Scarborough, HMS Sirius and HMS Supply. Out of these 11 ships, 6 of them were
used to transport convicts. These 6 ships were, Alexander, Charlotte, Friendship, Lady Penrhyn, Prince
of Wales and the last one was Scarborough. The other 5 were used to transport supplies. This voyage

That was until 1783 when the American War of Independence ended. When America refused to take in
anymore convicts, the English were forced to take the prisoners somewhere else. Due to prisons
overcrowding, they were still thinking where to put all these convict. Their solution, was to put them
in old, rotting prison ship known as hulks. Hulks were normally old naval ships that could not go out
into sea and fight but they were still able to safely float on the water in the harbour. Once all the hulks
were full with convicts, they began shipping them out to Australia because they thought that no one
owns the land and was big enough to hold convicts for many years. One other reason that they moved
these criminals here was because their old system was very cruel and it really disturbed the public.
Their system was to chop the head off of the criminal. Due to the finding of Australia, it gave the
English a new opportunity, for both the expansion of the empire and a place to keep the convicts. The
bringing back of the ancient method of banishment, reduced the population stress in the Western parts
of Europe by the less horrific methods in the newly identified territories. This idea of banishing the
criminals was the replacement for the death sentence. The death sentence was not fully removed, as it
still existed for the people who committed major crimes. There was amnesty of the death sentence for
the people that committed minor crimes.
What work did the convicts do on arrival to Australia?
The work a convict did, was dependent on who they worked for, what skills they had and where they
worked. Now we are going to look at how a convict s day went by. Rules

In Balzac and The Chinese Little Seamstress, a historical fiction by Dai Sijie, the Little Seamstress is

beauty is a treasure beyond price. (178) . By this statement, she means that people can be judged by
their physical appearances. I totally disagree with the Little Seamstress statement. People should never

Effect of Sucrose Molarity on Potato Tuber Weight
Using Sucrose Solutions to Determine Osmolarity of Potato Tubers Based on Weight

October 2, 2012
Abstract:
In this experiment we were trying to determine the osmolarity of potato tubers by weighing them
before and after incubating them in solutions of sucrose with varying molarities. To find the
osmolarity we took a potato and used a cork borer to obtain seven samples of potato tubers. We then
prepared seven beakers with concentrations of sucrose ranging from 0.0M to 0.6M. After weighing the
potato tubers one by one we cut them in half and placed each halved tuber into each beaker. We

Results:
The purpose of this experiment was to incubate potato tubers in solutions with increasing molarities of
sucrose to determine osmolarity based on the weight of the potato tubers before and after incubation.
After removing the potato tubers from the beakers, we weighed the pieces and recorded the weights.
We then observed the weight change and percent change in weight of the potatoes. In every
concentration of sucrose the weight of the potato tubers increased, with the largest change in weight
being in the 0.2M solution of sucrose with a change of 9.5%. The smallest change in weight was in the
0.4M solution of sucrose; the change in weight was 0.47% (Table 1). The percent change in weight of
the potato tubers started high at 0.0M with a change of 4.3% and decreased to 2.4% at 0.1M, then
increased dramatically to 9.5% at 0.2M. It decreased again to 0.48% at 0.3M then again to 0.47% at
0.4M. At 0.5M it increased to 3.5%, and then at 0.6M the weight change decreased again to 1.0%. The
percent change of weight generally decreased from 0.0M to 0.4M, and both 0.5M and 0.6M are
increases from 0.4M (Figure 1).

