The student used various new media technologies throughout their media project, including Weebly to create a blog to host their research and planning, YouTube to research horror film techniques, Survey Monkey to create a questionnaire for their target audience, a Canon DSLR camera to film footage for their horror trailer, Final Cut Pro to edit the trailer, Photoshop to design their horror poster and magazine, and YouTube to market and host their finished trailer. They also used PowerPoint, Emaze, SlideShare, and Prezi to creatively present their evaluation. Weebly served as the central hub to showcase their entire process and outputs.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Evaluation question 4
1. Question 4: How did you use new
media technologies in the
construction, research, planning and
evaluation stages?
2. New Media Technologies I Used
The logos on the right are all of the
new media technologies and
equipment I had used at some
points if not throughout the
research, planning and
construction of my media
products.
All of these technologies allowed
me to produce outstanding work
and showed me different ways of
producing work.
I was able to use these softwares
and equipment in producing all of
my different tasks within my
coursework.
3. The Making of My Blog
When undergoing research of my media products my teacher
had given us the idea of using weebly. This weebly site was first
shown to us in our first year of media which allowed myself and
the other students to be able to upload our research and
planning in order to have our coursework presented in a formal
and neat manner.
Using weebly allowed myself but also my teacher to access my
work. Weebly is a very straight forward website to see, so it was
very easy in producing work at the right time. The blog also
allowed I and the students to show the different media
technologies we are able to use which presents the skills I have
in using media technologies
4. Research & Planning
In order for me to produce the three
media products I had to create, I needed
to research and plan how I would be able
to create this. During my research because
I had to create a horror trailer, horror
poster and magazine it would be very
beneficial for me to look into these things
before create.
For example of the right picture is a
screenshot of my weebly blog displaying
tabs under my research which are showing
the different research I went through in
order to gain the confidence and skills to
produce my three chosen media products.
5. Research & Planning
In order for me to produce the three media
products I had to create, I needed to research
and plan how I would be able to create this.
During my research because I had to create a
horror trailer, horror poster and magazine it
would be very beneficial for me to look into these
things before create. Using YouTube showed me
the types of jump scares, editing techniques that
would be best to use within my trailer.
For example of the right picture is a screenshot of
my weebly blog displaying tabs under my
research which are showing the different
research I went through in order to gain the
confidence and skills to produce my three chosen
media products.
6. Research & Planning
One important research I had to look into was
finding out who was my target audience for
my trailer. One way I acting this out was by
creating a questionnaire on Survey Monkey.
Survey Monkey is a website that allows you to
make an online questionnaire which is an
example of new media technology. Which
allows you to share the hyperlink online,
rather than to search for your audience
manually by handing out questionnaires in
person which can be time consuming.
Creating this questionnaire gave me answers
on what to include in my trailer from the type
of antagonist, to the setting of the trailer, and
many more features my target audience
wanted to see.
7. Construction
Within my construction, new media technology had
a large role to play. For example during the creation
of my trailer I used a 700D Canon camera to film my
trailer, and being a DSLR camera allowed me to
have excellent footage. This then processed to
myself using my footage to edit and agree on Final
Cut Pro to make the final product of the trailer.
I also used Photoshop when making my horror
poster and magazine which is another form of new
media technology. Photoshop is the software that I
used to add texts, different editing to my poster and
magazine. This is shown under my construction tabs
on weebly from the process of the normal picture
to the construction of both the magazine and
poster on Photoshop.
8. Horror Poster & Magazine
My horror poster and magazines
were both created using
Photoshop. Photoshop was a good
software as I was able to download
texts and effects from the internet
onto Photoshop in order to create
more effective horror elements
onto both my poster and magazine.
Photoshop also had many editing
skills which meant I had a lot of
options to pick from and be able to
input various editing skills to create
the perfect horror magazine and
poster.

9. Marketing My Trailer
Marketing my trailer meant being
able to find a good platform for two
things. Being able to reach my
target audience and putting my
trailer on a big media platform to be
discovered by everyone else, other
than my target audience.
Using YouTube meant my trailer
would be accessible to everyone
which would make it easy to be
viewed. Using YouTube also allowed
me to present my work on weebly,
which meant I had my work on
more than one web 2.0 platform.
10. Evaluation
My evaluation has been set out using different types of
media technology. I displayed the different evaluation
questions using different media technologies to show the
different skills and types of software I have learnt during
my course.
I different types of media technologies I used to answer
my evaluation questions were Microsoft PowerPoint,
Emaze, SlideShare and Prezi. Using this format allowed
me to show my answers in a creative way but also be
able to incorporate images to link with my answers.
Also to my advantage all of these sites have embed codes
which allow me to put my creations onto my weebly site,
as most of these softwares have their own websites
where you creative the presentations.
