Blogger allowed us to use other aspects
of Web 2.0 as well, such as youtube. This
allowed us to put our Wilderness woods
shoot, preliminary task and our final piece
on the blog to look at and learn from this
was very useful when we were preparing
how to improve for our final piece.
Blog Work
My group utilised our ability to use Blogger by
looking and learning from each others posts. We
commented what we like and what we thought
could be improved on group work. Our
collaborative posts were very strong, this was due
to us working together well and using everyone's
ideas.
We
also

for our pitch
presentation. I
think this was
successful because
It brought our ideas
To life.

Issues & Solution
• On the first shoot we had some trouble because we didn’t record each shot
more than once so if a shot was out of focus we didn’t have a back up. On
the second shoot it was made sure that we had multiple takes of each shot.
• We had a problem with lighting when shooting one of the victims, we over
came this by manually holding the portable light over the scene which was
very effective.
• Another limitation was the tripod, it was too big to get into small areas to
film close-ups, but if we didn’t have it the shots looked wobbly. We decided
to use the mini tripod to hook round things for a stable close-up shot.
• We were unable to use a track and dolly but we wanted tracking shots in
our opening, we put our tripod on a skate board and slowly rolled it. It was
very effective as it looked no different to a track and dolly shot.
Editing
We aimed to make our titles look professional, our
named titles were shown during the opening as done
in other psychological thriller films, this was so they
didn’t distract from the action. At the end of the
opening our main title appeared and its red, we used
Photoshop to design this title, but got the basic font
from dafont.com so it was exciting and different. I was
very involved in designing all the titles.
My Editing
We used continuity techniques in our editing to make it look like a continuous
story. However we also used intercutting with the newspapers to hint what is
to come. We didn’t use any filters but we did have to stabilise some of the
kitchen scenes that were shaky. We also had to use the timeline in Adobe
Premier Elements because we needed to do some very close cuts and work
on stretching the sound to make sound bridges. Some of the clips were too
fast so we slowed them down a bit. We also found sounds online which we
used throughout the film, these were both diegetic and non-diegetic. I took a
lead role in editing the kitchen scene which was mainly cut on action. I really
enjoyed editing the clip and making the titles.

  • 2. Blogger allowed us to use other aspects of Web 2.0 as well, such as youtube. This allowed us to put our Wilderness woods shoot, preliminary task and our final piece on the blog to look at and learn from this was very useful when we were preparing how to improve for our final piece. Blog Work My group utilised our ability to use Blogger by looking and learning from each others posts. We commented what we like and what we thought could be improved on group work. Our collaborative posts were very strong, this was due to us working together well and using everyone's ideas. We also Web 2.0 to use Prezi for our pitch presentation. I think this was successful because It brought our ideas To life.
  • 3. Equipment Used TripodDSLRTrack (Skateboard)Portable LightsMini TripodCamframe Issues & Solution • On the first shoot we had some trouble because we didn’t record each shot more than once so if a shot was out of focus we didn’t have a back up. On the second shoot it was made sure that we had multiple takes of each shot. • We had a problem with lighting when shooting one of the victims, we over came this by manually holding the portable light over the scene which was very effective. • Another limitation was the tripod, it was too big to get into small areas to film close-ups, but if we didn’t have it the shots looked wobbly. We decided to use the mini tripod to hook round things for a stable close-up shot. • We were unable to use a track and dolly but we wanted tracking shots in our opening, we put our tripod on a skate board and slowly rolled it. It was very effective as it looked no different to a track and dolly shot.
  • 4. Editing We aimed to make our titles look professional, our named titles were shown during the opening as done in other psychological thriller films, this was so they didn’t distract from the action. At the end of the opening our main title appeared and its red, we used Photoshop to design this title, but got the basic font from dafont.com so it was exciting and different. I was very involved in designing all the titles.
  • 5. My Editing We used continuity techniques in our editing to make it look like a continuous story. However we also used intercutting with the newspapers to hint what is to come. We didn’t use any filters but we did have to stabilise some of the kitchen scenes that were shaky. We also had to use the timeline in Adobe Premier Elements because we needed to do some very close cuts and work on stretching the sound to make sound bridges. Some of the clips were too fast so we slowed them down a bit. We also found sounds online which we used throughout the film, these were both diegetic and non-diegetic. I took a lead role in editing the kitchen scene which was mainly cut on action. I really enjoyed editing the clip and making the titles.