My Life Changing Experience At The Doctor s Office
I walk through the doors with my mom. I hear crying, little kids throwing tantrums and moms telling
their kids everything would be fine. The nurses walking around with files and stethoscopes around
their necks. I was officially at the doctor s office. I had checked in and sitting in pain with all these
noises going on, thinking that it would be just a regular visit. But little did I know, from that day on it
would be a life changing experience to my identity.
My whole life s been a chase, it s a gift and a curse. Was on my way up to the top then slipped into
reverse. I was at the doctor s office for a messed up shoulder. Not thinking he would say anything
about getting older. They had me sit patiently in pain while they were scanning away my arm to see
what was the cause of all this. The doc showed me the x rays and said you ll be fine, it s just a frozen
shoulder blade. But do you see this here ? I immediately said yeah like, what is it? He points his finger
at the x ray and tells me what no 18 year old, 5 foot 5 boy that is playing hockey wants to hear, you re
done growing. My stiffened like I had seen a ghost. My heart had stopped like something was stuck in
my throat. I could feel the rapids of water hit the dam behind my eyes and when I stepped outside, that
dam broke. I couldn t hold the tears back. The rest of the night I would stay awake in my bed and keep
telling myself from that point on, I swear I would go on my grind mode.

Afrail Empire Research Paper
Time waits for no man When the village of Afrail was first discovered, an enormous stone fell from
the heavens. No one knew how or why it had fallen, but it seemed to possess a special power. Over
time, the stone split and carved itself into an extraordinary village. This small town grew in power; it
succeeded in its conquest of other areas, and advanced in science. The town of Afrail always had a
prolific amount of food and goods available, so trade blossomed. Afrail created a powerful empire
with a military who had a reputation of being fearless warriors. Throughout the capital extravagant
and adoring buildings glimmered in the sunlight; however none were as magnificent as the vast palace

Thesis About Street Children
I. Introduction
Everyone deserves to have a home that they can live, a sufficient food and things that makes them
contented although other are not comfortable to their life. Street children are those who are seen in the
street and under the bridges. Orphanage is one of the best places for the street children to live. In this
institution they will guided and they will take care by the officials. Some parents are not responsible to
handle such things because of the way they live. Because of the poverty a lot of parents are force to
abandon their children. And the children are needed to work for their daily needs.
II. PROBLEM STATEMENT
We can see a lot of children sleeping in the street. We have many orphanages here in the Philippines
but the majority of this is occupied of street children. Due to the poverty and parent s lack of interest
in taking good care of their children many are seen by the roads, under the bridges and those chasing
cars to ask for alms. Some are out of school others are driven in pushing and using drugs. These
reasons are some of the causes why some children are involved with gambling and robbery. Early
pregnancy is also one of the reasons why street children are mounting. ... Show more content on

The higher loss in the preceding year was mainly attributed to the impairment of assets held for sale of
RM 167.0 million and a forced write down of RM 103.1 million on property, plant and equipment.
Accordingly, the loss per share has decreased to 18.1 sen per share from 104.9 sen per share in the
preceding year. The Group s shareholders funds now stand at negative RM 309.4 million. On
operations, one of our overseas customers did not extend their wet lease contract with us when the
contract expired in September 2011. Regrettably, we have also ceased to indirectly serve our major
shareholder, Pos Malaysia, when all our contracts were terminated in December 2011. The Group will
continue to develop new businesses while being mindful of the financial condition of the Group,
especially the depleting cash flow. LITIGATION The Company s lawsuit against former management

Marine Mammals in Captivity
Marine Mammals in Captivity Imagine you are a young orca living out in the ocean, enjoying life, and
having a great time. One day you get caught in a huge net, separated from your friends and family, and
taken away from your home. You are captured in a concrete tank and forced to perform tricks for
money for the rest of your life. Except you are not the one getting paid, but the people that captured
you. There are so many anti slavery organizations in the world today and we are all frightened by the
thought of being held in captivity. While we fight against slavery, we do not realize that we actually
support it at the same time, just a different form of slavery. Although killer whale shows are just an
enjoyable form of entertainment, keeping whales in captivity is a cruel way of making money which
risks the lives of whales and the people that work with them. Thousands of people every day pay
money to see these shows, but they just don t realize how much do these animals really suffer behind
the glass. Keeping whales in captivity is a very brutal way of making money. Many people do not
realize that whales are not just fish; even though they live in the ocean, they are actually considered as
mammals, and are part of the dolphin family (Killer Whale 1). Unlike goldfish and turtles that we can
keep in aquariums, killer whales are huge, wild animals that are meant to live in the sea. It has been
documented that no fewer than 21 of the world total of 42 orcas held in

