The document describes the process used to edit together a documentary about dogs from interviews and footage. Key steps included cutting questions from interview clips to select the best answers, adding transitions between clips to make the content flow smoothly, and adding graphics, music, and a voiceover to finalize the documentary.
2. Firstly we went
through our vox
pops and cut
away the
questions, we
then picked one
answer with the
best questions
that fit properly
to the answers.
3. I then repeated
this for the next
following vox pops
so it would flow
with a range of
answers further
creating our set of
vox pops for the
beginning of the
documentary
4. While filming the
opening titles we
used a series of
effects to transition
creating a time
changing process of
the dog eating the
food revealing the
title of our
documentary.
5. This process was
then repeated
with the
interviews of the
dog owners,
picking the most
interesting and
relevant answers
and adding them
together making
it flow.
6. We then cut out the
questions and chose
different cutaways
that would match the
topic of the
interviewee avoiding
jump cuts making
the documentary
flow.
7. With the interviews
with the dog walker,
guide dog trainer
and also blind person
we used the same
process using
relevant cutaways for
each interviewee.
8. We then added
graphics of the name
and there relevance in
plain white font, we
then placed this in the
bottom left hand
corner.
9. We then added
the different
types of music
and altered the
sound making it
fit into place
and low enough
not to distract
the audience
from the
interview itself
10. We added in
our voice
over
therefore
finalising our
documentary
making it
flow and
interesting
for the
audience.
