In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge
forms and conventions of real media products?
In my media documentary i did not challenge forms of conventions but just
pointed out the facts that have an effects on the every day person. I did
however use forms of conventions to represent the realness and the interest
this topic has had in the media over the past few years. As it is a subject that
a lot of people have an opinion on it was important to make sure the
language and context was appropriate. I followed the channel 4 style guide
and used the correct home style so that it would appeal to the channel 4s
audiences.
Throughout my documentary i used a number of different camera
techniques such as over the shoulder shots, close ups and establishing
shots to involve the audience as much as possible making sure the
audience can interact with the clip and have a greater understanding of the
issues raised in the 5 minuet extract.

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
Having followed the conventions of the channel 4 website and correctly using the
Channel 4 style guide and format to make sure I have addresses the target audience
correctly I feel I have worked effectively. One of the ancillary tasks was to create a radio
script I decided to use an adult male with a strong intellectual voice this worked well as
he to would be someone that would be the target audience for my documentary and
hopefully by using that it will represent positively and channel 4 would agree, I have
heard similar radio adds from channel 4 this was where the inspiration came from. I
thing my factual insert was cleverly done and possibly i’snt a clear message until
hearing the radio add but it is represented in the way that supermarkets are becoming
the holy grail and every other organisation and self run business is missing out as they
cant compete with there advertisements. There is a clear message to the documentary
and i feel it has been express affectively.

What have you learned from your audience feedback?
I have learnt a lot from audience feedback and it has helped me to develop
on my ideas and ways and processes to make my work better. Through the
use of questionnaires and feedback forms i have been able to see what it
is the audience want to see in there documentary and ways in which I can
reflect there thoughts and ideas in my work. Having regular feedback has
helped me to improve my work and see ways in which I can change and
add things to make it more enjoyable for the target audience. I presented
my documentary to a group of people who would be classed as my target
audience where they then had a chance to tell me where I could improve
and things that were done well. I had a lot of possitive feedback about the
facts and statistics that where in the documentary and the realness of it
showing the people that this topic has an affect on ,However i am under no
elusion that there are areas on my work that could be better quality and of
a higher standard this was one of the negative comments I received and i
have taken this in to consideration. Things i would do differently if i had
another chance i would include more interviews and manage my time more
efficiently.

How did you use new media technologies in the construction and
research, planning and evaluation stages?
Using the computer through out the task and using software and
programmes I had never used before such as slide share websites and
macro media was challenging as it is a very time consuming process but
the easiest way to transport and edit documents. I used IMovies on the
apple laptops to construct and edit my documentary this was a very
technical process but was a lot easier to edit and crop the documentary. I
used a number of different programmes on the computer from PowerPoint to
Microsoft work and so on this was one of the easier processes as it is not
very time consuming and easier to use than the rest of the programmes i
found.In the proccess of making the documentary and adding work on to
blogger there was a lot of uploading and transferring work i have learned
how to upload word documents and embed them from sites such as Slide
share ,Scribd and photo Bucketbut. A lot of the time these programmes were
very difficult and often didn't cooperate but over all I have learnt the
processes well.