Defense In Football
Every Defense in football is different, but there are some parallels no matter how unique a defense is.
Every defense has a defensive front, different coverages, unique blitzes, and they all have the same
positions. Defense is what gives a team an edge. It is the difference in a good team and a great team. A
good defense keeps the opposing team s offense off of the field, limiting their chances to score. While
doing so, they are increasing their chances to score by keeping their team s offense on the field as
much as possible.
The foundation of every defense is the defensive front. The front refers to where each position is when
lined up. The seven most common fronts are the 4 3, the 3 4, the 4 4, the 5 2, the 5 3, the 6 2, the Goal
Line Defense. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The answer was the zone blitz. we were able to rush five guys and cover with six. That s what you
need to run a zone blitz. Bill Arnsparger. The 1980 s really set the tone for the defenses we see in the
NFL today. The 1980 s is when the short passing game started to become very popular among the
upper levels of football. Before this, football was all about power, ball control offenses. As a result,
that is what defenses were used to defending. As short precision passing offenses became more and
more popular, defenses need an answer to stop these offenses. The answer was the zone blitz. The
zone blitz allows five men to rush the quarter back, attempting to disrupt the quarterback. If that fails,
the defense still has six men in coverage. The zone blitz is still very popular in the NFL

The Ways We Lie And The World Of Doublespeak
In the essays The Ways We Lie by Stephanie Ericsson, and The World of Doublespeak by William
Lutz, there are two different angles on lying. They both have a different outlook on lying, Ericsson
believes that it is just a part of our language, and that these lies are not deliberate. Lutz believes that it
is more deliberate, and intentional. Both Ericsson and Lutz use anecdotes and stories as examples of
lies, while describing different kinds of lies.
The author s purpose in both of these essays are the same, to tell the world about lies people tell. In
The Ways We Lie Ericsson describes different ways people lie, while in The World of Doublespeak
Lutz goes into detail into one kind of lie, doublespeak, rather than multiple ways people

The Role Of Music In My Life
Bono once said, Music can change the world because it can change people . Music has changed me
into the person I am today. I believe that music heals my life problems. I remember running around in
the Blockbuster video store my parents owned, always drawn to the music section. Although my
parents weren t heavily influenced by music, I branched out and discovered a whole new world. I
found myself getting my first MP3 player at age 7. Although The Jonas Brothers and High School
Musical were less influential in my life, it did expose my mind to music. In a more recent time, I find
the lyrics to songs very powerful and meaningful. Each song has a meaning, and every song I listen to
can relate to my life. I mostly listen to very sad songs, and although it sounds disheartening, it s what I
can relate to the most. There was a time in my life when I was very lonely and unhappy. I had no one
to relate to, except for when I found lyrics in a song. Music helped save my life, it was there even in
the darkest of days. Music then made me a much happier person. It was difficult to express my
feelings and emotions, but I felt that I finally wasn t alone. It helps me find myself and my happiness
every day. Every time I am in a bad mood, I just put on my headphones, listen to some of my favorite
voices, and tune out the rest of the world. At the end of the day, if no one else is there for me, I know
music is. The tune of a song is always something that I enjoy because it brings people

Qualities Of Charlemagne
Charles the great or Charlemagne was considered, according to many not just another roman emperor
that was crowned by the pope but rather God s emperor (Rosewain). At the beginning of his triumph
he spent most of his life in warfare, fighting to conquer and unite the kingdom. He earned a reputation
as a great warrior because of his great skills, such as strategy, decision making and leadership.
Allowing him to become the king of the Franks, where he fought many battles to conquer the lands of
the kingdom and convert the people into Christians. Just like Constantine, Charlemagne wanted to
protect the Christians and the culture. He would give money to the church and protect the popes. He
wasn t only considered a great king and leader to many

