WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED
ABOUT YOUR AUDIENCE
FEEDBACK?
Throughout this PowerPoint I will be talking about the
questions me and my media partner asked in the survey and
evaluate the feedback we got back.
THE QUESTIONS THAT WAS ASKED
• What did you like the most about the documentary?
• Did you enjoy the documentary and if so why did you?
• How do you think the documentary addresses the
subject matter?
• What improvements would you suggest for this
documentary?
WHAT DID YOU LIKE THE MOST ABOUT
THE DOCUMENTARY?
Within this question the response we got back were overall very similar
because people mostly commented on how they were interested by the
variety of facts and figures that were given throughout the
documentary. There was a large amount of people who didn’t realise
that 30,000 people marched for Stafford hospitals acute services in
April 2013. Many people said they liked the use of shot transitions that
were used throughout the documentary along with the effects we used
when the information was being displayed because it made the overall
documentary effective and interesting. People also said they liked that
we gathered a member of the community to be interviewed, a member
that was and still is apart of support Stafford hospital and also
someone that worked at the hospital in that department, as this gave
them a wide range of different feelings on how the services going from
24 hours to then closing overnight would effect them.
DID YOU ENJOY THE DOCUMENTARY AND IF SO
WHY DID YOU?
When reading the feedback for this question, I noticed that it linked with
responses from the first question. This was because the question were very
similar however it gave us an idea why they enjoyed the documentary overall,
not just what they thought was good about the documentary. As said in the
first question people said they liked the facts and figures given, however in
this question they expanded the point and said how they extremely enjoyed
the information given by Heather Gough as many people were extremely
interested by what she was talking about in her interview, they also liked the
facts Cheryl Porter told us. A lot of people didn’t realise that the NHS was
having mass cuts from the Conservative government and that it wasn’t only
Stafford Hospital receiving big cuts. I feel that we didn’t address this point
enough throughout the documentary however it was said by one of the
responses that Chery Porter made a good comment about it. Cheryl Porter
speaking
after the
March in April
HOW DO YOU THINK THE DOCUMENTARY
ADDRESSES THE SUBJECT MATTER?
The responses we got back on this question was that some people felt that we
did address the subject matter, however other people said yes we did address
it but we could have addressed it in more depth. I do feel that we need to go
in more depth with our subject, however because it was only a short clip
documentary that could be no longer than 5 minutes we struggled to fit all the
information in that we wanted to, as we would have interviewed more people
e.g. people higher up and more involved in the changes of Stafford Hospital.
Although we did interview a senior nurse to hear her side of the story which
we were really pleased about as it was hard for us to find someone that would
talk out from that apartment, including more people like this throughout our
documentary would have helped the depth of the subject. The overall
feedback on this question was positive.
WHAT IMPROVEMENTS WOULD YOU SUGGEST
FOR THIS DOCUMENTARY?
The comments we got back on this question were small issues that they felt
needed improving e.g. the voiceover, as this wasn’t the best quality of sound
because it wasn’t clear. When doing the voiceover for the documentary we
were struggling as we didn’t have access to a good quality microphone at the
time, so we hat to use the microphone on the iPhone headphones. To improve
this for future refences me and my media partner William would make sure we
use a good quality microphone to make the sound come across clearer.
Another feedback for improvement was suggested that we could have added
more B roll footage, we did have some B roll footage of the National NHS
march which took place in London which I attended, unfortunately there were
issues with the files, so instead we had to make do with what we got for the
final scenes in the documentary.
