The student evaluated their magazine cover and contents page design project. For the cover, they followed conventions like using a close-up image and bold title but would improve it with a larger title and different text colors. The contents page also met conventions with main and sub images and fonts, but they would change the colors and edit images. The cover was designed in Photoshop, which the student was familiar with, while the contents page used new software, Quark Express, which was harder to learn but they received help. The student identifies front cover design with Photoshop as a strength while contents page design in the new software was a weakness.

In many ways my front cover uses the codes and conventions of a magazine cover by using a medium close up as the main image and making the title bold and clear to see, also making the sub heading clear, however if I was to do it again I would make the title a lot bigger and change some of the text colour. The contents page also follows most of the codes and conventions of a magazine contents page it has a main image and sub images and text with different font page numbers to stand out if I could do it again I would change the colours and edit the pictures so they fit more.

3. For the magazine cover I used photo shop I had used this in previous years of school so was easy when I got reminded what everything did and where everything was. The contents page was different we used a completely different software we used a program called Quark Express learning to use the new software was hard but with help I was able to make a contents page.

4. I definitely have more strengths with using Photoshop on front covers as I have had more experience however I still have my weaknesses. With the contents page I did struggle it was definitely a weakness trying to learn and I don’t think the contents page was my strong point.