Lead The Way
People Lead the Way VRIO stands for value, rarity, imitability and organization. It represents a
strategic tool to assist with evaluating a company s internal resources and capabilities as a way to
provide a competitive advantage (Jurevicius, 2013). This tool can provide insight into the critical
nature an organization assumes with identifying, sourcing and attracting new leadership. Leaders drive
organizations, set the tone, establish culture and are ultimately accountable for organizational
performance. People lead the way to successful operations. Without the right people a business is just
walls and capital equipment incapable of generating value. People are the brains of an operation,
ensuring the rest of the body understands the response required to function. The importance of putting
the right person in the right position can prove a daunting task. Every person is unique with a different
mental and physical makeup. This make up shapes a person s beliefs and attitudes. Putting a
personality that is square in a round hole can be met with disaster. There are a number of methods to
help understand a person s personality. Myers Briggs is a personality type indicator (MBTI). It
represents a method where a person answers a set of unique questions to help establish their
personality traits. Understanding these traits can provide insight into how a person processes
information and interacts with others. Understanding one s personality, in conjunction with other

Evaluation Of The Elementary School
This lesson was taught November 12, 2015 at Rosa Taylor Elementary School in Miss. Baggott s fifth
grade class. That week the students went to see Miller Middle School November 10th and were out of
school for Veteran s Day on November 11th. This week in math the students were learning about
polygons and their characteristics. Triangles have a first and last name describing the sides and types
of angles. There are different types of quadrilaterals and other polygons with five for more signs. For
the summative assessment given to the students by the cooperative teacher, the students had to identify
the shapes by their name, number of sides, number of angles, and (for triangles) their first and last
names. My lesson was titled review stations where the class was broken up into groups of three or
four. There were six stations that included: polygon collage, the shape game, foldable focus group,
triangle board game, tangrams, and computer games provided by the teacher. Each station had a red
folder that consisted of everything the student needed for that particular station. The folder had written
directions either on the sheet of paper or on the folder itself. For the mini lesson, we collectively wrote
a chart in their interactive journals for notes. The chart consisted of five columns, including: prefix,
name, number of sides, number of angles, and shape. Their assessment for Friday asked questions
about number of sides and number of angles a particular polygon had. Each

A Brief History of Japanese Religion Essay
A Brief History of Japanese Religion
The Buddha is said to have been born in India around 500 BCE. During his life time, he preached the
benefits of the Middle Path, the road between the two extremes of a decadent life style and severe
austerities. Soon after the death of the founder, Buddhist missionaries began to travel through out
Asia, finding their way along the Silk Roads to China, first arriving around 100 CE. The climate there
was hospitable to the teaching of the Buddha, and soon Buddhism was counted along with Taoism and
Confucianism as one of the major religions of the period. The Chinese interpreted the Buddhist texts
in a new light, and Chinese Buddhism began to take on its own distinctive character. Around 600 CE,

Thus an ancient hero could become a kami, as could a venerable ancestor, or a mountain, or a natural
phenomenon. In fact, to the ancient Japanese, the entire universe was animated and alive with kami.
These kami were generally described in ambiguous terms, taking on a super natural aura. Kami who
were once people lost their human qualities. Many of their actions were strictly context based they laid
no hard and fast moral code that humans should emulate or strive to follow. They were thought to live
on some sort of heavenly plane, above the world we live in. One popular myth of creation involved
two kami (Izanagi and Izanami) coming down from the plane of heaven and creating Japan, along
with all of its people, plants, and animals. Another prominent kami was Amaterasu, the Sun Goddess
and founder of the line of Emperors. The kami were usually neither all good nor all evil; depending on
the situation, the kami could help or hinder human progress. The early Japanese did not attempt to
unify the worship of kami; in fact, it was not until the introduction of Buddhism to Japan that the
Japanese used the word Shinto as a sort of umbrella term to distinguish their indigenous religion from
the foreign ideal of Buddhism.
So how did the Japanese worship these kami? There were two main rituals (that can still be found in
Japan today). The first is a shamanic ritual, where one would

