Without these technologies, creating the magazine would have been far more difficult.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

- 1. How did you use media technologies in the construction research, planning and evaluation stages? By Kirsty Mitchell
- 2. Social Media The main technology for me was social media. The main network that I used was YouTube. I used archived footage throughout my media work. I used YouTube to find footage that helped link in with my topic and make it look realistic and help encourage the point that I was trying to make. My main archived footage was a news clip about the model that had plastic surgery to look like a Barbie doll. This was to show real life situations and the lengths that people go to nowadays to look ‘perfect’. I also used YouTube to get the music for my documentary. This was helpful to find music that linked in with my documentary.
- 3. Blogs Blogs is something that helped me throughout this unit. I used Blogger. This helped me to organise my work and keep track of where I was at. It is also very versatile as you can also use YouTube links. Blogger helped me with my work and research as people could then go back and fill out questionnaires and give feedback on your work. The blog also helped with my research as I was able to look back at other years work to help me understand how my work could be presented. Lastly using a blog has helped me to organise all of my work in an up to date and formatted way. It is also good as I am able to go back and edit any posts that I have previously posted.
- 4. Online Forums and Newspapers Although online forums were not used much, they did help me to gather information and statistics on how much plastic surgery was done in 2015 and how much money is spent of brand and products. By doing this it gave me the number and statistics that I needed so that I could then include them into my media product.
- 5. Websites Websites where helpful when carrying out my research. A main part I used websites for where when I was carrying out my institutions for example Channel 4. This research helped me to gather information and ideas for my media product and ancillary task. Websites are helpful when carrying out my research as I am able to find out any information that I am needing to. Lastly websites came in handy when putting together my evaluation. This meant that I could find different ways of presenting my questions. I will be using things such as Slide share and Prezi.
