2. However I think the size of my masthead is wrong and should be bigger to make it clear and stand out more. I have made sure I am following codes and conventions by shooting my main image as a medium close up. Ensuring that it is in direct address, looking straight at the audience to draw them in and create a connection. My masthead follows codes and convention of a real magazine front cover by changing the colour and font of it so that it is unique and becomes a trade mark for my magazine. I have also made sure that my main cover line is big and stands out so that the reader knows that its goes with the main image and anchors the meaning of the image. My masthead and all of my cover lines have been placed to frame the models head and I have ensured that there is no writing covering the models face. I think my main image is positioned wrong and should be more centred and a more precise medium close up.
3. Here Ihave followed the codes and conventions of a magazine contents page, by laying my page out in columns. Listing my features and my regulars. Here I have inserted p[age numbers on the images to anchor and connect the image with the text. However I think my Contents page should have more colours on so that it goes with the front cover. Here I have ensured that I have listed the features and regulars that are going to appear in the magazine, and I have followed the codes and conventions by numbering them all and making sure the page number is a different colour and/or size. Also in think that my masthead ‘Contents’ should be bigger and should be followed by an issue date and website.
4. Media technoligies Whilst working on this task I have used Photoshop, which I think was very easy to use and get the hang of. As I have used it in the past and am very familiar with it. Photo shop was used to make my front cover of a school magazine and I think there was a lot of things I could of done better however I quite liked working with and using Photoshop. I also used ‘Quark Xpress’ to produce my contents page, which was a new programme to me. I found ‘quark’ quite a simple and easy technology to pick up which made the process of my contents page easy to do however there is still a lot of thing that could be improved. I have also used ‘prezi’ and ‘Slideshare’ to present parts of my work on my blog . Both of these websites where easy to work and pick up. I think prezi is such a great website to use as there is so many different things you can do to present and make you work look good. Not all the media technologies that we have used have been new technologies, we have also just used camera’s from school to practise and work on the understanding of our camera angles and to photograph the drawings of our magazines front covers and contents pages. This was and easy task to do and I had no problem working with the school camera’s.