Don t Love Or Like Someone And You ll Go !
Try telling yourself you don t love or like someone and you ll go crazy. To try not to impress him or
try not to think about him.... It s like you want to be with him, but nowhere near him all at the same
time. It s not easy! They say if you love something let it go. Is it really that simple? Love one day and
forget the next? That just won t work! I mean how could you love someone or something and just let it
go? If you want something you should go for it right? Hold on to it and never let it go? Keep it safe
and make sure nothing harms it? Isn t that what you re really supposed to do?
His name was Rob, he was not what you would consider traditionally attractive. He didn t look like an
underwear model. There were no bulging pecs beneath his white button up. No rippling abs. He was
average height and average build, average brown eyes and average short hair. You would never look at
Rob and wonder what magazine, billboard, or commercial you d seen him on. But there was
something in the way he looked at you. Something about his smile... It was in the way he touched your
shoulder or brushed the hair from your cheek. Even the way he said Hello. That hidden quality, that
sincerity, that subtle little something, that s what makes you love him.

International Students And Higher Education
International Students is rising in the U.S.
It is obvious that due the declining education funding and drooping domestic student enrollment have
forced many U.S. colleges and universities to adopt new revenue strategies and attracting international
students seems a reasonable solution. This strategy aims to bring more revenue to the institutions as
well a more diverse environment through a greater diversity of languages, cultures, and perspective in
the classroom.
According to Global Student Mobility, the global demand for international higher education is
growing rapidly, and it is forecast to rise from 1.8 million international students in 2000 to 7.2 million
international students in 2025 globally. The U.S. higher educational system remains the most
respected and recognized, attracting the largest number of international students. The leading
contributors to the U.S. total are China, India, South Korea and the most recent one Saudi Arabia
sponsored by their scholarship program. Larger institutions tend to attract the most international
students, however, small institutions are not far behind.
I believe Ship should continue outreaching to the local International Community Colleges, develop a
more intense marketing strategy and recruitment plan for international students. Ship should be keep
using its location, accredited education and small size personalized attention as marketing tools.

The Plague Literary Analysis
The surroundings of a story serve as a mother to the web of tales that intertwine reality and fiction.
This nest is the birthplace of heroes and the home of villains. A character s strength is limited by the
intensity of the fires that forge them. Albert Camus piece The Plague does not stray from such a
conclusion. The novel, written in 1947, centers on a doctor in Algerian port town of Oran, which is
struck by the black plague. From this state of entropy and suffering, the human conscience, more
specifically, his human conscience, is exposed, in all its glory. At the eye of this hurricane is Dr.
Rieux, wide eyed and clutching his stethoscope with white fingers as his surroundings attempt to

Expansion Of The College Football
Expand the College Football Playoff
Many men go to work every single day, making big money for other people, and are the best at what
they do in the country, yet they still do not get a chance to get a raise or promotion. The College
Football Playoffs (CFP) decides the best college football team in the nation and declares an outright
National Champion. The #4 Ohio State Buckeyes were crowned National Champions of the first ever
College Football Playoffs and almost did not even get into the playoff. Even though there is a better
system in place than the Bowl Championship Series, the CFP has imperfections. The playoff should be
expanded to 8 teams to give a better idea of who the best team in the nation is that year, because often

Ashby claims in a recent article, Ohio State got beat by Virginia Tech in the first game of the 2014
season and would have had absolutely no chance of winning a National Championship if the
computers were still in control (Ashby). However in the 2015 College Football Playoff, the Buckeyes
claimed the final #4 spot in the College Football Playoff and ended up winning the whole playoff.
However, with a four team playoff, the Ohio State Buckeyes did not even get the chance to defend
their throne in the 2016 CFP because they were ranked #7. Expanding the playoff would only make
the job easier for the selection committee and would make a more fair and exciting College Football
Playoff. Give a chance to teams that deserve an opportunity to win the CFP.
The NCAA has five major football conferences, the Big XII, Big 10, Pac 10, the ACC, and the SEC
(College Football Conferences). The College Football Playoff, including only four teams, will always
leave a conference champion out of the playoff picture. In the very first CFP in 2014, the Texas
Christian University Horned Frogs (TCU) were ranked #3 going into the final playoff selection. The
Horned Frogs plummeted to #6 after winning their final game and crushed all hope of playing for a
national championship. The Baylor Bears were sitting at a #6 spot going into the final

