Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2. Cannon camera
One of the tools we had used was
a cannon camera. As I have used
cameras similar to this one it was
fairly easy to operate it.
When it came to uploading I was
not used to uploading things using
the macs so it took me some time
to know how to upload properly.
3. wix
We had used WIX to upload all of
the research and planning as well
as images and clips to show how
we have developed our piece and
what influenced the choices we
have made. The website was a bit
tricky to use at the start as we did
not know how to upload certain
aspects, but once we got the hang
on it was fairly easy.
4. IMDb
We had used IMDb as a source to
look at other thriller movies to
help us with the research on what
our movie could be like. We could
see what the audience liked more
by looking at the ratings of the
movies and this would hopefully
lead to our movie being more
liked.
5. Youtube
We had used YouTube to look at
other thriller opening sequences
both by other media students from
before but also real thriller movies
to see how they start and make our
opening sequence fit into the thriller
genre. As well as this we had used it
to upload our opening sequence as
well as research and planning videos.
The website is fair easy to use as
many people use YouTube on a daily
basis.
6. Rotten Tomatoes
We had used rotten tomatoes to
look at what sort of movies the
general public likes more and by
looking at the reviews we could
see which aspects of movies they
did not like.
7. Microphone
I had used this with Bethan to
record our research into the
thriller genre podcast. The quality
of the recording was good and it
was not very difficult to operate
or upload however there was an
issue with the memory card as it
sometimes ran out of memory
before we were done so we had
to upload and then continue.
8. Audacity
We had used audacity to upload all of
the audio recordings on and chop all of
the bits that we did not need for
example when there was a long space
when the next person spoke for the
podcast. The program was fairly
straight forward however with minor
complexities when it came to putting
all of the recordings together as each
one of them came on a separate
audacity note so it took a longer time
when we had to put several recordings
together
9. Prezi
I had used Prezi to make a
presentation on research and
planning several times and I had
found the program had a lot of fun
features which meant it wasn’t
that easy but the presentation
looked good.
10. Apple Macs
For most of our research, planning
and making our product we had
used macs. I found them a bit
more difficult to use as there are
so many new and different
programmes that I could use. As
we had used them so often, I find
them quite easy to use now.
11. Garage Band
Me and my group member Bethan
had used this program to produce
the music for our opening sequence.
As the program has so many features
and so many instruments it was hard
to find the ones that we wanted.
However this meant that we could
find a beat that would almost exactly
resemble what we had wanted it to
sound like.
12. Bubbl.us
I had used this website in the
planning process to mind map the
things that we might want to
include in the movie from the
atmosphere to the props and
character. The program made it
easy to make the mind map look
better on the website.
13. Final Cut Express
Final cut express played a crucial part
in our movie making process as this
was the program that we had used to
put all the clips and music and titles
on together to make our product. I
have not used this program before
but after watching a few tutorials I
found out how to make the
transitions run smoother and add
effects to the shots.