Comparison Of Sweeney Todd And Into The Woods
Sweeney Todd and Into the Woods are musicals with lyrics and scores written by Stephen Sondheim.
In Sweeney Todd, a barber is sent to Australia for trumped up charges while the Judge steals his wife
and daughter. Barker comes back with a vengeance, renames himself Sweeney Todd and vows to
make the Judge pay for what he has done. In Into the Woods, a witch has put a curse on a family for
generations because the patriarch stole some vegetables from her garden. Springing from this robbery,
she set a curse disallowing the family to ever bear children again. The Baker, the son of the thief, now
begs the Witch to remove the curse, she sends him on a scavenger hunt and thus creates turmoil and
distress for many other people. In both cases, revenge is used as a driving force for the plot. Sondheim
represents the theme of revenge in both musicals as detrimental to those you love as well as a trap that
can lead you into dark places. The theme of revenge is exceptionally clear in Sweeney ... Show more

we all deserve to die (Sondheim, Wheeler), here Sweeney is acknowledging the notion that it doesn t
matter who or what someone is, they deserve to die. He also makes the comment Not one man/ no nor
ten men/ nor a hundred/ can assuage me (Sondheim, Wheeler) stating that he will not stop killing. He
will always have the urge and the need to give people what they deserve, which is, to die. All of this

Stereotypes In The Achievement Of Desire By Richard Rodriguez
There is this young girl named Katy. She comes from a family with low income, and little to no
educational background. She does not like sharing her background with others. When she does, people
sigh or seem uninterested and do not want to talk to her. Since she receives negative feedback when
sharing things, she decides not to share anything at all. She wants to do things but feels obligated to do
the opposite of what she wants to do because it is what is expected of her. She is unhappy doing so,
she is not herself. Many people are like Katy. In the sense that they have expectations of others. The
way people perceive us make us do or act a certain way. We need to not let what others think or expect
of us control us. The negative stereotypes we are associated with can make us not be ourselves and be
unhappy, causing us to do things because it is expected of us and sometimes we set these expectations
on ourselves. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Stax Is Memphis Music Case Study With this development, McEwen and a group of like minded citizens headed to the Memphis City Council to implore them to enter the fray and stop the South Side Church of God in Christ from tearing Stax down. Rufus Thomas, a Stax recording artist who recorded hits for the label over its entire time in business, observed, The city government and the people of Memphis need to stop being complacent about Stax. Graceland has been turned into a top tourist attraction, the same could be done for Stax. Stax was Memphis music. On August 1st, Judy McEwen, Tela McEwan, Charles E. McEwan, Austin G. However, Archer also reached out to the officials at the various tourism bureaus and found little support. • 3. EE Cummings E. E. Cummings s experimentation with form and language places him among the most innovative of twentieth century poets. He developed a style so unique that his poetry was not fully appreciated until after his death. Cummings experimented radically with form, punctuation, spelling and syntax, abandoning traditional techniques and structures to create a new and unique style of poetic expression. Like Charles Williams and many other poets of his time, Cummings expresses in his poetry his philosophical views of individualism and transcendentalism, and his criticism towards society s intolerance of nonconformists. He particularly conveys his philosophy of individualism and view of how we are all forced to conform in his poem s anyone lived ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The form of the poem reflects the spontaneity that an individual can have within the restricted views of mainstream society. The ungrammatical structure of the poem endorses Cummings views of being a nonconformist, as he promotes that he does not need to abide by society s restrictions on language and grammar in order to portray and write a story. Through his experimentation with poetic form and language, Cummings is able to promote his philosophy on individualism in anyone lived in a pretty how town . In maggie and milly and molly and may , Cummings expresses and promotes his transcendentalist philosophical views through the use of personification. In the second couplet of the poem, Cummings introduces maggie, and she symbolizes the sweetly troubled one. When Maggie was in a time of trouble, she turned to nature (the shell), as transcendentalists do, to find comfort. Maggie not only finds nature, she also finds art in the form of music. The shell sings to her, personifying the shell as a person who can sing. It is through the shell and its song that maggie loses her woes and finds her inner self, hence conveying transcendentalism and individualism. Cummings used personification in maggie and milly and molly and may to help promote his philosophical views of transcendentalism and individualism. Crawfish Suck The Head Pinch The Tails How To Eat Crawfish Suck the Head Pinch the Tails It s almost Mardi Gras time, and we can t think of a way we like to celebrate better than a big old crawfish boil (or crayfish, or crawdads, or mudbugs, or whatever you call them). These tiny, freshwater crustaceans are basically tiny lobsters, but that doesn t stop them from perplexing people from outside Fat Tuesday s homeland year after year. The truth is, getting the best, meatiest part of the crawfish is simple. And yes, sucking the head really does matter, and no, that doesn t mean you are eating crawfish brains (first of all, you re sort of sucking the body, not really the head and second of all, crawfish brains are about the size of a pin head so you would absolutely not know if you ... Hardcore Cajuns actually pinch the head a little as they suck, to savor every last drop. Cajuns being Cajuns and not astacologists (crawfish biologists), called it fat at some point in time. This very rich and super flavorful fat is really the hepatopancreatic tissue, which functions as the primary energy storage organ within the crawfish. If you have eaten crawfish before, but they were not from Louisiana, you have not tasted the fat. Chinese crawfish tailmeat, the most commercially available crawfish product in the U.S., is rinsed free of fat prior to cryovac packaging. This extends the shelf life of the crawfish, as extended contact with the fat will cause the meat to spoil faster. Commercially packaged Louisiana crawfish tails are almost always sold in their fresh form, and contain this vibrant orange yellow fat. Each are a little different and interpret dreams in a separate way. The psychodynamic dream theory was made by Sigmund Freud and states that dreams are all about fulfilling wishes and come from internal forces and conflicts. He believed that dreams contain symbols that represent what someone may be aware of or may subconsciously want. On the other hand, he also thought that dreams could also just be over everyday experiences. The activation synthesis hypothesis was made by Allan Hobson and Robert McCarley and this hypothesis is much more based on biological body functions. Alexander the Great made many conquests throughout Persia, Egypt, and the Mediterranean, which created a fusion of multi ethnic cultures, resulting in the Hellenistic Era. This era turned the corner on the Classical Era s concept of religion, art, and science. The influences of Egyptian, Persian, and Mediterranean cultures in the Hellenistic era exposed the Greeks to unfamiliar ideas, resulting in a rise private worship, individualized art, and concrete scientific facts. First, between the eras art transformed from perfectionism in the Classical Era to a more emotional realism in the Hellenistic Era. In the beginning, most statues were carved of stone. However, bronze and marble was later introduced into the world of sculpting which grew in popularity amongst artists. When America refused to take in anymore convicts, the English were forced to take the prisoners somewhere else. Due to prisons overcrowding, they were still thinking where to put all these convict. Their solution, was to put them in old, rotting prison ship known as hulks. Hulks were normally old naval ships that could not go out into sea and fight but they were still able to safely float on the water in the harbour. Once all the hulks were full with convicts, they began shipping them out to Australia because they thought that no one owns the land and was big enough to hold convicts for many years. One other reason that they moved these criminals here was because their old system was very cruel and it really disturbed the public. Their system was to chop the head off of the criminal. Due to the finding of Australia, it gave the English a new opportunity, for both the expansion of the empire and a place to keep the convicts. The bringing back of the ancient method of banishment, reduced the population stress in the Western parts of Europe by the less horrific methods in the newly identified territories. This idea of banishing the criminals was the replacement for the death sentence. The death sentence was not fully removed, as it still existed for the people who committed major crimes. There was amnesty of the death sentence for the people that committed minor crimes. What work did the convicts do on arrival to Australia? After removing the potato tubers from the beakers, we weighed the pieces and recorded the weights. We then observed the weight change and percent change in weight of the potatoes. In every concentration of sucrose the weight of the potato tubers increased, with the largest change in weight being in the 0.2M solution of sucrose with a change of 9.5%. The smallest change in weight was in the 0.4M solution of sucrose; the change in weight was 0.47% (Table 1). The percent change in weight of the potato tubers started high at 0.0M with a change of 4.3% and decreased to 2.4% at 0.1M, then increased dramatically to 9.5% at 0.2M. You are captured in a concrete tank and forced to perform tricks for money for the rest of your life. Except you are not the one getting paid, but the people that captured you. There are so many anti slavery organizations in the world today and we are all frightened by the thought of being held in captivity. While we fight against slavery, we do not realize that we actually support it at the same time, just a different form of slavery. Although killer whale shows are just an enjoyable form of entertainment, keeping whales in captivity is a cruel way of making money which risks the lives of whales and the people that work with them. Every defense has a defensive front, different coverages, unique blitzes, and they all have the same positions. Defense is what gives a team an edge. It is the difference in a good team and a great team. A good defense keeps the opposing team s offense off of the field, limiting their chances to score. While doing so, they are increasing their chances to score by keeping their team s offense on the field as much as possible. The foundation of every defense is the defensive front. The front refers to where each position is when lined up. The seven most common fronts are the 4 3, the 3 4, the 4 4, the 5 2, the 5 3, the 6 2, the Goal Line Defense. ... I believe that music heals my life problems. I remember running around in the Blockbuster video store my parents owned, always drawn to the music section. Although my parents weren t heavily influenced by music, I branched out and discovered a whole new world. I found myself getting my first MP3 player at age 7. Although The Jonas Brothers and High School Musical were less influential in my life, it did expose my mind to music. In a more recent time, I find the lyrics to songs very powerful and meaningful. Each song has a meaning, and every song I listen to can relate to my life. I mostly listen to very sad songs, and although it sounds disheartening, it s what I can relate to the most. There was a time in my life when I was very lonely and unhappy. I had no one to relate to, except for when I found lyrics in a song. Music helped save my life, it was there even in the darkest of days. Music then made me a much happier person. It was difficult to express my feelings and emotions, but I felt that I finally wasn t alone. It helps me find myself and my happiness every day. Every time I am in a bad mood, I just put on my headphones, listen to some of my favorite voices, and tune out the rest of the world. Soon after the death of the founder, Buddhist missionaries began to travel through out Asia, finding their way along the Silk Roads to China, first arriving around 100 CE. Thus an ancient hero could become a kami, as could a venerable ancestor, or a mountain, or a natural phenomenon. In fact, to the ancient Japanese, the entire universe was animated and alive with kami. These kami were generally described in ambiguous terms, taking on a super natural aura. Kami who were once people lost their human qualities. Many of their actions were strictly context based they laid no hard and fast moral code that humans should emulate or strive to follow. They were thought to live on some sort of heavenly plane, above the world we live in. One popular myth of creation involved two kami (Izanagi and Izanami) coming down from the plane of heaven and creating Japan, along with all of its people, plants, and animals. Another prominent kami was Amaterasu, the Sun Goddess and founder of the line of Emperors. The kami were usually neither all good nor all evil; depending on the situation, the kami could help or hinder human progress. The early Japanese did not attempt to unify the worship of kami; in fact, it was not until the introduction of Buddhism to Japan that the Japanese used the word Shinto as a sort of umbrella term to distinguish their indigenous religion from the foreign ideal of Buddhism.
